Had a Company party there this year. Will never go back!! They had another party going on in their ball room. We we standing in the lobby in front of the ball room and were told we would be arested for being in the lobby 50 feet away from the ball room. Then told to go to our rooms! The was nice and had a balony facing Post Oak, giving a nice view of uptown. Even with the balcony door open, the traffic noise is extremely quiet. The location is within walking distance to the Galleria, other shops, and excellent restuarants - Maggioano's Italian is at the back door! The hotel is extremely clean. The valet is pretty pricey for Houston, […] but the attendants are really fast. There's a Starbucks in the lobby that serves amazing breakfast sandwiches. My only complaints were the placement of the air vent/placement of the bed. It was in the corner blowing directly over the bed, so with the heater bearly on you start burning up and with the air you freeze out. Also, I feel the hotel could provide a decent blanket or comforter - only sheets on the bed and a small, weird, sponge-like blanket stuffed in the closet (Really Hilton? It's 34 degrees outside). Hotel was under construction, my room had damage on the walls, and you can hear everything that is going on in the hallways. Although it was nice to have a balcony, my neighbors were a bit loud. This hotel is being renovated and they don't tell you that and still charge full price for a room - there are other hotels in the area that cost less and that are much nicer. "Lovely Weekend Getaway"
Everything about the hotel was wonderful. My only complaint is a guest with dogs had an accident on the elevator. Instead of shutting the elevator down for cleaning, it kept moving and I stepped in it before I realized what it was! Disgusting! The doorman told me he was aware of it and would be cleaned up. Spent a couple of nights for a romantic getaway. The bathroom had muddy footprints and a suspicious hair in the bathtub.
