This was our first trip to Portland and we wanted to be somewhere walkable. This location fit the bill completely. We were across the street from the river. Able to walk to several restaurants and the Saturday Farmers Mkt.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth the price...."
The hotel staff were relatively nice but the hotel room was small, dated, and way to expensive for what it was.Genuine Expedia guest review

"great hotel, good access to all"
Used hotel as base for sleeping, bar/ballgames, access to touristy things, running on river. Apparently all staff were considered concierges, and they were outstanding.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Weekend with friends"
Free wi-fi advertised but it was a pay service upwards of $9.95! Perhaps the lobby computer was free but not in the rooms. Good location, easy of getting on and off iterstate. Valey (pay) parking availableGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rooms are small"
Rooms are a bit small and a 10 min walk to downtown. but great for running on waterfront.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good hotel for business. Easy walking to restaurants and river across the street for a stroll. Parking is $35 per day and Wi-Fi in the room is 9.95 per day. Free in the lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I enjoyed my stay"
This is a really nice hotel. My room had a fabulous view. The hotel staff were also friendly. The only thing it didn't was a mini fridge. Sometime you bring back half of your lunch or something like that. The location was near the event I was attending.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful river view"
Stayed here to attend event at Keller Auditorium. Perfect location. Room was lovely with great river view. Food in restaurant and room service was excellent. Would definitely stay here when in Portland.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel and room was clean & tidy. Amenities were adequate. Room was small with no in-room safe. Overall lack of value compared to other similar hotels in the downtown area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Watetfront hotel"
Enjoyed the hotel and the proximity to the waterfront and great restaurants. A comfortable and enjoyable visit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Tight management team"
Enjoyed the can-do attitude and just plain good ole friendliness of all the staff. Had a problem with noisy neighbor very late on e night and was quickly resolved by night manager. Will return!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"beautiful walk way and sights were very accessable"
It was very comfortable but a little noisy with a large convention in progress. Many people were standing outside the building in the back exit smoking and yelling late at night. The hotel staff were very helpful with directions and information.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was very nice, the view lovely. Downside: no fan in the bathroom and no refrigerator in the room. Also, there was a convention at the hotel, yet there were only two elevators running. Wait time was up to twelve minutes....no reason for that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location, friendly service"
For 10 guys meeting up in Portland, this hotel was convenient in location and amenities. Great to be downtown but with easy access to freeways for wine tasting and to-from airport. Within walking distance to the PSU farmers' market. Bar was comfortable for hanging out and watching sports. All of the hotel workers were very friendly and courteous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
After dropping our daughter off at college in Tacoma, my wife and I visited Seattle and Portland on our way home. The Marriott Portland was a highlight of the journey. We were given a comfortable room adjacent to the Presidential Suite on the top floor, with great views. In addition to a well-equipped fitness center we enjoyed access to the river front […] park and walks out the front door. Many great restaurants and shopping in easy walking distance. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. Valet parking was a little pricey and no free wi-fi in rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice stay, close to the river anworkshop"
Good clean enviroment, close to river and other site seer dream. Good conference hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
Very nice place to stay and conveniently located. The hotel is showing it's age a little in some of the room, especially bathrooms. The rate to park is outrageous, given the general cost of a room. Even knowing those couple of items, I'd still stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location and wonderful view! Rooms get a little loud if you face the water. Lobby is always full as is the Bistro. Parking is unbelievably over priced. It's robbery how much they charge. Tip: park and eat somewhere else if you want to save a bit of money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great service, sub-par in-room amenities"
The hotel staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and the hotel itself is in a great location. I was somewhat disappointed with the in-room amenities however. There was no mini fridge or hair dryer for instance. Overall a good experience and Portland is great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
hotel was nice, but paid extra for water view and got a little window in corner of building. Had a view of all the big window units across from us. For the price paid I expected a bigger room and bigger window.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Waterfront Marriott has the perfect view of the mountains and river, seconds away from a great walking or running path as well as being close to mass transit and restaurants. The hotel has a very attentive staff and a stellar group of waiters in the main restaurant. I would stay there again any time!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, just not perfect"
The hotel was good, the staff was super friendly and helpful, and the stay was enjoyable. It just wasn't a 5-star stay. The bathrooms wasn't up to par. It wasn't gross, it just wasn't 5-star quality. Everything felt worn. The rooms were somewhat awkwardly shaped, and didn't have a fridge/microwave, which I expected for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"convenient, close to shopping, restaurants and sch"
My husband and I had a lovely stay.......I had business at Western Seminary and he relaxed. A special treat was the symphony on Thursday night in the Gov McCall park.......We had dinner at the Bistro and breakfast on the 2nd floor......all good, pleasant wait staff.....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was impressed with the service. The front desk was efficient and friendly and knowledgeable in regards to the city and marriott rewards issues. The "in house" bistro was also very tasty, convenient, and quick. The servers also had great recommendations. The hotel is well located to the river side walking path and convenient for walking to several […] interesting areas of the city. Finally the airport shuttle was easy and inexpensive. As usual, the Marriott was a great stay. The staff at this hotel aims to please from housekeeping to valet parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not located in downtown"
The hotel is far away from the downtown area and the surroundings are terrible and hardly any good place to eat. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront We apologize our hotel did not meet your expectations for the surrounding area. Many of our guests appreciate the proximity to the waterfront park and the distance from the downtown "scene". We are just a short walk (within 5 minutes) of some of the best restaurants that Portland has to offer. If you're ever in Portland again and you have the occasion to use our hotel, please let us know if we can be of assistance in helping you get to the "gems" that Portland has to offer.
"decent downtown hotel"
the concierge was very helpful, and the view of the river was very nice. however, we had requested a handicap accessible room (as my grandmother is 103 and moves very slow) and while they gave us an accessible room, it was at the end of the hall on the 7th floor, as far away from the elevators as it could be. it makes absolutely NO sense at all to put […] an accessible room as far away from the elevators as possible- what a cruel joke!!! the room was very clean but the beds were definitely full size beds, not queen size beds as they were billed- had they been queen two people would been able to "sleep" in one bed and actually gotten some sleep. also, the hostess at the dining room for the brunch buffet was so rude we decided not to wait the 15 minutes for a table and just left. Was great we enjoyed ourselves.. We only missed a microwave and a refrigerator.. That was our only disappointment. Otherwise we loved the motel.. Leah in the gift shop was very helpful with great customer service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Had a great stay!"
We have never been to Portland. We booked this hotel as we thought it would great to stay downtown. The hotel was great! Good location, good restaurant for breakfast, great staff. The only negative was the parking. It was $32 per night! I think it could have been priced a bit less. Overall a wonderful experience! Will definitely stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location, perfect room"
location is amazing... 5 min walk from the core of downtown. located right on the water. great gym. thumbs up!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Wonderful stay! Everyone very courteous. Would stay there againGenuine Expedia guest review
It was okay for the price we paid. Room was small compared to our expectation. We asked for a micro wave and never got it. They should have said it otherwise upfront. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The biggest bummer was the paid parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront Thank you for staying with us and for taking time to review our hotel. We're sorry to hear our hotel failed to get a microwave for you. Generally requests for refrigerators or microwaves are expedited immediately for our guests and I'm dissappointed we did not get one for you. Parking in downtown unfortunately comes at a premium especailly with the limited space in the area. However our valet staff makes service for our guests their number one priority and with the garage under the building, your car is kept safe and secure and out of the weather. We hope you come back to see us again soon!
"Great location and great service"
Very satisfied with this hotel. Location is excellent. Service was excellent. Only negatives: room was a little on the small side; and parking is expensive. But I would still stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed our stay close to a lotGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"within good walking distance of areas of interest"
Hotel staff very friendly but without concierge desk a little limited on available info. Didn't need the car to get to the places we wanted to get to, doesn't mean it was a short walk but it was an acceptable distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location near river"
Nice hotel, consistent Marriott experience, good location near river in downtown PortlandGenuine Expedia guest review
Great location and super service, but the amenities were disappointing for the price. The air conditioner was VERY loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to Keller auditorium and the riverfront"
Modern, clean , friendly staff. Excellent customer service. This busy convention hotel is kind to the casual traveler as well. The hotel bistro bar is terrific. They don't have a concierge but front desk staff helped us with a dining reservation.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Awful awful view, small room"
I've stayed here before, so I knew what to expect in terms of room size. But this time, they stuck us in a room on the 3rd floor, with the most horrible view imaginable! It looked over a roof of the back of the hotel, and the roof was covered in grime, dirt, and bird droppings. We couldn't even keep the curtains open, it was so disgusting. We only stayed […] in the room to sleep, and immediately checked out at 8:30am the next morning. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to review your stay. I apologize for the poor view from your room. These rooms are typically used by guests that have no interest in the view from the room. We should have reviewed the information about this room with you prior to checking you in. I have spoken with the front desk staff to make sure we follow this procedure going forward. I have spoken with our engineering and housekeeping team to make sure they clean this area more often as well. We hope to see you again soon! Sincerely, William S
"Great experience but overpriced food"
Other than the ridiculously pricey food (who has is common), it was a lovely experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Far End of Downtown"
If you're looking for a decent mainstream hotel right on the river in Portland, this is your place. However, this one isn't in the center of the downtown action. Not a huge deal since Portland is a nice walking city and there's a good shuttle system with a stop just a few blocks away, but if I had to do it all over again I would have chosen one of the […] many hotels closer to the heart of the downtown area. A bit dated, but not too bad. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the staff is great, no complaints there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Downtown Portland Hotel"
This Marriott is located on the waterfront in downtown Portland with good views from your room if it's on the waterfront side of the building. This hotel is very comfortable with a good location. We stayed there with our daughter who loved the pool and hot tub. It was a nice salt water pool that was never crowded. The gym was also wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were walking distance from good restaurants and mass transportation. "You get what you pay for."
This is a nice high end hotel. It is everything is one would expect of a relatively expensive hotel. If you are attending the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival, you can't beat the location and quality.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
