The hotel was well located near shopping restaurants, mass transportation and the theatre. The hotel was clean, well staffed, very accomodating. The rooms were modern, clean and very roomy and comfortable. The beds and linens were outstanding. The only drawback was the health club. It was small and the equipment dated. I will certainly stay there again.

I paid for my two days of parking for my car and that of my daughter, who met me there. Yet she was charged a two-day rate when we left. I had the original ticket; she didn't have one. Therefore, the attendant made her pay. They need a better system when two guests each have a car yet stay in the same room.

My wife and I stayed one night and enjoyed it. Good access to I-95. Employees were great. The breakfast included in the room rate was top of the line and the wait staff was very nice. Front desk employees were dressed in MLB shirts - nice touch. Room 428 had a slight mold smell that went away after a few moments - no big deal. The bathroom had no hooks to hang stuff - small annoyance. The baathroom door is a slider so no hooks there. There is no tub - just a walk in shower which we liked alot - very roomy. One of the best plasma tv's I have seen.

This is a great hotel. I loved the cleanliness, comfort and maintenance of the room and the hotel in general. It's location is perfect. There is a beautiful and large town mall right across from the hotel; near beach area, and local reasonable restaurants. My only suggestion is that the hotel should at least provide a free water bottle/guess in room.

This hotel was a huge dissappointment. I came here to meet my old college girlfriends for a day and night of catching up. We chose this hotel because it boasted an outdoor pool. The plan was to grab a couple cocktails and sit by the pool and catch up. Upon our arrival we found the pool was empty (in the middle of the July heat!) We ended up all smooshing into one of our rooms for the majority of the weekend.

I booked a stay at the Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa as I have been a guest of the spa several times but never stayed at the Marriott. The location is fantastic, as you have great shopping and several quality dining options all within a short walking distance. The lobby and staff that greets you are all great....but that's about where the quality ends. After the pleasant greeting and check in was complete, nobody even asked me if I would like assistance with my luggage. Upon arrival to my room I noticed a strange smell and hair on the bathroom floor. There was some trash in a garbage can by the desk (didn't bother reporting it as it was the tags from purchasing new clothing and other small pieces of paper and the smell was not overwhelming...but definitely strange). After opening the small window the smell does subside. The room was small and cramped and the TV would often loose it's signal. When I decided to call for some room service and asked for a latte (as listed on their menu), the person on the other end ubruptly stated, "your not having that because we don't have those". When I informed the woman that it was listed on their menu, she only repeated the same answer. A bit annoyed, I started to order my meal off of the menu in my room. I was then told that everything I was looking for was on their old menu and I needed to order from the new menu. I never received an apology for this but rather the menu was taken out of the room by the woman that delivered my meal. I decided that I would make my way to the small store the hotel has advertised, as I noticed I had forgotten a few essentials. As soon as I got to the store I was told that they closed early because it wasn't busy and they didn't want to keep it open? The food is mediocre, the room service and guest service attendants are less than attentive, and advertised services are not reliable.

The hotel was kept in good condition and did have a gym and indoor pool. The issue with our stay was in how busy the hotel was. There were about 3 weddings going on (it was a holiday weekend) and there were people everywhere at all hours of the night. Our room was also by the elevators which didn't help. There was a charge for the parking garage which was at capacity by 8 PM. Overall, the hotel wasn't bad, just not the place for a quiet evening.

I definitely can't complain about this hotel. I took the fiance on a weekend getaway for something different. I'm glad I did. Here are some things I've noticed, both good and bad: -- VERY friendly staff at the front desk. Gave me a map and pointed out all the places to eat, nightlife, etc. They had a doorman that greated you as you walked in the lobby. Checkin took 2 minutes. -- Lobby area was gorgeous -- Pool area and hot tub could use some updating, but didn't stop us from taking advantage -- Nice workout room. About 10 cardio machines with their own TVs. -- Shower in room was great. Had the typical shower head, but also a shower head that came from the ceiling, which I've never had before. It's hard to shower now without it, it was amazing! -- Regular room w/ king bed was a LITTLE crammed, but definitely nice. -- Parking garage situation wasn't great. Had to pay a fee per night.. One lot filled up, so had to park across the street. (easy walk) -- Right across the street from a nice mall with great stores. -- Convenient store on site was very nice and reasonably priced -- Maid service seemed thorough -- We actually stayed during a church youth group gathering. I must say that the people staying there were incredibly rude, noisy, inconsiderate. At 1:30 a.m. they were running down halls, throwing ice, screaming, etc.. But luckily someone called hotel security and they came up and had them stop. Extremely greatful for that!

we were given a second floor room because that was the "only" king size available when we checked in. there's 16 floors in this hotel. we looked over the entrance and the garage for a view. we went up to the 16th floor and were let into the concierge lounge by a staff member for a quick look to get a better view of Long Island Sound and the city. the rate was comparable to what marriott was offering for a weekend stay and we needed some weekdays so we lost out on the breakfast included option. we checked in on tuesday night and garage construction started on thursday morning. the noise blasted our room and they moved us to the 10th floor with a view and less noise for the next three nights. parking was moved across the street and validated by the hotel. the levels of the hotel's garage that were available were filled with sandblasting dust and noise. parking is charged to the guest for their own hotel so should not have been charged when it was not even convenient.

It sounded as though it was on the other side of our bathroom wall and was loud enough that watching TV was difficult unless the volume was put very high. Then we had a loud A.C. and a loud T.V. This was not a good combination. The people at the hotel were more than willing to help in all other areas and always very pleasant.

2/8 - 2/10/08 a group of us stayed at the Hotel. I was a bit disappointed upon our arrival to see that we had been placed in the older section of the Hotel that had not been renovated as of yet. However at that time the person I was meeting had already checked in and I did not want to change at that point as it would have inconvenienced my travel companion. Others staying at the Hotel stayed closer to the Spa wing and had newly renovated rooms which were lovely. I would recommend that people checking in take this note as consideration. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms although older were clean. The Spa although small was very good. Everyone that had treatments enjoyed the time there. As for the Spa staff, they could not have been more attentive. I took note of how often I would see attendants cleaning throughout the day. That was impressive for a smaller spa, great attention to detail! The Restaurant staff was exceptional and the front desk personnel were very pleasant as well. We had a Shuttle Driver which was wonderful, he watched out our group whenever we entered the Lobby of the Hotel. I would highly recommend the Stamford Marriott for other guest's consideration.
