"Please don't stay there"
I was extremely disappointed. I got the worst room in the hotel. My alarm clock didn't work. The A/c had no controls. I was unable to take a bath because the tub would not fill. I would not recomment this hotel to anyone!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"fix the Gnats or fruit flies"
This hotel was good. I was not expecting things like a refrigerator or microwave to cost money to have. The rooms were good size. The shower pressure was low and I like a good shower pressure. The pool was great and the gym was awesome too. The best part was the bed in the room. If they could fix the cost for refrigerator and microwave and the fruit […] flies, I would come back again. I could not enjoy my time at the bar because of the fruit flies. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was booked for 5 people (kids ages given on website). The max capacity for the room was 4 people. We were told a roll away would be a fire hazard and they were booked solid so they could not change our room. One of my kids slept in a chair in the room. He thought it was fun BUT I DID NOT!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Looks good from the outside but rooms are filthy!"
The elevator smells like urine, I had to switch rooms because the first room was very smelly, dusty and has damaged lamps and damaged sliding closet glass door. I was happy to and surprised by how quickly I another room key was sent up to me. I hoped for a better room but the second room was just as dusty. As I pulled back the curtains, dust were literally […] coming out. The bed sheets had an unpleasant smell to it. Too much to list. This was my first time ever being in a hotel room where I was really disappointed and dissatisfied with the cleanliness of it. To make matters worse, I was billed $25.00 after checking out which I was not notified of while I was checking out. I'm still not sure what the money was for. So, look out for unexplained billing after check out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel for price"
Hotel needs a little updating but it's nice staff was very friendly and accommodating a great dealGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very poor service and the hotel run down"
The service that I received from the staff was very poor. The lobby looks great but the overall appearance and the rooms are old and in such a desperate need of restoration. There are many hotels near by so I would recommend looking at other options if considering to stay in this area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

One of the best Hotels I have been at for the price. Clean comfortable. Next to interstate so just 10 minutes from downtownGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Booked the room through a third party agency... We didn't have the king bed when arrived, instead had 2 double beds. Room was musky... After complaining we were upgraded to the suite at no extra cost. The suite was super nice... Will stay there again..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Just wish they had more people working the front desk at checkout ! 1 employee for 20 people? What a long wait!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Massive, Very Old Hotel, Clean but needs repair"
This hotel was clean. However, it was huge and very old. The locks were old and malfunctioning. Moldy vents by the shower, dated and spooky carpet in the hallways. Phone did not work. Has three elevators, one of the very quietly tells you what floor your on in a very spooky way. Overall this hotel was creepy like out of a Stephan King movie. To be […] fair it was clean and the bed was comfy and new. Nice toiletrys. Another weird thing about this hotel is that it is not on google maps. Strange place. Won't return. "Manager needs lessons on management"
This hotel was large and lovely and a good bargain. What could be improved? #1 if the Manager is aware that 200 people are all checking out on THAT day - have more than 1 person working the desk while chatting in the lobby - the fact that you "can't work the computers" does not negate your responsibility to schedule and assist/manage those who do #2 […] - actually clean the room where people are staying for more than 2 nights(we NOTICED the room was not vacuumed and faucets were not cleaned). #3 - leave additional soaps and shampoos if they are being used. #4 DO NOT KNOCK on doors before 9 am to "CHECK" if you can clean rooms on day of check out if check out is at NOON! Unfortunately we were bumped from our room. We attended a marine graduation at Parris Island and ended up with an emergecy. I called the hotel the day before and explained what happened and that while it was unlikely we would make it the first night we would be there the second night but expected to pay for both nights. I spoke with a person named Doris, […] she said that was fine. When we arrived the second day, the hotel had given our room to another guest. We looked everywhere for a room in the area without success and ended up sleeping in our car in the Embassy Hotel parking lot near the airport. Thank you for asking about thoughts. "Will stay here again"
The hotel has recently been renovated and was quite a find on Hotels.com. I would stay here again as it is easy to access from the interstate and close to Charleston, Daniel Island and shopping at Tanger Outlets.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what I imagined"
The employees went well beyond expectations, they were great. The room itself needed a lot of repair, but it was comfortable. The hotel was located a few miles away from the ocean, that was great. The neighborhood however was pretty darn scary.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
2nd stay here. Both times were satisfactory.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good stay at the Plaza. Room was very clean, kids loved the pool, and food from bar/restaurant was very good. General upkeep to the hotel was good, but small details here and there, to include lobby floor repairs and indoor pool facility repairs would have made this a 5. Overall...price was good for location and amenities, no worries about cleanliness […] and I would definitely stay there again at Hotels.com price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I would not recommend this place to anyone. While the price was decent, it's likely due in part of the distance from downtown. The customer service was very poor and lacked any communication skills. Once arriving, they gave me a room with another family in the same room! The room I received next was very dirty and I needed to ask for additional bedding. […] On the last night, the night manager wasn't helpful and very rude in helping fix a common situation. Overall, very unsatisfied. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice old hotel that could use some remodeling"
This hotel was very comfortable and I didn't have any complaints, except one of the elevators didn't go to my floor (there were two other elevators that worked fine though). The room was very comfortable, but it needed some remodeling. Same thing with the outside of the hotel, hallways, etc. The lobby was really nice and updated though. But everything […] was clean and comfortable, so I would still recommend it. It is about 15 minutes from downtown, so be prepared to pay to park if you head down there. My wife and I didn't budget for paid parking, so we ended up spending an additional $50 just on parking in downtown and at Folly Beach (over just two days). We could have rode a shuttle bus to downtown for $10 a piece, but we wouldn't have had the luxury of having our own vehicle to leave whenever we wanted. So long story short, it may be a good idea to stay in a hotel closer to downtown, but you will probably pay more for hotels downtown though. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Would never stay there again, Is a dump."
We asked the hotel concierge to have our rooms next to each other. Our friends go to open the room to find another guest on his bed exposed. They give them another room down the hall from us. Our room conditions were terrible. I found a candy rapper in my comforter. The following day we come back from a 5 hour day in Charleston to find our door not […] completely shut. Our stuff was not locked up for an entire day. Our phone was left in the shuttle going down town. We call the front desk and spoke with Percy the shuttle driver. Nice guy he let us know he would be leaving the phone at the front desk. When we got home late and approached the night manager and said my phone should be under my name and room number at the front desk. She did not even look and said we have no phones here. I then explained we spoke with Percy and he told us it would be up here. She then corrected her self and said well I don't see it and she opened 2 of probably 12 drawers behind the desk and said I am sorry you will have to wait till 5AM when Percy is back on shift. I told her that was unacceptable and she could put a little more effort in. Mind you it was 1:30AM in the morning and we are the only people at the desk. She then realizes I am not leaving and calls Percy at his home a 1:30AM in the morning Percy tells her where it is. Directly in front of her a drawer down with a huge envelope that says my name. I booked this hotel because I was really excited by the pool area and it's close proximity to the airport, and it didn't disappoint for the most part. When I checked in, the young man who helped me mumbled and didn't make eye contact, and both the indoor and outdoor area of the pool had used towels piled up all over the place. Furthermore, in our room […] there were bits of paper and plastic garbage on the floor around the bad, and underneath the covers. It kinda spooked me, so I slept on the bed without the covers. "Nice hotel, Good Value"
The hotel was clean and offered many amenities. They had a great pool area and the rooms were comfy and clean. "Great place to stay!"
Had a great time staying here. There was a shuttle that would take you to and from Charleston for a small fee. Percy the driver was amazing and did a terrific job. "Not a bad stay for a good value"
This was one of the least expensive, yet decent, hotels I could find near Charleston. It is only about 10 minutes away from downtown, and not a terrible drive - right on the highway. We rented the room just to crash and didn't even shower. This is a good hotel for exactly that, not really a romantic hotel. We had rented a King bed on Expedia but got […] two queens - we didn't mind. The airport is very close, meaning there is some plane noise - a few very loud ones around evening, but not bad overnight. Overall a decent hotel for a good price - less than half the downtown hotels. I would rate it higher if not for the air conditioning unit being so incredibly loud and rattle-y! Nice hotel and the price was right though was a ways out from where we wanted to visit which was the historic district, but that was the trade off in price, so was expected.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I was told that the double beds were queen size beds. They are more like full size very small. Breakfast not included like the other surrounding hotels and the price is about the same. ...hotel needs an upgrade. ..the lobby is nice that's what get you inGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was clean and comfortable but getting to it was the issue. The hotel had only 1 desk clerk to check in. (I did have a reservation.) She was clearly not up to the task to go solo. "The Beds are so comfortable"
The bed was so comfortable... we even checked out the pillows to see what they were so we could buy them. The only negative, our coffee maker in the room was broken and we had to check out at 5 am - before breakfast - we need coffee in the morning :)Genuine Expedia guest review
The rooms was outdated once you got past the lobby. The fixtures in the bathroom were broken and their was a plumbing problem that was not addressed prior to the stay. I was disappointed because its not a 4 star hotel as listed, but the staff was very pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I got the room with a good discount. $99.95 plus tax was well worth the quality. The customer service personnel helped me to check in early, and with our dogs. The front lobby of the hotel and workout facilities are very nice. Unfortunately the rooms were disappointing compared to the rest of the hotel. "Overnight at the Charleston Plaza Hotel"
The hotel is very conveniently located. It is super close to the airport and only about 9 miles from the historic district. The price was reasonable compared with most other hotels. I figured out once we got there why everything else was so high, it was graduation weekend. The hotel is OLD and is showing ware for sure. I had to ask for a different room […] when we first arrived as one of our beds seemed broken and leanie. They were gracious and prompt and got me another room right away. It was pretty clean and comfortable. Just OLD. My favorite thing about the whole place was the pillows. Great pillows. Looks like a really good place for families, they have indoor and outdoor pools. This is a well run hotel in a good location for visiting Charleston. It is a bit faded but very clean and comfortable. "Visually appealing lobby, outdated sleeping rooms"
The hotel had my reservation incorrect. Andre at the front desk had me wait in line while he tried to modify, then asked me to step aside bc the "other people in his line" needed to get into their rooms. I stated, "I do too" I kindly obliged, went to the bk of his line. When I came up again, he gave me the same lame excuse that it would take too long […] to complete my res so he needed to take care of others first. I went to my car, called hotel mgmt. asked them to meet me in lobby twice no one showed. I got back in Andre's line when I got to the counter again he finally worked on my res which took all of two minutes and gave me my keys!!! I was angry that he was more concerned with getting the line down rather than handling an mishandled reservation!!! I was a customer just like everyone else. this treatment was unacceptable!!! even the guests that were waiting were indicating they didn't mind waiting while Andre finished my check in. Just plain non hospitable. Wrong industry for him Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Clean, comfortable, good service. Loved the indoor outdoor pool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed overnight with my spouse and children. No problems with reservation or check-in. Room seemed clean, and staff was welcoming and friendly. Our room was a basic room with two double beds. Beds were comfortable (softer than most hotel beds I can remember). Room included a coffee maker, coffee, tea, as well as a hair dryer provided in the bathroom […] and a large screen TV with 20-30 cable channels. And of course the standard hotel fare (soaps, shampoo, lotion, etc,). I chose this hotel mainly for the pool, as that is what my children enjoy. There is a heated indoor pool connected to a regular outdoor pool. Indoor pool is a tad on the small side - not so great if crowded, but we went early in the morning and swam in relative privacy. The kids loved it! Pool offers cabana-style seating and poolside towels. No lifeguard. Pool hours were 7am-11pm. *On a side note, if you are traveling for the beaches or downtown Charleston area, you should be aware this is Northern Charleston and, honestly, lacks the charm of the historic areas. (Travel to Folly will take around 30-45 minutes depending on traffic) but the trade-off is a much less expensive stay than those hotels closer to the coast. The drive is not bad, and wouldn't deter me from staying again when visiting the Charleston area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Decent hotel for the price"
Overall, this is a decent place to stay for cheap. The room had a big red stain on the carpet next to the bed, but other than that the room was clean. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The vending machines on the 8th floor were out of almost every drink, and the elevator broke on the morning we left; however, maintenance fixed it fairly quickly. Hotel was in a GREAT location! Close to shopping and the coliseum for our event. Awesome service! The room was very comfortable - we slept like babies.....The only (and WORST) problem: the bathroom (of ALL things) was NOT CLEAN.
