A GREAT LOCATION, GREAT ROOM SERVICE, VERY COMFORTABLE SLEEP IN OUR LARGE VERY CLEAN ROOM. BEST OF ALL WAS THE AMAZING STAFF! WHAT A FANTASTIC GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT WORK AT THIS HOTEL. THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR TRIP MEMORABLE! Walking distance to Regent street shopping, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hyde park and a small grocery store directly across the street. The bus tours are great for getting around and learning about the city. We've stayed here before and we will stay here again.

Wonderful stay. Staff terrific. I had a noisy outside disturbance my last night and the amazing night manager on duty Nasir moved me immediately to a different room. This is a very nice hotel with great location, great amenities and terrific staff.

We stayed at the Mayfair for a long weekend from NY. Taking the overnight flight and arriving at 10:30am they were able to put us in a temporary room and at 3pm that afternoon move us into our regular room. In addition the concierge was able to get us a table at a great restaurant for a special dinner. To top it all off I left some cash in the safe on leaving which was recovered. Amazing. Our room was great. Comfortable and quite with a great bathroom. The hotel location was perfect. Close to the West End but not in it. But the staff is what really put the hotel over the top!

My husband and I arrived at the May Fair Hotel on Boxing Day, 2013. From the beginning, it was a terrific experience. We stayed for 9 nights. We were greeted by a very friendly person at the front desk. We received our room immediately upon arrival. Unfortunately, the non-smoking room smelled of smoke as soon as we got inside. Aside from that, it was a lovely room. We called down to the front desk immediately and they re-assigned us to a new room. In fact, because we were staying for 9 nights, they upgraded us without us requesting to a Luxury King room. It was on the 7th of 8 floors. I have to say, it was one of the quietest rooms in which I have stayed. The hotel staff was very professional and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We were in Mayfair right at the Green Park underground station. Very close to Buckingham Palace, and 1 tube stop from Piccadilly Circus. It was so central to everything. We have traveled in many places in Europe. London is our favorite city, and the May Fair is now our favorite hotel. We will definitely be staying at the May Fair the next time we are in London. Everything was great- the only problem was that we had to pay for an upgrade to a larger room in order to have a third person in the room. This occurred even though the Hotels.com site said the larger room we requested would accommodate three. It wasn't clear if it was the hotel or the web-site error, but we had to pay. Everything else went well.

This is my third time at this hotel. It is well located. You are basically one block away from The Ritz, and The Wolseley, the latter being a great restaurant/tea place. You are very close to Green Park and its metro station, and not far away from Hyde Park, therefore it's very convenient. The shopping streets, like Regent, Oxford, Bond, Old Bond, are not far away. My experience was great, and in short, I love London and I love this hotel.

My wife and I are Americans living in England because of my job. We stayed here because we wanted a nice place for a weekend away from the kids for our anniversary. Since we have lived here a while we always have mixed expectations for anything we do, but this hotel overall was very nice.

The location is great. Close to Picadilly and the West End. Near Green Park tube station. Quiet street. Room decoration is the only thing I didn't like. Wifi is included and works very well. The room is tidied up several times a day which is great.

I've stayed at this particular hotel many times in the past. If you are an American it will be up to standard for what you expect a hotel to be. However, do not arrive expcting your room to be ready at 3:00 per your reservation. On a number of occasions I have arrived early (my flights from US usually bring me into London about noon) and I leave my luggage at the hotel and occupy myself (and sometimes family) until 3:00 when our room is to be ready. On too many occasions my room is NOT ready and then the game begins with the staff claiming one different excuse after another thinking a weary traveler will be ok with this. I've been given the run around by staff one too many times. After traveling for 22 hrs and paying TOP dollar, all rooms should be ready for their guests. I recommend if you are tired and need your room on time (while paying a prmium), stay somewhere else.

Traveling with 2 children in Europe we found it difficult to find rooms large enough for four people (rather than using two rooms), but the May Fair had a "family size" room with two queen size beds which worked perfectly. Upscale hotel, with excellent staff and appointments. Easy access to shopping, restaurants, and the Underground. We had one problem with the room, which was corrected courteously by the staff.

Over-rated... We got an extraordinary discount and have wanted to stay there for a long time. In short, the hotel needs a soft renovation. The hallway carpets are getting near the end of their luxury. The ceilings on the passenger elevators has fingerprint and hand smudges - subtle but totally not necessary for a hotel that has such a great reputation. This is a £300-£500 a night hotel. Not a £500-£1,000 a night hotel UNLESS because we got a great online rate they gave us a less than tip top shape room but that still does not not explain their high rates with much of the hotel "starting" to get worn at the edges. It is still a nice hotel.

First of all, I have to say that I really hate to leave poor reviews but when a hotel is unresponsive, it is kind of unavoidable. The doorman WROTE our room number IN BALLPOINT PEN on my beautiful designer leather luggage tag. I was horrified to say the least. What kind of person does that? You'd either have to be really clueless/oblivious or not care at all - not sure which is worse. I tried to reach out to the hotel but to no avail - auto response said they would get back to me within 48 hours. it's been a week. SECONDLY, when we ordered a margherita pizza before checking out and received a pizza with arugula - no tomatoes. We were in a rush so we were unable order another. While our room was pretty nice, I'm not quite sure I would return again because of my experience.

The hotel was pretty pleasant and the room was spacious and comfortable. The choice of scent in the lobby was a bit strange. It was nice to have a fairly late checkout and a real tub to unwind after an overnight redeye flight. The included breakfast was quite enjoyable, as well.

I stay at this hotel often. It is well located near my office and I like the Mayfair neighborhood very much. The rooms are comfortable and I'm happy that wifi is free rather than the outrageous charge that most nice hotels add. I highly recommend this hotel.

We have stayed in 5 star hotels and this is not one of them. It is a nice hotel in a great location but does not provide 5 star service at all. Actually, there isn't much service at all. At least 3 to 4 times during our 7 night stay we had to ask for extra towels because there weren't enough towels in our rooms. Our daily rate included breakfast and afternoon tea. Breakfast buffet was wonderfu, and is well worth the extra money. The afternoon tea was just okay, nothing wonderful to talk about at all. We are American and have stayed in London before at other hotels that provide much better service for less money. Most people that stay in 5 star hotels do so for the special service they provide for the money you pay. This is NOT one of them.

The May Fair Hotel had excellent accomodations, service and location. The room size was good and the bathroom was well appointed with a free standing shower and a bath tub. The location was an easy walk for me to go to Hyde Park/WInter Wonderland, Harrod's, the V&A Museum, Picadilly Circus, etc. The hotel was next to a "staging street" for the New Year's Day parade, which was nice to see without having to fight the crowds along the parade route. My room was not noisy on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. My only suggestion would be to make sure non-smoking rooms are in separate corridors from smoking rooms (or separated as much as possible), because on my last night there was a group of heavy smokers who checked into the room next to mine and the smoking was so bad around midnight that the hotel staff moved me to a different room.

The only drawback about the hotel is the room temperature, I had to keep the windown open to keep the room temperate not too warm since it was maintained centrally and not from the room itself.

We have stayed at the May Fair twice now and both times have absolutely loved our time there. The staff are friendly, courteous and go out of their way to accommodate you. The hotel is in a prime location...just a short walk down the street from the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly Circus. The rooms are large and the beds are amazingly comfortable. Beautiful hotel in a nice area. Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. My only complaint does not have to do with the hotel directly, but I was surprised by the panhandlers on the corner very near the hotel that we had to deal with on the way back to the hotel every evening. For the type of hotel and the nice area we did not expect to be accosted in such a manner upon returning from dinner each night. These men were rough and pushy and did not take no for an answer - it was frightening and considering we did not encounter this anywhere else on our travels I thought it was worth mentioning in the hopes that the hotel might address the issue for the safety of its clientele.

Actually the first time that I have stayed here (or frankly knew it was there). Great location and overall fantastic atmosphere. Rooms are cool and the staff very welcoming. Previous reviews focused on the noise in the corridor but cant say that this was an issue - would definitely stay there again.

Nice Staff running this hotel. Our room was ready when we arrived which was a blessing. We have stayed here before and rooms can run small, but this one was perfect. Always love that there is a grocery across the street and Starbucks steps away. This hotel gets a lot of late night action and twice there has been lots of noise in the halls after midnight. This last time it was an Hotel staff talking to a man in full voice. But overall, hard to beat the Mayfair.

Perfect location, very quiet, and good for informal meetings. The rooms are well equipped with ironing board, etc. which is very helpful and convenient. WiFi is free, fast and easy to login. Right across the street from a Sainsbury's grocery store and literally there is are three Starbucks one block in three different directions.

BEWARE OF SMOKING. The hotel is in a great location in Mayfair, near the Green Park tube station, walkable to Trafalgar square/Covent square. My wife and I had only 1 major criticism and I felt it's worth letting people know. We stayed in a Deluxe King NON-SMOKING room, which for the first day smelled fine. But the next day after we got back from touristy things the room completely reeked of cigarettes as if 10 people were smoking in our room. I opened windows, asked housecleaning to spray the room without success, and decided the only way it can come into the room is through the vents. I asked to change rooms but they didn't have a deluxe king available until the next day. That evening a horrible hotel alarm went off at 5am which scared the bejesus out of us, and as it turned out someone was smoking in a non-smoking room which sets off the hotel armageddon-like alarm system. After we finally switched rooms (day 3 out of 4), the new room didn't smell like cigarettes but the bathroom reeked, especially when you turned the water on. We didn't want to spend our vacation moving rooms and we decided to suck it up, but neither my wife or I smoke, I get allergies and she's pregnant so if you find you have a sensitive nose to cigarettes, beware of this issue when you decide to stay here. Throughout the process, they tried to be super accommodating and appeared genuinely concerned about the issue so i feel bad knocking the hotel, but it is a problem.

Hotel is located close to Picadillay Square, about 10min walks if you dont stop along the way to look at all the shops. Also close to Chinatown, subway,Starbucks and there is a grocery store across the street. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Great hotel in a great area. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The room was a little spartan for a luxury hotel, but I think that was just a difference between the US and the UK. Overall, it was a great experience and I will stay there again.

Undoubtably the best Hotel in Mayfair. Great attentive service and check in/out with ease as always. Stayed in a King Studio this time round which was incredibly comfy and quiet. This was my 6th time staying at the May Fair and certainly won't be my last. Back again in July.
