"The Ultimate Getaway!"
Once we arrived we really had a hard time wanting to go tour Santa Barbara as it was just so relaxing. The hotel staff is awesome and we went to be able to just relax and getaway. I took someone special and we will now have memories for life.Genuine Expedia guest review
Have read previous reviews complaining about the hotel needing to be updated. Could not disagree more. The colonial style fits perfectly with the Santa Barbara vibe, there is no need to modernise facilities. They are in pristine shape as it is, with the grounds being beautifully spectacular, and the rooms highly comfortable and elegant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This is the perfect get-away from San Diego"
As multi-year travelers to Santa Barbara, we were not previously familiar with this treasure adjacent to the tony community of Montecito. The hotel and resort can be a stand-alone experience, but it can be enriched by the four block walk to the lovely shops and restaurants on Coast Village Road, as well as the spectacular walk/jog/bike ride along Canal […] Road past the Santa Barbara Cemetery to the Santa Barbara Lagoon and bird sanctuary. "Fabulous resort!!.. only one critique.."
The Four Seasons Biltmore was a fabulous way to end our CA vacation. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the food was good (expensive) but delicious and the service was fantastic. My only critique was the pro tennis coach. I took a lesson from him and it wasn't what I expected. The hour together felt more like his opportunity to get praise […] for how many celebrities he knew, what restaurants he could get us into, and what tennis players he knew, etc. rather than a private tennis lesson. At one point I had to tell him that I just wanted to hit balls.. and we could chat about best restaurants etc. after. For the price I paid for an hour lesson, I would have expected dedicated attention to helping me learn tennis, not a poll on how popular he was. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very friendly and attentive staff - one of the best I have encountered in my travels. The Four Seasons is a beautiful hotel with good food and s staff that is first class. I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Most relaxing place ever"
Complete 5 star experience like no other. The Biltmore has got it down and it all runs like clockwork. Worth the extra money and then some. My first stay in Santa Barbara but I know I will be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"True Four Seasons experience next to the beach"
We had wonderful 3 days, the service and the friendliness of the staff was nothing short of what you would expect from a Four Seasons hotel. The pool is not by the beach, but it is very pleasant. I strongly recommend the restaurants, everything we tasted was exceptional.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A legendary hotel with a fabulous location"
This beautiful, well-staffed, and immaculate hotel lived up to its reputation for excellence. The spa is fantastic! The restaurant (BellaVista) is delicious, beautifully situated, and staffed with well-trained, friendly people. The valets were terrifically helpful. My only issue with the hotel is, given the price of the rooms, that they charge for internet […] access. This is an insult. In this day & age, with everyone connected via their mobile devices and tablets, charging for internet access (in an already very expensive hotel room) is tantamount to a crime. "Grand Dowager of the CA coast"
love the location. Despite the hotel's age, it's still meticulously cared for. The bathroom in the room I occupied was a hedonist's delight. The over sized soaking tub and herbal toiletries provided a welcome relief after a long hot drive down the coast. The room I occupied was noisier than I anticipated and the bed linens weren't quite as luxurious […] as the Biltmore brand would infer but, the beauty of the setting makes up for such shortcomings. There are two pools and the Pacific Ocean is right across the street. Take time to stroll through the gardens. They're beautifully designed and maintained. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Service from top to bottom"
Great service from check-in to check-out. The hotel building is an old/historical building, but the service from the quality staff are above standard.Genuine Expedia guest review
"One of the worlds best Hotel's"
the best ever. The main reasons I feel this is one of the worlds best, Is the location, sheer timelessness of the Hotel's design and quality of construction, the Gardens are off the charts, It is truly a must do for a get away.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Lovely - great hotel. Quite beautiful. We would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"great for family vacation"
staffs are very friendly and helpful. I was at the bar at 10pm and asked if I can ordered seafood linguini which is not on the menu. the waitress told me they would try to make anything as long as they could do it. She make my day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"California Beachside Dream"
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara. Attentive staff, beautiful 1920's Spanish architecture, an incredible beachside location, the smell of fresh flora everywhere from the gorgeous gardens, and romantic classically appointed rooms with beautiful classic spanish tile bathrooms. "Best of both worlds"
We LOVED our visit to the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara. The hotel is beautiful and you can't beat the location! You can walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping and hikes are a very short drive away. The rooms are in need of some updating, but the amenities and grounds of the hotel make up for anything that the rooms are lacking. Tennis is […] free and guests have free use of the club across the street with an olympic size pool! We will definitely be going back as soon as we can! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very close to being a "5"......."
We were absolutely blown away by the beauty of this hotel and the grounds. Staff was super friendly and professional......The only reason they are not getting fives for everything is 1) We arrived at 3:40pm, well after check in time, and were kept waiting in the lobby for 45 minutes for our room. We noticed others waiting also, and one family of 4 with […] 2 small children had been waiting an hour. We finally had to go back to the front desk and tell them how long we had been waiting before we got our room. Throughout our stay of 3 days we noticed the same thing every afternoon. We received a small basket of fruit and a phone call from the manager apologizing, but they need to correct this. 2) This is an upscale hotel, but I still want a coffee maker!! We don't want to pay $10 for a pot of coffee through room service or wait until after 8am when they serve coffee in the lobby. Other than those 2 issues our stay was terrific and we will stay again....It's gorgeous and homey. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We don't often splurge on expensive hotels, but you can't go wrong with the Four Seasons Biltmore! The service was impeccable! Response by Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention and I apologize that we were not present to greet you properly upon your arrival to the Resort. It was unacceptable and should not have happened. We are disappointed to hear that any member of our staff was rude or impolite and will address this issue promptly. Everything about the Four Seasons Biltmore was outstanding.....from location on the Pacific Ocean to hotel amenities and our room (loved the beautiful Mexican tile in the bathroom ), etc.. Worth every penny.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Over all good..."
Mostly good minus our experience at the bar. Drinks were costly and the service could not be described other than abhorrent. What made it so bad is the refusal to acknowledge our party. We had to flag down employees any employee for help while people who sat long afterwards had drinks and food. I sincerely hope it wasn't due to the fact they were all […] white and out party was mixed but it certainly felt that way. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

When we arrived the day before Thanksgiving , hotel was beautifully decorated in fall mode. On Friday morning we came down to breakfast. Hotel had transformed to Christmas!! "Fabulous 15th Anniversary vacation!"
We had an adorable little cottage. The room was clean, very cozy and comfortable. We felt private even with windows open because of all the beautiful vegetation. "Nice and Relaxing"
I had a nice stay - primarily due to our dinner at Tydes and the olympic size pool. The actual room was decent, but we were in a room that seemed to be one of the only "ocean front views," which was hardly an ocean front view (more like a rooftop view with a sliver of ocean). That said, it was a fun experience, but I probably wouldn't return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Needs to provide necessities."
Hotel is lovely, rooms adequate...not Four Seasons standard really. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend for two reasons: No HDTV, and no in room coffee makers. I mean, comon. These are provided in much less expensive hotels and it makes not sense to be toting oneself as maximum in service and not have these two things. Gives the guests a feeling […] that the hotel is skimping on the very things that we depend on having available and need. Won't go back until these things change. "Old dumpy musty gross hotel"
Place was built in 1927. Its on the water and the ocean has taken its toll on this place. Owners have not put $ into the place that it needs. Response by Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara Thank you for your comments. We truly appreciate your feedback and apologize for your recent experience at our Resort. I am especially disappointed to hear the property fell short of your expectations, as we take pride in maintaining a sense of historic luxury while constantly working on improvements to make guests feel comfortable and at ease upon arrival. Our GM, would welcome the opportunity to connect with you directly and speak about the challenges you experienced in more detail. Again, we apologize for your negative experience and hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back.
THis is an incredible place. It is pricey so you should expect great service. The service was excellent. From the valet, to the front desk, all staff was pleasent and helpful. The restaurants are very good. The pool area is gorgeous. THe grounds are manicured and beautiful. Housekeeping literally cleaned our room several times a day including turndown […] service. My only minor complaint was wi-fi. I was told that the hotel just went to wireless. I was never able to access it. I tried laptop, phone, ipad etc. I called and they were helpful but I honestly didnt really need it so I didnt push it. But was a little frustrating. Only other minor issue was the TV in the room. Honeslty, we were not there to spend lots of time in the room but the tv was a little out of place in such a beautiful setting. It was mounted on the wall but it was an older sylvania thick-flat screen silver tv. Just didnt fit the room. Also the controller was a $2 controler that was so old all the numbers and words were fadded off so was hard to use. I know I am nit picking but this is the 4 seasons. "Beautiful hotel, very average room."
Room was not impressive at all and the room service is super expensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"How could it be worth the cost?"
The service is excellent: lovely, friendly people, etc. But not only was our small room (compared to other Sanata Barbara hotels) very expensive, the costs keep adding up. Extra charges for internet use (with the rates they charge, that's ridulous), expensive even to self-park, etc., etc. I don't mind $30 dinner entrees if the food is excellent, but […] theirs is only fair. We had twin beds, not two queens, so we could not sleep together. My bed hurt my back, the other bed was all right, but both mattresses were substandard using their peers as comparison. The pillow cases had designs in them that were uncomfortable to lie upon. Turning it over brought up a side full of wrinkles under the exterior that made it impossible […] to use. There were king sized pillows in the room, and no standard. The rooms were made up very late in our section. The toilet paper falls off the roll onto the floor with every use. The coffee in the spa is substandard. The spa was very nice, the selection of spa clothing for sale was dated and no thought was put into the selection. The room service was nice, but the choices were limited. This is an interesting historic property redeemed by the personal service, the grounds and the general beauty of the place. "Beautiful Old World Style Hotel"
A beautiful hotel with great views and excellent service. The food was excellent and the hotel has an intimate old world feel to it. It's a bit pricey, which I didn't have a problem with except for the fact that they then nickel and dime you on everything. WiFi is $10 per day per device, a movie on demand $17 and parking $32 per night for valet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel but has some WIFI problems"
I stayed 3 nights at the hotel with my children while we were in the area looking at universities. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds and surroundings are beautiful. I could never get a Wifi signal in my room and when I called I was told that even if I changed rooms that they could not guarentee that the problem would be solved but […] they did offer me free service in the lobby. I had to go sit in the lobby to check my email which was not nice since I was trying to set up appointments and was traveling internationally so did not have data roaming on my phone. "Best in town!"
This is far and away the best hotel in Santa Barbara, from its location right on the beach, to the beautiful and immaculate grounds and amenities it offers, to the absolutely perfect service! I hosted a small birthday dinner for my wife there, and they treated us like a full […] blown wedding reception.. .and for a very reasonable cost. A short version of a long review is simply this - I arrived at the hotel at 6pm and the next 12 hours were simply heaven - from the grounds, to the staff, the bar, foom service, food, to the spa and massage. "Perfect Location Needs Morning Coffee Bar"
What a view we had from our room and breakfast patio! The facility met its billing insofar as views, services, menus and holiday decorations are concerned.
