Hotel room was great and view of water was awesome! Just one complaint about dripping water in bathtub, very wasteful. Also weird humidity when we stepped outside of room. A/C inside room was great. "Parking was expensive"
Never use the pool , because of the kids , also kids were running around almost all night , I arrived at 11 o clock , ask for early check in , they took my number to call me when the room is ready , nobody called . Nice and clean good breakfast and happy hours , will stay againGenuine Expedia guest review
"old stomping grounds"
we used to live right across from here so it was good to be back. i have no major complaints except for that checking in wasn't as welcoming. breakfast was more than sufficient. location is supreme. we'll definitely be back when the rate is right.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Some very odd design choices"
What were they thinking? A 5 ft x 5 ft picture window between the Living Rm & the public access corridor outside? Cheapest looking (new) naugahyde couch ever. All dark brown furniture & cabinetry, chocolate brown/beige carpet, yellow beige walls. The balcony is split between adjoining suites with only a short railing dividing them. If you open the curtains […] on the sliding glass door, your neighbor, while standing completely on his side of the balcony will have a perfect view of your bed. From only 8 ft. away! Crazy! Nice place. Had all the amenities expected at an Embassy Suites. Beware it is Valet parking only for $35 Dollars a day. The good price was negated by Valet parkingGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent downtown location"
Outstanding location to explore downtown San Diego. Nice breakfast and afternoon manager's reception. Slim pickings at reception if you are a beer drinker, however. We had a very nice king bed suite, but the couch was hard and uncomfortable. Overall, a fun stay, but we did not have a car. Those who did pay $35 a night for valet. Pretty chaotic in front […] of the hotel when retrieving cars. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good vacation location!"
Took my wife and kids on vacation and stayed here and they loved it!!! The only thing that I really didn't like was the ridiculous parking fee amount of $35 dollars per night here at Embassy Suites!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Okay in a pinch"
This is one of the few suites in downtown San Diego, and since I was traveling to SD for 2 nights with 3 others, this was the more economical choice; as oppose to getting two rooms for two nights. However the hotel's design is poor, the service is so so, and the hidden fees comes fast and furious. This isn't my first time in SD and there are a lot of […] better choices out there than this. In fact, just about every hotel around it is a better choice. First the hotel design. This hotel has a huge atrium where the food court is located. Sound carries upward, and it's quite noisy up to the 6th floor come breakfast time. The hotel has FOUR elevators total, and during peak usage hours it's a nightmare going up or down. The service isn't great either. The valet service (there isn't a self park option, so you are stuck with 35 bucks a day by default) is slow, and they want you to call them 15 min to 30 min in advance. At peak hours, this phone service does not work and you'll have to go down in person and wait. The rooms are set up for two, even though they charged me extra for having extra people. When I asked for additional cups, glasses, blankets and towels, it took forever to get them. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, ultra hard springs and super thin cushion. Finally, there are all kinds of hidden fees attached to the bill. SD tourism tax, valet parking, additional guest, etc etc added up to well over 200 bucks on top of the listed price Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My family and I took a summer vacation starting in San Diego and ending in Santa Barbara. Needless to say, we stayed at several hotels throught out our trip and let me tell you, the Embassy Suites was by far the best. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they even helped us by checking us in early due to a VERY early flight, they were so accomodating […] it was unbelievable. The room was very clean and comfortable which for a family of 5 was just what we needed. Breakfast was yummy but the lines are really long (if you wake up late). The cooks were ready to meet our needs and those of our children's with a made to order omelette. We'll definitely stay there again. Oh! and did I mention the manager's reception in the evening? snacks (light) and a bevarage of your choice - perfect way to relax. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"family friendly hotel"
Rooms were a little worn, but very well kept. Hotel offers fantastic views of the bay and down town alike. Breakfast is a firewall 5! Pool is nice and convenient for kids. Bartender was clueless and drinks were full priced for hotel patrons. Fantastic location offers quick access to zoo and sea world. Valet was convenient, but pricey at 35 a night for […] 5 days..... "VERY NICE HOTEL NEAR SEAPORT VILLAGE"
Very nice hotel, but crowded and only has valet parking. The breakfast is very good and installations are well conserved. It is within walking distance of a very nice shopping center "Seaport Village" and some restaurants. Rooms have plenty of space, clean and very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient and close to the zoo"
While my mom was very pleased with her room, I was given (for no explained reason) an accessible room, which is actually not super-convenient for a taller person without those needs. Sinks and bath/shower fixtures were at awkward heights (I had to crouch to wash my hair), and the closet had only a low-hanging rack under a shelf, which was a problem […] since I was unable to hang my dresses. I frequent other Embassy Suites and am familiar with the bathroom layout. My room, 917, strangely had the bathroom shelves boarded up, an exposed pipe under the sink, and all the amenities laid out on top of the counter. Were I in a wheelchair, I'd not have had access to them, so that should be investigated. The valet parking situation is quite narrow and crowded, and although there is a call ahead option, i got a recording saying they were too busy to do that, which rather defeated the point. I understand it's summer in a family entertainment area, but it was highly evident that more staff is needed during the season. i won't let this experience undo years of positive ones with the Hilton group, but it was certainly not their best effort. However, all things considered, one still gets value for one's travel dollars at any Embassy Suites. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel and amenities but the only option to park is valet or street meters. Valet is $35 per day. Our car was dinged and scratched. They need to have the option of self parking. Driveway is way too narrow. There was always a traffic jam.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't bring a vehicle"
Hotel is immaculate & beautiful location. The valet is in desperate need of a management overhaul. It took an hour for them to get our vehicle one day, & 45 min the next. Breakfast on the Saturday was a waste - line to get in to breakfast was also an hour.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location-parking can be expensive"
valet parking for 35/day is expensive especially if they forewarn you that you might have to wait 15-30 minutes for your car during busy times. Street parking is limited but we luckily found something both nights we stayed there-for free! Easy walk to gaslamp and seaport village. Drinks/snacks and breakfast a great bonus for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect Location / Terrible Parking arrangements."
Hotel Location is just perfect, you can just about walk to everything.. MOrning breakfast was great if you arrive before 7:30 am, then its a feeding frenzy that they are not able to keep up with.. Very long food lines after 7:30AM. Parking is just terrible with a Valet option only at 35 per day..Genuine Expedia guest review

"Convenience in Downtown!"
Very nice hotel and location was very conducive to downtown and easy access to I-5.Genuine Expedia guest review
At check in, given wrong room, didn't have correct one. Spent 1st nite in it. Room nice, great layout, just no balcony as we reserved. The desk clerk led us to believe that we would be compensated for the inconvenience but nothing was done. Then moved to room with balcony per our reservation. Room showing signs of wear, loose towel rack, loose faucet […] handles, and 1 episode of malfunctioning toilet. Stay was still OK, however no free internet service and limited TV channel lineups were very disappointing for hotel of this caliber, In summary, first room was very nice, quiet, just lacked balcony with harbor view. Second room was OK , but very noisy, and balcony and harbor view were overrated. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Overall good, only had problem with parking"
The hotel itself was great, but there was no option to self park. You were forced to valet. And it was $35 per night! Hotels.com only said there was a surcharge for parking. Looking at the rates for other hotels in the area, I figured it would be $10-$20 per night and that you could self park. I was shocked at the $35 price tag. Whatever deal I thought […] I was getting on the room was blown on the parking. The valet was also super busy and very slow. Very annoyed that there was no self park option. "great location for business and sight-seeing"
I spent just over a week here for business and continued through the weekend, turning it into a short vacation. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The services provided (like the large breakfast every morning and complimentary happy hour drinks and snacks in the evening) were surprising and very much appreciated. Breakfast service does indeed […] slow down around nine AM and after... tables were nearly always full and the staff had trouble keeping up with bussing. Had my room cleaned three times while I was there and was very satisfied with the room condition afterward. For one person, the two-room suite was plenty of space to get comfortable and spread out for such a long visit. Many families seemed to be taking advantage of such a decent room rate for so much space, too. Nice extras on the hotel grounds: swimming pool, hot tub and small exercise room. Great location for sight seeing: Seaport Village is a short walk away, as is the Gaslamp District. Easy to get to the Midway and Maritime Museums, and access to trolleys and buses that will take you farther, to the nearby SeaWorld or San Diego Zoo. Pacific Fish Co. (on-site restaurant) has a great menu and friendly staff--you might see friendly faces at happy hour, too! If you're a coffee fan, skip the Starbucks on-site (which was closed during my visit at the end of July 2013) and find Brickyard Coffee, at G and Kettner! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
