Quality Inn & Suites, Santa Cruz Mountains - Ben Lomond

The scenic environment makes up for a sparse breakfast service, rooms are clean but not crisp, the carpet was dirty, the pool unusable. Mother nature makes up with a beautiful setting with redwoods on the premise. Would come back to see it all again, with lower expectations.

The motel was clean and staff friendly. Was great location for our Zip-line adventure and Roaring Camp train trip. Santa Cruz boardwalk was just around the corner.

Though our stay was more of an overnight sleepover it was a nice place to stay. Would recommend it to those who enjoy the outdoor activities such as hiking, bike riding and nature walks.

The staff was very friendly. The room was clean. We did not care for the breakfast which consisted of all carbs. There was no fruit or protein at all. The internet did not mention that the pool would not be open. That was disappointing. The area was very nice.

While visiting our UC Santa Cruz student, we usually stay in Santa Cruz, but this time we chose a different location in the town of Ben Lomand and the redwoods. They equipped my coffee machine--which I depend on in the morning--with 4 packs of decaf coffee! I took them to the office and asked if they had any real coffee. The clerk went rummaging around in the back and said she was sorry; no real coffee. I had a great time. The location was perfect; there is a wonderful coffee shop and a nice and affordable market down the street. My only complaint was the treatment I received upon chrckin. A new lady was working at the front desk. Apparently, their machine was not working and as a result, she could not verify my payment. In dealing with this situation, […] I felt blamed for not paying and threatened to have to leave or pay a higher walk in rate in cash. However, when I checked my credit card statement online, I noticed I had I fact been charged up front. I feel that if I did not have the technology to nullify this situation, I could see myself being really upset in that I may have paid twice. My wife and I stayed for two niights 10-11 Nov 12. Room was good except air conditioner/heater was extremely loud and ran all night. Tried turning it down to 65 but still would cycle every ten minutes or so. Got use to it by second night. Overhaul this is the only thing that kept it from a higher rating. We still enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is located in a beautiful, but secluded, area of the Santa Cruz mountains. It is a very quiet area where you can relax and enjoy the big trees. If you are looking for nightlife or fancy eating establishments, this might not be your best choice. We were extremely happy with the accomodations, the hotel staff, and the scenery.

The motel rooms were pretty ack. There was black mold all over bathroom ceilings. Thankfully I was able to keep window open and close off from room. The rooms were dated.
