My husband and I stayed there one night to be close to the airport. We checked in late and left early, so I'm not sure about food, but coffee was great. "We Never Stayed At The LaQuinta"
We were issued 1 confirmation number by Hotels.com for 4 rooms. Cancelled all 4 rooms per 1 confirmation number with Hotels.com. The hotel cancelled only 1 room and assigned the other 3 rooms each a confirmation number and charged the church credit card for the rooms. We were never made aware of the other confirmation numbers or that the rooms had never […] cancelled. When we contacted Hotels.com we were told that we had to take the issue up with the hotel. "Hard to find room not already occupied!!"
I felt like the hotel was more interested in quantity of guests than the quality of service being given to each guest they had. I had paid in advance for my room with simple requests to be on same floor with family members, to have a crib, and fridge in room only to be told upon check in fridge and microwaves were sold out, I was 2 floors away from […] my mom, and they were still looking for a crib. By 2am on my 10th call they finally admitted there would be no crib, needless to say we all got no sleep that evening. The next night my mother in law was to spend the night and when we went to check her in we were sent to 2 rooms that were occupied before I demanded the third room be checked by a staff member before sending me again to an occupied room. The security guard checked the third room and it too was occupied, she never came back, the fourth and final room was checked by a maintenance worker it was finally empty and then we were told it was non smoking, the only reason my mother in law booked her own room and was charged 50 dollars more a night than my room was because she wanted to be able to smoke!! This was horrible! Other than that!! Once in the room, beds and pillows were comfy, my room was a little on the small side, and karaoke bar was fun on Friday night. They need to fix their computers and their staff to get friendlier people who care about the guests and get enough fridge and microwaves for every room and cribs if need be! First of all the staff at La Quinta was excellent! We had a cancelled flight and I called the hotel to see if we could get an early check in. The lady at the front desk was extremely nice and understanding. They were able to give us an early check in and the room was comfortable a clean. The hotel has a bar. No big deal except we were greeted upon arrival by a man trying to make his way to a cab who could not stay on his feet. La Quinta is no 5 star hotel, but if you're looking for a clean and affordable place to stay, then this is it. The staff is kind and accommodating, in particular Shanice. She works the front desk in the afternoons and she is amazing. She made my stay that much better. The rooms are clean the bathrooms were fine as well. My only real complaint about […] the room was the distribution of outlets. There were a bunch on one side of the room and there were none on the other. Breakfast was adequate. The waffle machine allows you to have something heavy in the morning if that's what you want, and everything else is your typical continental breakfast. The restaurant downstairs has tasty food. It is not a go to place if you're looking for good Louisiana food, but if you don't feel like leaving the hotel or eating McDonald's there's nothing wrong with it, and the bartender is also very kind and sweet. The hotel is not far from other restaurants and shopping places. So if you are on a budget and need a cool place to stay, this is it. My family and I stayed for 3 nights for the Shoecon that was going on. It was a really great stay besides checking in on Friday and it being a bar inside that went on until about 130am. Get on the third floor because you can still hear the base on the second. Other than that, the stay was great.
