"good service, bad quality"
I booked this hotel because of free wifi and proximity to work while I was in the process of moving. My first room didn't have wifi, luckily the girl at the front desk was more than happy to help me find another room, which DID have wifi, but had a dirty, unfunctioning sink. Once again the girl (I regret not getting her name, but she was new, and super […] helpful and apologetic) found me a different room, which was clean, but then again had no wifi. 4th room had dirty spots on the floor and i found a couple hairs on a towel, but I had pretty much given up at that point. The TV Remote didnt work, and the alarm clock was off and difficult to reset. All in all I was fairly dissapointed with this hotel, the staff did their best to help me, but I would be hard pressed to want to spend my money on this hotel again. "Great Location for the Henry Ford"
Judging by the seventies architecture, I guessed this to be a former Hyatt as it looked like the San Francisco Hyatt. I was correct in my assumption. "Good for what it was"
The service was great. The shower ceiling was pretty gross, though, with what looked like rush spots and hairs stuck to it. I know, I'm probably one of the few people that would even look at that. The ice machine didn't work on our floor, either, so I had to keep taking the elevator down one to get ice, and our soda vending machine was all sold out. […] Also, if you're getting in late there's nothing open surrounding the hotel so you have to drive about 5 miles at least to find even a Meijer and a Taco Bell. Those were the only things we could find. In the morning I had to be at my meeting by 8 and, once again, nothing was open, not even a Starbucks within 5 miles! I would choose a different location next time for those reasons, although that's hardly the hotel's fault. They did offer commentary coffee in the morning so I appreciated that. "Road Trip w/ the boys : Not Bad"
Hotel was very well maintained and looked really nice. It is located off the highway next to a mall, movie theater and a few chain restaurants. I did not do my research as well as I thought as I did not know it a conference/convection so we ended up paying a few extra dollas as a result of fees related to the hotel type. No breakfast included, which […] we knew going in and the room was very basic, didn't even include a refrigerator. Beds were comfortable but small. 4 of us didn't not sleep as comfortably as we would have liked. What I found shocking was that the computer access in the lobby was not free I was charged $20 to use it for less than 15 mins to print our tickets for the Tigers game. (Field is about 20 min away). And yes print was part of the cost, $1 per page in black and white. I don't know is that's a standard thing but I haven't been charged for that before. Also, we stayed on the 11th floor and had a very weak WiFi signal and we ended up using the data on our phones. Overall not bad for a night or 2 for the price. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, the service was top notch. I see 2 areas where they can improve. 1) regarding the hot tub. Besides the fact that you cannot see into the pool when in the hot tub, The tub was run over with kids using it as their personal pool. The hotel was impressive on the outside. It was about a 10 minute drive from Comerica Park but it did get us to a better area to stay in with the family. Inside, our kids were impressed with all of the glass elevators and were very pleased that we were staying several floors up so that they would have the opportunity to ride in the elevators. One of the sheets was slightly ripped and the tub wall was a little cracked. Although it was not updated, everything was clean. The pool and exercise area were nice. The pool was warm. It's an excellent location very close the museum, but the area is virtually devoid of character and local flavor other than the museum. "Guest Services & No Price Adjustment"
The hotel was beautiful with sliding entrance doors and valets there to assist you. The front desk personnel was in training so it was slow for he definitely needed assistance but we got through it with him swiping my credit card a second time for approval. Once in the room, I noticed fluffy beds and two chairs, one of which had white stains on it ; […] I covered it with towels. Maid service was very good. The worst part of my stay was the lack of a guest book to let us know what was available as far as menus, tv channels, and other amenities like spa, room service. Upon calling the front desk, we got different answers from different customer service reps. Had to call the front desk to make local phone calls was misinformation given. No instructions on phone for dialing, room service, housekeeping...just a mess! Upon checking out, I asked for a receipt and the front desk clerk told me she couldn't give me one since I booked with a third party.
