"Very clean, comfortable, convenient, and quiet."
I had never stayed here before, but have been in several surrounding hotels in Crystal City. This one topped them all.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Food Service could be improved"
On Sunday, before 7 am, there's no coffee except the bad stuff in the room. I ordered a vegetable pasta one night from room service, and the dish was about 95% pasta and 5% vegetables.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had a wonderful stay at the Crystal Gateway Marriott! The hotel was great and the location was even better. We loved the easy access to the metro and the shops from the lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

quite near to the metro station ,and the staff is nice , quite good experienceGenuine Expedia guest review
This is a great hotel. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance. there is a metro station and a mall right under the hotel. its super close to all the must see sights in DC and arlington. and the best part is it was VERY affordable. great staff too. parking was a little expensive, but it was worth it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Need better food selection in the area."
Nice staff. Very helpful staff. Room was cleaned early every day. Seemed to have a difficult time finding good restaurants in the area at a reasonable price with a healthy selection for children.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel but unbelievably overpriced."
Decent hotel but not worth the $600 I spent for one night for one person.Genuine Expedia guest review
Website said pool would be fixed by March 1st. We were there march 13-15. After a long road trip a pool would have been nice. But noooooo housekeeping told us while we were waking around the 2nd floor looking for it that it was closed still.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect hotel near Union Station and the capital. Awesome for a nice run on the national mall.Genuine Expedia guest review
Good stay overall. Great location. Great price. Hotel food pretty expensive. Einsteins messed up my order for breakfast :-( Elevators were out of service so the wait was longer than usual.Genuine Expedia guest review
Just stayed one night before a flight from DCA. Great room. Only two minor beefs: there was no indication about what restaurants the hotel had, and I got confused by the thermostat, but I think that was my fault. We stayed there again a week later on our return. Very nice, worth the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was wonderful. The rooms are huge and clean. I wasn't as thrilled about the tile on the floor in the bathrooms because if it gets wet, you're going to slip. Stacy at the front desk was very helpful on checkin. Metro access and overall drive time to the city are perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just need a mini bar & everything else is perfect"
Nice hotel, convenient location. Connect to the metro with out leaving the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
When I arrived at the hotel the receptionist greeted me and was able to pull my reservation right up. When I walked into my room it was extremely clean and looked very comfortable. Nice flatscreen and a king size bed even the bathroom was very niceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great value close to all the goodies!!!"
Attended a conference with my son at DC Armory. Easy metro to Armory with stop super close to hotel. Shops nearby for incidentals if needed. Airport 5 minutes away, cab $8. Clean rooms. Paid a few dollars more on Expedia for included breakfast, GREAT value. Would stay here again without hesitation.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Asleep at the switch"
We stayed at this hotel for the pool and the concierge service floor and the free shuttle to the airport. The pool was closed and the concierge room is closed on the weekends, the shuttle bus did not start early enough for us to make use of it. There where drunk kids partying in the halls all night. Management needs to pay more attention.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Crystal Gateway Marriott Dear Eric, we are very sorry that you did not have a great experience at our hotel. We strive to provide excellent service and obviously failed here. Please accept our sincerest apology for the issues you encountered. We will certainly be using your feedback to assure the items you mentioned gets addressed. Thank you for your loyalty and we hope to see you back.
"Fine hotel, with one flaw"
This is a fine hotel with one flaw. They charge for wireless service in the rooms, and the service is not great. Come on, get into the 21st century and provide internet service free. This is like airlines charging for baggage. Or worse, since everyone nowadays wants internet access, whereas not everyone needs to check a bag.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great hotel and great surroundings"
I went there for a conference. Got discounted rate via hotel.com. Pentagon city mall walking distance. Reagan airport 10 minutes away. Hotel has free shuttle every 20 minutes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was very nice, especially for what i paid. The staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. The food is great too, and reasonably priced for this area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"For ordinary mortals, it doesn't get any better"
We could easily have paid so much more for our room and the EasyParkFly option--leave car, sleep in room, take hotel shuttle to the airport--but this was an outstanding choice. Everyone was extremely polite and attentive, room was pristine, beds were so comfortable! The only problem we encountered was actually getting to the hotel, as the signage in […] the Crystal City area is inadequate, and even with a map and GPS and one driver and one navigator, we found ourselves going around in circles. But still an A+ choice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Front desk staff not helpfull"
Front desk staff very unfriendly .i had already paid parking with expedia but was asked few times to pay again until I showed my email.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Crystal Gateway Marriott We are very sorry that you experienced this level of service well below expectations-both yours and ours. We strive for excellence and obviously failed here. Please know that this will be used to further train the staff on proper handling of such issues. We truly appreciate your feedback and again would like to apologize for the issue.
The hotel was very centric. The staff was very pleasing specially the concierge, who made us an impossible dinner reservation! The rooms were very warm for my comfort, they changed our room but still was warm, maybe was a general malfunction. I will stay there again, in general was a fantastic hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Marriott Gateway Review"
Hotel was good, but could not get an internet connection even when I went to the lobby. I was willing to pay for it, but could not get a connection until they hook me up with an ethernet cord. Only one elevator working and it took a long time to get it. No electricity the last night and did not know until I left the next morning that they had a complimentary […] breakfast in the lobby. Excellent location for self park or Metro. Large comfy rooms. Close to shopping and restaurants. Underground stores and train station a plus. No need to go outdoors in bad weatherGenuine Expedia guest review
"Decent choice if it's a low price"
Prices were crazy low all over the city, I'm assuming because no one is really traveling the first week in January, so we got a heck of a deal ($66/night via hotels.com). I picked this one because of it's great location (it is literally connected via tunnel to the Crystal City Metro, 1 stop away from Reagan), and because it offered a pool, gym, etc. […] The bummer with that is that the pool was closed for renovations & it wasn't noted on the hotels.com web site, and the gym was hard to find and far away from our room. There was supposed to be an Einstein bagel in the Lobby, but that was also closed. The check-in process went fairly smoothly, the front desk personnel were very friendly, so that's always a plus. The first room we received just felt wrong when I walked in... it had a very musty/moldy smell, and the heat vent was making a loud banging noise. I was trying to just get over it, but I finally called the front desk & asked them to move us. They brought up new keys & we relocated to a different room. The bed was very comfortable & you couldn't really hear any street noise. My only complaint about the room we ended up with was that the bathroom still had a weird sewage-y smell. I never heard anyone above us or out in the halls. The only other negative is the paid wi-fi (free wi-fi only located in the common areas). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"price vs. quality"
We spent 4 night in this hotel and we paid a good rate, however I don't like some things like the kettle (the machine that make coffee), it's never work. All nights we had to ask for towels, because only the staff put 3 and we were 5.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel with one flaw..."
They charge you a bare minimum $26 a night parking fee, even if you are a guest in the hotel. $30 if you let the valet park your car for you. On the weekends you can park in metered street spots for free. Just make sure that you're out by 6 AM on Monday morning, or you risk getting your car towed. Other than this, the hotel is great. Friendly hotel […] staff, and super convenient to the DC Metro system. You just take the ramp in the lobby down to the station, and can be in the main D.C. area in a matter of minutes! I would recommend it, but just beware of that ridiculous parking fee. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonable but not spectacular"
The room rate was very reasonable, and I was pleased about this, but the hotel was not up to par with other Marriott hotels. Food at the Atrium was disappointing, amenities like towels and robes were worn down, and they did not even have a concierge person working through the 5 days of our stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful, upscale hotel!"
Close to the metro (access through lobby), GREAT staff who was waiting to do all they could to meet our needs, and all done with a smile!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for a DC stay"
I was pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Crystal Gateway Marriott. The staff were friendly and helpful The room was spotless and looked to be recently renovated. The pool was also undergoing renovations, which was disappointing as we were there with children. However, the Crystal Gateway's sister hotel is located across the street and offered use […] of their pool, which was spacious and staffed by a lifeguard. Our favorite aspect of the hotel, though, is the tunnel system that lies under it and that is accessible right from the lobby of the hotel. The tunnels lead right to the Metro, as well as to the sister hotel. There is a theater, grocery store, pharmacy, and restaurants (we loved the Mexican restaurant and lily Bubble Tea and Smoothie). The weather was rainy during our visit and it was such a treat to be able to get anything we might need without even having to go outside! The tunnels are clean, spacious and brightly lit. We would have given the hotel 5 stars without their presence, but the tunnel system (and access to the Metro through them) really made our whole trip! We will definitely stay at the Crystal Gateway Marriott the next time we visit the DC area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loved the metro station accessible from the hotel"
Excellent hotel, great value. Very comfortable beds, clean, and spacious room. Having the metro station being accessible from the hotel lobby was the best. Would stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Near Attractions-Very Accommodating Staff"
Considering the circumstances, PAN AM 103 25th Anniversary, I thought the staff was very attentive and understanding. The committee for the anniversary had a block of rooms set aside. I used my rewards night for Saturday and Marriott ensured that I was on the same floor as the rest of the group. The hotel is conveniently connected to the subway by an […] underground mall of various stores/ATM/bank/restaurants. The main attractions were within a 10 minute cab ride or subway ride. The Pentagon City mall was one stop away. Subways are very clean and run efficiently. When we needed a cab, the staff hailed one for us and explained the rates and distances to sites of interest. Oh, and then there was the complimentary coffee during the day followed by hot cider in the evening - nice plus! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"What A Difference Marriott Makes In Your Travel"
Location, Location, Location. It was an excellent experience from helpful staff, comfort and accessiblity. Marriott made a positive difference for my diabled nephew new to the area. "Great lobby and lounge area at the Crystal Gateway"
The Marriott Crystal Gateway has a huge lobby and nicely updated lounge area to the right at you walk in. There is also a tunnel connecting the Crystal Gateway to the Crystal City shops, which is nice. Staff when checking in and at the Concierge lounge were great and very friendly to hotel guests. The only downside was the heating/AC in my room, which […] didn't seem to work very well. In order to cool the room down, I had to turn the thermostat to a setting much lower than the temperature I wanted. Otherwise, it was a great visit. Would recommend to others staying in the area. Super location! Walk to metro station in a completely enclosed and well lighted passage way. Plenty of places to eat in within walking distance. Pharmacy close by too. Great room. Best of all.... the hotel staff. Arrived early. Asked if possible to get an early check in. No problem. Slight issue with room key upon arrival. Would not open door. Went […] downstairs got another. Still wouldn't open. Housekeeping tried their key for me. Battery system was out. Back to front desk told them I was happy to wait the 20 minutes or so for the battery change out...no need to rush...desk clerk said they were sorry and there was no need for me to wait. Gave us a room upgrade complete with concierge service. Could not have been any nicer. Comfy beds. Quiet room. Great breakfast and snacks. "Stay to visit family over weekend."
Room was adequate, but light was out in foyer so you could not see clothes in closet or full length mirror on wall. Empty space were refrigerator should have been. We like to purchase bottle water, or juice and keep it cold. To top it off, the people next door were loud and rude. They ran back and forth screaming until 2:00 am.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful location. Metro and shopping on site."
The staff was exceptional. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. One staff member, Troy, went above and beyond to help us with parking, locating sites, luggage, and general information. Every day he was the smiling face in the lobby who greeted us and asked about our plans and wanted to know if we needed assistance with anything. The metro was […] below the motel along with a shopping mall that had unique little shops. Everything we wanted to see was close and easy to get to. The metro staff was even helpful, explaining what our best cost options were for our four day vacation. A truly great experience! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This hotel is very convenient when using the Metro. The lobby is connected to train station and some stores.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a super easy place for a quick over night stay. Close to National Airport, with easy shuttle service, and extremely convenient to Metro. Crystal City shopping is highly overrated and most shops not open on Sunday. Would definitely stay here again for a plain and simple, yet comfortable visit.Genuine Expedia guest review
