"Nice room, broken appliances"
Booked the room on Hotels.com and the site specified that the room would be either two double beds, or a Queen sized bed. It was neither. It was a single double. The site also said the room had a coffee maker. It didn't, although the front desk did have one delivered after some prodding. The sleep-number bed (I paid for the "deluxe" room) had a control […] which rarely worked. The IP-based TV did not work for that evening, it was analog only until I got fed up with the picture the next morning and had maintenace come to the room to fix it... by "rebooting" the IP-based controller. "Last time was better...This time? Ehh"
Decent hotel very close to LAX. Room was fine but had difficulty getting housekeeping in before my visitor arrived at noon. Asked them to send someone while I was in the gym. Did not. Asked them to send someone while I was at breakfast. Did not. Food menu in lobby area is not great. Very limited selection. Main restaurant selection is better but pricey. […] Food is OK, but not great. They normally have a decent beer selection but they ran out of most of the good ones. Had to wait 30 min to get a cab because they contract with one company and refuse to call any others if their contract guys are late. The place is OK. Not fantastic. Not terrible. "Do not stay there if you want to catch your flight"
I tried for over 45 minutes to call the operator, front desk, bell desk, bar and even security. I DID get ahold of room service but they couldn't go check on the front desk. I even called the direct hotel number from my cell phone to make sure it wasn't a hotel phone issue. All I wanted was a wake up call, so I had to wake up my wife to have her make […] sure to call me. I booked this hotel on the Internet. This room was by far the cheapest room in quality. It needed updating & the information in the room said all of the rooms had Sleep Comfort beds. "Valet at Raddison LAX questionable practices"
Interesting scenario took place. My flight to Chicago was cancelled due to weather in the northeast. I had previously stayed at another hotel the night before 1.5 miles away. I had mistakenly left my paperwork behind and needed to get a cab to return to the original hotel in order to pick it up. It was late that night and I went to the valet and requested […] a cab. Even with the $25 per day charge for parking, the price was right compared to other places in the vicinity (which also charged a daily fee for parking). "Short night"
We only had 4 1/2 hours due to a delay getting us to our hotel after 11 pm. The bar was open but in order to get a sandwich you had to order room service. "Only if you have to"
I had to attend a funeral and needed a inexpensive room quickly. I'll start with the positives: If you are catching a flight, you could not be any closer to the Airport. You are basically sleeping in the first terminal. It's perfect for traveling purposes. The lobby is nice, and would lead you to believe that the rest of the hotel would follow suit... […] Negatives: There seemed to be painting going on down the hall I was staying in. About one fourth of the walls were like three different colors. The room looked fine except I was supposed to have a King bed, not two doubles. Then there was hair in my shower. Not just one hair but hairsssss. I always check the bathroom in any hotel I stay in (my boyfriend and I enjoy single night trips often). That in it self was enough to make me feel icky about the room. I was transiting LA and had 7 hours to kill before my flight to Australia so bought a night at a reasonable price. It is ideal for a one or two night layover but I wouldn't stay there beyond that. Shuttle didn't show up for almost an hour after 3 calls to the Raddison. Dirty hallways. Outdated carpet and furniture. Sleep Number beds didn't work right and were uncomfortable. Upholstered chairs in bar where we ate very worn and filthy. Took way to long to check in. Encountered scarey neighbor in next room yelling into the halls about a 9mm gun. Great location if you need to catch an early flight or are arriving very late. The hotel is within easy walking distance once you exit the airport. You can get there much faster on foot than waiting for the shuttle bus. My room was quiet, bed very comfortable and the restaurant's salmon was excellent. Got in from a flight late and had to leave early the Next day. Only waited 5 minutes out of LAX for the (free) shuttle to the hotel where a gentleman did everything with my bags. it was a blink, and we were at the hotel. Super clean room, fantastically comfortable bed. ordered room service and it was there in less than 15 minutes and a man named Carlos […] was extremely polite. Next morning no issues checking out before my flight to Mexico. A different (yet still very helpful) shuttle driver took care of my bags. Such a fantastic experience, i cancelled my reservation for a different hotel i had for my return trip and stayed there. Had a bunch of extra time between my arrival and my flight out, and the Front Desk clerk was extremely helpful with getting me a cab to (and from) Long Beach. Again, fantastic service!
