When we checked in our room keys did not work, so I went to the front desk and was issue another set and they did not work. So I make another trip down to the front desk. We were given a "room upgrade", but I think it was just talk, we went from the top floor to the fourth floor with a wonderful view of the roof. We booked our stay with breakfast, but […] were not given the vouchers even after I asked the front desk about our breakfast. It wasn't until the wait staff told me I needed to have voucher and I went up and told them i needed the vouchers. That should have been taken care of at check in. Overall it is a nice hotel and is very close to everything. Ton's of places to eat and if you have coming up to go shopping then you will not find a better hotel. If you want to spend some time outdoors there is a very nice park less then a 10 min walk from the hotel. "Royal screw up"
We left home right after we closed our farm market figuring we would drive straight in and clean up before our dinner reservations at Medeival times. Check in was at 3:00. We arrived at the hotel at 6:00 just to be informed that we didn't have a room yet. They offered the pool locker room to use to get cleaned up in. what a joke. They finally gave us […] a temperary room to use. We left our bags behind the check in desk and they would take them to our room when it was ready. We also requested a roll away cot for our son. Fine no problem all of this would be taken care of by the time we returned from dinner. They offered us free breakfast for our inconvenience. Fine. We returned from dinner about 10:00 and there our bags sat, still in the place behind the counter. Finally got into our room but no roll away for our son. I called the front desk twice and they said they would bring it right up. 11:00 I walked to the front desk and was informed they didn't have a roll away bed, they were all being used. Why they didn't tell be that before, I don't know. We made a nice bed for our son on the floor with extra sheets and our comforter off our bet. They did give us the room free. Just got back from a 2-day stay. The staff was great--everyone we talked to was very helpful, had a great attitude; very prompt about dealing with requests. Brought us a rollaway bed and refrigerator, both of which made our stay very comfortable. Great rollaway bed too--one of the more comfortable ones we've had in our travels. Just bit noisy if you expect / need absolute silence but we were on the "family floor" I think--they seem to have put all of us folks with small kids together on the same wing / floor. So not a problem for us! And it was still reasonably quiet--plenty quiet enough for sleep, relaxing, working. Good, reliable Wi-Fi in room. Nice indoor and outdoor pool for families and exercise--esp nice to have the option of the indoor pool b/c of the change in the weather. Will be nice when they finish/ fix the indoor spa/ jacuzzi. And with the last-minute deal we got on Expedia, it was a fantastic value! (Oh, and the hotel doesn't load up your bill with all sorts of extra fees either! So the bill was exactly what we expected.) I wanted to really like this hotel. A friend, who stays there many times a year, recommended it for shopping at very nearby Woodfield Mall. I made my reservation in February, and when we arrived in the middle of July our selected room was not available. Check-in is at three, we arrived at 5:30 to an in-ready room, and when we returned around midnight […] after a concert, we had to settle for a King room for the three of us. "Not what I expected"
My first impressions of the hotel were good. The lobby was beautiful, the staff up front was nice and the hotel looked bustling with happy people. Unfortunately, I had originally thought I had booked a smoking room when in fact the entire hotel is non-smoking. To accommodate me, they put me in a room right across from the courtyard doors which were […] slammed by other guests the entire night. The room they put me in had no bathtub, just a shower with dirty tile and a shower mat that I was not planning on even unrolling. The room had an overall musty smell and the carpet felt slightly damp under my feet. I wasn’t sure if they had cleaned the carpets or if the room had flooded with all of the recent rain we have had but regardless it was mildly concerning. We ended up needing extra items which were supposed to be placed in a bag and hung from our door. We requested additional coffee, a wine opener and makeup remover pads. After 3 knocks at the door we received 2 wine openers and coffee but no makeup remover pads. The back door to the hotel was kept unlocked and there were no security guards or staff outside the door, inside the door or even near the entrance. I never saw any staff walking around the hotel my entire stay, which was reflected in the swimming pool area where there were used towels everywhere.
