Great location, close to underground and restaurants and good base for sightseeing. Room was very small, we had a twin room and beds were on wheels which was not great. Bathroom was very small. Hotel doesn't look like it's been updated in a long time but was clean. Accomodations were adequate but expensive given the quality.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Value in London"
I wish that I had known about this hotel before. It was truly a find. This is the nicest Holiday Inn I have ever seen. The service was terrific, the location excellent and convenient to everything you could need, the food great, the rooms very comfortable and well equipped. The price was outstanding for London.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Excellent hotel - with god service and great location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Took 2 days to get a room with air conditioning. Treated me as if I was lying to them. Kept saying they were sending someone and never did. Finally got a new room. Didn't appreciate having been doubted. If they had come to the room the first time I called they would of realized immediately.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good stay, great location. But they have a ridiculous policy on WIFI charges--$8/hour and not much savings per day or multiple days. You cannot get free WIFI anywhere in the hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Short stay and great location"
We are senior husband and wife that travel on our own and use London as two night stop to our European vacations. The hotel is in southwest London; well connected to major tourist attractions; steps from restaurants and pubs (for all pocket-books), supermarkets, underground/train station and hop-on hop-off bus stop (we used as transportation to major […] attractions); it is located a few blocks from residential streets; all of these factors give it a major advantage Princess Diana's memorial in Kensington Park is a good walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is very big by European standards; about the size of the some of the largest Las Vegas hotels; the concierge was available at all times and answered our questions readily; the lobby was very busy but never felt crowded; we never had to wait for elevators more than a few seconds. We had a very quiet room in the second floor. The room was small (typical of European hotels) but comfortable; it had a coffee maker and a non-stocked refrigerator which we filled with purchases from the supermarket; the room had a safe, very small closet, ironing board, good black-out drapes and a hair blow dryer; the toilet seat level was very low by American standards. The room was very clean but had not been recently renovated; it was well maintained but needed a "face lift". Taxi from Gatwick Airport was about 100 pounds and taxi to Heathrow airport was about 60 pounds. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Too expensive for what you get."
We booked it because it is on the Picadilly tube line which we meant to take to Heathrow airport at the end of our stay. Unfortunately, that station was under renovation when we were there so we had to take another line to another stop and transfer, involving many stairs. That is not the hotel's fault, but the breakfast is not included, nor is there […] free WiFi. We paid for an hour (5 pounds) and it was very slow. The coffee in the room was bad instant. One of the beds had a big hole right in the middle of it and was therefore uncomfortable. We stayed at other hotels on our trip that were less expensive and more comfortable. Enjoyed most parts and would recommend. Reason for imperfect rating was it took so long for the hot water to come. Had to let taps run for a long time. Seemed like a waste of water. Also did not like the 'service' cards being left all over the ground across the street on the corner. Was very clear what 'activity' went on there during the night. Downgrades […] the neighborhood. Other than that, enjoyed our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Breakfast and very convenient location"
One temporary issue. As of May 23, unit December, the Picadilly line does not stop at the nearest tube stop - Gloucester Road. This is a slight inconveniece. Otherwise this is location is extremely convenient. Walking distance to Hyde Park, Natural History Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum. It is located on the Picadilly (note temporary exception). […] District and Circle line, which give you quick access to everything (Heathrow, Paddington for Oxfored and Windsor, St Pancras for the Eurstar, Touristy London, Docklands, Kew Gardens). Breakfast is excellent. Chow down and all you will need is a snack until dinner. South Kensington is a wonderful neighborhood. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was clean and well layed out, if a little small. But that is to be expected in most of Europe. Staff were very nice. Hotel was close to tube station. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Could be better"
We had just flown in from Alaska, our friends were waiting for us in the lobby. I checked in and the clerk said there was no water on our floor. All I needed was a shower before going out!! She checked us into a very tiny room so I could have a shower and then later we had to re check in to our prepaid room. Our room was an "executive" room and true […] to European standards was still small, however we had access to the business lounge and that was great! Nothing was extraordinary here, and didn't compare to American HI, especially considering the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location in London"
I've stayed at the Holiday Inn in Kensington twice before. The location is SUPERB and the room sizes OK compared with other hotels. I realized that by booking on the internet, guests are given the smallest rooms available. So, when I mentioned that to the receptionist while checking in, he was polite enough to assign a slightly larger room to me. The […] bedroom had 1 queen bed and one smaller one but no desk for working on my laptop. The bathroom was very tiny - a miracle how they can configure it to fit a bathtub, toilet and sink...The concierge was very polite and everyone at the desk was pleasant. They answered all of my questions. The breakfast buffet is huge with all varieties of food you can imagine. Also, I ordered a taxi for taking me to the airport and it was there on time. Overall, location is very important and proximity to metro (tube) plus walkability in general are on the top of the list. It all worked fine! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Disappointed with the room"
My sister and I expected much better than we got. The picture of the room with two twin beds was much nicer than our actual room was. The tub was so high I almost had to hurl myself into it. When I sat down to use my computer, my sister could not move much around the room without crawling over one of the beds. On one day of my 8-day stay, the maids […] never came back to the room to clean it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, but misleading advertising"
The location of the hotel is perfect. Nice area close to restaurants and a tube station with 3 lines running through it. The hotel itself is ok for travelers not spending much time in the rooms. The room was clean, which is very important. However, it was very small, to the point where it was difficult to find space to store luggage. When we first arrived […] in May, the heat was on, which made the room stifling. It was not possible to control the temperature in the room, as it was controlled centrally. After calling the front desk, the system was switched to AC, but it was so cold that we had to wear sweatshirts to bed every night. Interestingly, the front desk said they would send someone to our room, but no one ever showed up. We also called the front desk to ask about the refrigerator being warm, and were told that someone would come to the room, but again, they never showed. At that time, we were told that the refrigerator was actually a "cooler," not a refrigerator. That was very odd. We discovered the source of the problem (it wasn't plugged in) ourselves, but after plugging it in, the items stored were still lukewarm. Most importantly, the advertising on Expedia was misleading. It stated that there would be an in-room safe. There was NO safe. We relied on the presence of a safe when booking the hotel. We had to devise our own security measures, which is simply unacceptable. "Tallest hotel in a great location."
Our room was on the top 28th floor with outstanding views of the city. The room was small but adequate except for the lack of water pressure and on and off hot water. The location is a half block from the tube with good restaurants near by.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Love this hotel"
Love everything but hate the internet charge!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel at a great price (by London standards). Large, clean room and perfect location (half a block from the tube).Only drawbacks are immensely over-priced internet and VERY slow elevators. Overall, we would highly recommend it and WILL stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel near train station."
It's very convenience. It takes only 5 minutes walk to Gloucester Road Tube Station. If u don't expect too much. The hotel is fine. The room is very small but clean. We need to pay 5 pounds per hour for internet. Many restaurants are near the hotel. The supermarket is near the hotel. Easy to find the Victoria and Albert Museum.Genuine Expedia guest review
"My First London Experince..."
The staff was very helpful with all my needs. You have to try the breakfast at least once. A bit expensive at 12 pounds as a hotel guest, but excellent quality and the staff are helpful with special requests. The lobby appears busy most of the time, but little wait to check in or out, etc. The rooms are functional(small for U.S. but spacious for Paris) […] and adequate(clean and neat) without elegance. It's only a block away from the tube station and the neighborhood is clean and safe.Taxis were out front every time I went out the main entrance.Elevator waits can be long as one was out of order on our trip. The cost of internet is very expensive,16 pounds/24 hrs., yet you can buy it for an hour if that's all you need. Luggage check-in is available if you're too early for room check-in. Would I stay here again???... I do plan to stay here when I go to London in the future. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

First, the hotel is so accessible to the tube! It's only one block away from the Gloucester Road station. We had a two twin bed room and the room was small, but reasonable for two people. "Like grease with a side of butter for breakfast?"
Ugh. Most airport hotels are pretty awful and this one is certainly no exception. Rock hard bed, my back ached the next day. The usual beat up furniture and fixtures. The usual bland food in the bar. The usual extreme high price of a pint in the bar, happy hour or not. I didn't even want the second pint but the barman had already charged my room for […] the two for one special so what was I gonna do? I poured half of it down the sink in my room. Terrible breakfast. I mean, barf. How the English can eat this crap in the morning is just beyond my ability to understand. Grease on top of butter with a side of beans. Gross. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Relatively inexpensive hotel in Kensington, London"
A nice hotel in the Kensington area. The business center was being renovated which made it a little difficult, especially since they charge for internet. Our non-smoking rooms were not on a non-smoking floor which meant every time we left our rooms we were inhaling stale smoke. The rooms themselves were very clean and smoke free. The staff in the hotel […] and attached pub were very helpful and pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Perfect for our needs"
Was right across from the conventions host hotel. Rooms were cozy but clean. Staff was very helpful. My only complaint was on the 26th floor the water pressure was a bit low but I personally like strong showers. Breakfast was great. Easy In and Easy Out and there was always a taxi waitingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My girlfriend and I thought this was a really nice, clean hotel that was located basically perfectly for us for the week we stayed in London. Its a couple of minutes from Gloucester Road tube, which is on the Piccadilly/Circle/District lines, so a handful of stops to the very center of London, and only about 40 minutes (with no line changing) to Heathrow. […] Its also an easy walk from the hotel to the Natural History Museum and the V&A. Very close to the hotel is a grocery store, a bunch of good restaurants, and a handful of pubs, all of which was great for those evenings when we didn't want to go back into central london. The room was clean and maid service was good. The room was small in comparison to Holiday Inn's in the States, but I've stayed in a range of hotels in London, and the room size was pretty typical for a London hotel. It certainly wasn't problematically small, simply compact. We'd definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
