The hotel was nice, clean, fairly fancy. Unfortunately the weather sucked, but that's obviously not the hotel's fault. I paid nearly $600 for a 2 night stay for a room with an "ocean view". They put us on the first floor behind a bunch of bushes, you couldn't see the ocean at all. I called to ask for another room and they said everything else was sold […] out. I stayed within Palmetto Dunes as a child and looked forward to revisiting the area on my way between Savannah and Charleston this week. I stay at Marriotts about 7-8 times a year and picked this hotel for a weekend trip due to my experiences, location and price. We asked for a connecting room for the kids but did get a room across the hall and two down, which was fine. However our room did have a connecting door which made it very loud with somebody elses kids in the connected room. […] The only plugs in our room were either under the desk so crawling on the floor, or in the bathroom. This was a quick unplanned trip out from Atlanta. It worked out perfectly - played golf at Robert Trent Jones course - the hotel rented decent clubs - and "ferried" me to and from the course. We had great meals at the Swamp Creek Boathouse and Alexanders, and our room looked onto the ocean so I could capture a perfect sunrise.

booking with hotels.com was not satisfactory they put me in a dbl bed when i clearly stated i wanted a king they assured me that it was a very nice 4 star hotel when there was mold around the dirty old bathroom the marriot blamed hotels.com and said there was nothing they could do abot the bed situation

It is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is so accomodating, helpful and friendly. Can't say enough good about it. The only negative thing I can think of is that the pillows in the room were not what I like. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very Disappointed. Was my first trip to Hilton Head with my boyfriend for Valentines We ended up in 2 seperate beds as the king we requested had a disturbing ugly roof top view. Will not got there again.

Bedsides some caution tape due to work being done at the front entrance the hotel was is great shape. Service was outstanding. Location, right on the beach, was great. The indoor heated pool and hot tub were a nice touch. It was clearly off season since the hotel seemed empty, but rates were good for such a nice property.

Wanted a room where we could see the ocean and hear the surf. After going over the reviews, I decided we need an "Ocean Front" and not an "Ocean View" room. The Ocean Front rooms on Hotel.com were more expensive and non-refundable, but that is what we wanted for a 3 night mini family vacation and thats what we paid for. We arrived around midnight, and […] they gave us room 277 in the south tower. I was a little concerned, since I thought the south tower was mostly Ocean View and room 277 was at the same level as the reception desk. The women on duty assured me it was Ocean Front. Arriving at the room, all I could see was the pool. I returned to the front desk, showed the receipt from Hotels.com stating Ocean Front. She insisted it was, and I was too tired to argue and went to bed. In the morning, my daughter woke me up telling me she found the ocean. All I had to do was look between two trees on the left side of the window. Later, my wife was able to see a portion of the beach between two other trees. After breakfast at the hotel, my wife talked with Linda at the front desk and she moved us to the fifth floor on the north tower. Now that was an Ocean Front room!!! Great view of both the ocean and beach. Linda saved the day. The staff was very professional. A Plus for the room were the very comfortable beds. Minus was there was no microwave. Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa I was very disappointed with the condition of this hotel during my visit to Hilton Head. For example, the balcony off my room #306 presented a safety hazard. The metal guard rail had a huge dent in it and it was loose along the bottom and side where it attached to the wall. Also, the terrycloth guest robes in my room […] were very dingy,hard and really showed signs of wear. Further, the wood around the locks on the door to my room was chipped as if someone had tried to tamper with the locks. In regards to the hotel staff, everyone I encountered was friendly and professional. The only thing worth mentioning, is that at check in the desk clerk was not aware that I had a resort credit as part of my 3 night stay. However, when I offered to show him my confirmation information as proof, he quicky corrected the problem and applied the credit to my account. Read more

This was an amazing experience. Walking in the front door you look out on the beautiful pool overlooking the ocean! It was breathtaking! Staff was so helpful and friendly. You do have to pay extra for parking whether you park your car or they park it for you. It's an extra expense. Food was great by the pool and rooms were clean and roomy.
