The room was not that much nicer to justify the expense. Restaurants high (buffet breakfast $50 for 2) for rubber potatoes. Valet parking only for $32 per night. It was nice to have an indoor pool and whirlpool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great time it is in a great location to just leave the car parked and head out on the town on foot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel, great view. Parking was expensive ) but otherwise was a nice stay. Don't know why we had no shampoo/conditioner in bathroom but we made do as it was late when we got in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location, Good Value."
I've stayed here in the past and as usual the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Very nice lobby, lounge, and restaurant upgrades since my last stay. Awesome breakfast buffet. Easy access to the Riverfront Park as well as Downtown Portland. While it's not in "the heart of downtown," it's only a few blocks off and I always enjoy the extra […] little walk. The rooms were way too small for the price. Had brunch at their breakfast buffet, used my card to pay for it and gave cash for a tip some how they added their own tip to the bill. So now I have to go to the bank and get a copy of the signed receipt. The maid came knocking on the door at 8:30 am and then continued knocking every half hour even though […] she was told no thank you several times it took putting the sign on the door for her to get it. The overall experience at this hotel was uncomfortable and was way over priced. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Swanky place with nice indoor pool!"
My wife and I just wanted to have a special night with the kids on the way to grandma's house. We paid $193 for a $149 room + 20 for breakfast the next morning ($40 value) + taxes. After that, I wasn't interested in also paying the $32 for overnight valet parking so I found a street parking spot 6 blocks away (free). But on the adjacent block, you can […] park for $17 or something. But we had a great night and swam in the evening and the next morning. All in all it was a fine value, but if you can snag the $99 deals, definitely go for that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was very small, and way too hot, we turned the air conditioning on and it sounded like someone was running a vacuum. After tossing and turning most of the night, the alarm next to my head went off at 4:00 am...I am guessing it was from a previous guest, however I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. I have two small children, so this was […] very irritating. Because of our awful night of sleep, we slept in until 9:00, but were awoken when housekeeping came barging into our room. We ate downstairs at the Truss Bistro, and after waiting an hour the food was just OK. I have stayed at high end hotels and budget friendly hotels, like Holiday Inn and would choose Holiday Inn any day. Valet parking was the only option tacking another 32.00 onto our bill. The only perk of this hotel was the pool, it was calm, not too bright or loud, and saltwater. I would look into other hotels in the area before booking here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Good location for strolling on the waterfront. We took a good long walk and enjoyed the ambiance. Because we don't eat in hotel restaurants, the location provided a mediocre choice of diners, and restaurants within walking distance.Genuine Expedia guest review
I felt for what we paid for the room the beds should have been queen size, there should of been a refrigarator and we should of had free internet!Genuine Expedia guest review
The restaurant was incredible. You have to eat there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Short and sweet"
I was only in Portland for one night and this hotel was just fine. Offered an upgrade and the allure of a balcony was nice. As usual, not much soundproofing so early morning showers and departures around me were obvious. Would've been nice to have FREE wi-fi.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location; very helpful front desk staff; nice housekeeping team - very friendly in the hallwaysGenuine Expedia guest review
"Did not get reserved room"
We booked a room with a king bed, even double-checked the reservation to make sure I wasn't the one that made the mistake. Upon checking in, they had none and gave us a room with two double beds. Not exactly ideal. Check-in also took a very long time b/c the front desk person was trying to make up for not giving us our reserved king bed room by giving […] us a higher level floor. We ended up on the 5th floor. Not exactly great either. But the front desk person did their best, was very professional and was absolutely not at fault. The room itself was fine. Seemed clean enough, although it smelled a little musty. We turned the AC to be colder and it seemed to get better. The bathroom could have used a new shower curtain though. Towels were clean and plentiful. Wi-fi was reliable and relatively fast for a hotel connection. The hotel seemed really busy, always crowded and loud in the lobby - but the hallway of our floor was quiet and we could not hear anything in our room, so that was very nice. "Slept by loading docks and that was loud all night"
The rooms are nice, the staff is fun and the atmosphere is also hip/fun. However, my room was above the dumpsters and they came in the middle of the night to empty them. The windows seem incredibly flimsy as they didn't block any street noise or the trucks constantly backing in with their beeping noises all night long. The dumpsters must be the loading […] docks as well. I was awoken about 5 times throughout the night because of my rooms location. If you stay here get a room away from the dumpsters and loading docks. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"highly recommend . Very convenient location"
Love it. and would highly recommend it for a stay in Portland. Very easy access to everything.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was a bit of a walk from the red line, then to try to breweries that night, we walked 1.5 or 2 miles to downtown. The marina was nice, but didn't have any culture. The room was on the smaller side and had no view (you can pay more for a view). Wish they would have spent money on nicer toilet paper.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Only mediocre ..."
I have stayed in nicer Marriotts most definitely. Entrance was very nice, excellent staff, easy check in. Room was small and air conditioning was loud. First day had to call twice to get our room made up. Not bad but not great - would prob try a different hotel on the next stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun family trip"
Nice rooms we did room service for 3 and not a lot of table space to eat but was still good. Pool was good. Overall a good stay about 4.5 block from the max line we took to the zoo.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location great service!"
One of the best marriotts we have used . The staff were wonderful. They tripped over themselves to help. The only negatives were, no real evening restaurant, only bar food, but so close to everywhere it didn't matter. No self parking, and valet is $32 per night, ouch!! There are public garages close.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location. Easy to walk to downtown Portland from this hotel. Very safe feel and hotel staff was so nice and helpful. The only things I didn't absolutely love were the food at the restaurant bar downstairs and I thought the rooms needed to be updated. But I would stay there again. The view on the water side is incredible!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Getaway Weekend in Portland"
My friend flew in from DFW for a girlfriend's long weekend. I took the train from Everett WA. She texted me before I got there "the hotel is perfect". I loved the view from my room, especially at night with the lights from the bridges, it was beautiful! I was very pleased with the room, it was very clean, the bed was so comfortable, had a great view […] and the hotel was very convenient for the walking that we had planned to do. We did...we walked to the Pearl District, sat on benches along the riverfront, did some people-watching, did some shopping. Had some fabulous means, one was at Jake's Grill...recommend it highly. Your hotel staff was the best! We were greeted warmly, ordered room service one night and the guy who delivered even offered to go fill my ice bucket! I would definitely stay there again! I have been to Portland before and liked it, but now I really really like it and do plan to return to see more of it! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great time in Portland"
The Marriott Downtown Portland, Waterfront was a really nice hotel. Everyone was very helpful and courteous. We brought our bikes and had a great time biking around the city. The hotel had a safe and easy access place to store our bikes when we were not using them. Portland is a very bike friendly town. Don't miss the Saturday Farmer's Market at PSU. […] Best farmer's market I've ever been too!!! Only negative thing I can say is the A/C in our room was very loud when it clicked on. It did not bother my husband's sleep but it did mine. "Location/staff great, room VERY sub-par for the $$"
Location was good, but the room was less appealing. The room smelled like smoke even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. You could hear the weights from the workout facility and the cleaning crew ran the vacuum early in the morning. For the money, I expected at least a nice hotel accommodations. Very friendly staff. All are polite and ready to help you get answers. Valet attendants are knowledgeable and friendly with smiles. Nice entrance with Starbucks and restaurants inside. Nice indoor pool with gym next to it. Nice easy walk to the river front to walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Plus. Valet only, no self parking at location, […] but far and inconvenient. 2 beds room a little tight, much less than expected. Get the bottom floor with patio for more room. "Deceptive Policy Regarding Parking"
Before I booked the hotel room, I asked if there was a charge for parking. They said that there was only a charge for valet parking. When I arrived at the hotel they told me the same thing, then they said that they only had valet parking. They also told me that there was no where else to park that was near the hotel. When I asked the front desk why […] they didn't tell me they charged for parking they again said that they only charge for valet parking but they also admitted that valet parking is the only parking available. Why the deception? I wonder how many other things they are deceptive about. Do they actually clean the towels we set on the floor? The list could go on and on. I don't know because I don't trust them. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Would definitely stay here again!"
The room was pretty clean for an older hotel. The beds and pillows were really comfortable. The view from the water view room was spectacular! I would definitely recommend upgrading if you love to sit and watch everything that goes on outside during the time you are in your room. The location was across the street from Riverplace which has lots of great […] restaurants, ice cream shops, and coffee. Starbucks was just outside the side entrance ( but not open on the weekends! ). The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly, including housekeeping. I would definitely stay here again. Just one note...if there is anything going on at the waterfront, you can expect some traffic delays, otherwise it is a great location to be at if you love Portland's waterfront events. We don't usually spend this much on a hotel but decided that we wanted a good location downtown so decided to splurge. It was probably worth it and still a good value for the location but I hate paying $32 a night for valet parking downtown!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"hotel was by the waterfront which was nice."
I have stayed at other Marriott Hotels and was very pleased. I was very disappointed in this one. The others that I stayed at had no fees for parking, had a wonderful layout for breakfast at no charge, had a refrigerator in the room to keep bottled water in. The rooms were quite a bit larger as well as the bathrooms. Those hotels that I stayed at were […] for work travel and I am sure they were not charged as much but still. Disappointed ! Also, I know that we were early for check in but the couple that I was with were able to be in their room by 3 pm and when I went to the desk at 4 pm, which was check in time, they still had to check to see if my room was ready so it was still close to 430 before I could get into my room. "Comfortable rooms, great service"
Excellent hotel. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. It was also in a nice location by the waterfront and very quiet. I really liked the pool area as well. My favorite part was the breakfast buffet. Along with an omelette and waffle station (both really good!) and the usual bacon, sausage, and potato options, they had tons of fruit choices […] (bananas, apples, peaches, pears, cherries, watermelon, all types of berries, etc.). It was all very tasty! I'd definitely recommend this place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"In the City"
Generally, it was enjoyable and was walking distance of the downtown and all the activities of your outdoor market, restaurants, stores, etc. However, Portland like so many other cities has a looming problem with homelessness. While walking in the park areas one cannot miss the multiple people in sleeping bags and panhandling almost everywhere you go […] and you have to try to avoid all the caos. This gives Portland a huge black eye and hopefully somehow this human misery can somehow be alleviated. It was a distraction from an otherwise nice stay with one more exception and that was a woman's conference which was being held and instead of all the women having a meeting room to gather at they seemed to all collect at the lobby dining/cocktail area and with all the chattering it was hard to hold a conversation. "Great location nice views BUT......"
OK every thing about this hotel was good except if you are like me and want cotton sheets, quiet sleep you better stay elsewhere. The sheets were half polyester scratchy and hot and the air conditioner was noisy, it cycled on and off all night. I was woke up every time it came on.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed in a king room overlooking the waterfront blues festival. We went to the festival all day and then retired to the room in the event. So comfortable and the staff was incredible. I'd definitely recommend this hotel. Enjoy!Genuine Expedia guest review
