"Loved the room. Restaurant not so much."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
Our room was spectacular. Right over the water. Opened the window and listened to the river all night. However, we met with friends downstairs for dinner. They were busy, estimated an hour wait for a table. Which would have been fine...but almost TWO HOURS later they had a table ready. Upon walking into the restaurant, we noticed there were only 2 occupied tables in the whole place! WHY DID WE WAIT TWO HOURS?! The hostess snapped at us and said it was our own fault because we requested a waterfront table! There was no such request. We didnt care what table we had. THEN, we sat there for over ten minutes and never even got water, much less were we acknowledged by any of the staff. We walked out. To surmise, our HOTEL room was great, the HOTEL staff was excellent. but I would never ever ever reccommend anyone go to the restaurant. For the prices on that menu, you should at least have water within ten minutes of seating! I was very disappointed in this. Would stay there again, but do not bother with the restaurant.

WE PAID FOR BED AND BREAKFAST,BUT IT WAS'NT EXPLAINED HOW TO GET COMPENSATED FOR THE BREAKFAST,AND WE PAID FOR OUR BREAKFAST IN CASH THE FIRST NIGHT...WE DIDN'T RECEIVE A RECEIPT AND WAS NOT REIMBURSED FOR THE BREAKFAST! WELL THE FOOD AT DINNER WAS TOO EXPENSIVE SO WE ATE A GLUTEN FREE PIZZA ACROSS THE STREET, FORTUNATELY AT CHECKOUT TIME THE MAN AT […] THE DESK GAVE US A "RESORT FEE" CREDIT WHICH WAS ABOUT THE SAME COST AS THE BREAKFAST...I SUGGEST YOU TELL PEOPLE HOW TO USE THE BREAKFAST INCLUDED .OTHERWISE EVERYTHING WAS VERY PLUSH AND THE BEDS WERE SOOO COMFY AND EVERY STAFF MEMBER WAS VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL...EXCEPT FOR THE CONCIERGE MAN..HE WAS RUDE WHEN I ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT IN- ROOM SERVICE.. WE WOULD RECOMMEND THE HOTEL ANYWAY....THANKS Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful stay at Lake Tahoe"
This is just an absolutely beautiful place to stay and R and R. We loved almost everything about it. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful. The only thing that we didn't like was the weak coffee in the restaurant ( is it really that expensive to put in a few more scoops). But the breakfast buffet was spectacular. On check out, there were […] 5 errors totaling over $350 on the bill, so take time to check carefully. Other than that, we loved it!! "A perfectly wonderful family vacation!"
It seems that we live in a world of decreasing customer service .... not so at the Hyatt! Everyone we encountered, from the front desk to the pool staff to the bellhops were genuinely pleasant and eager to help. It was evident that the Hyatt is a wonderful place to be from the pride that everyone took in their work. Travelling with young kiddos can […] be stressful and no detail was overlooked by the Hyatt to ease the minds of weary parents. Popsicles and movies poolside provided a wonderful treat. The delicious dinner buffet at the Sierra Cafe was priced according to the ages of our children. Genius! Add to all this well-appointed spotless accommodations! We can't wait to return next summer! "Nice upscale hotel"
Nice place. It was really nice to swim in Lake Tahoe next to the hotel. Food at restaurants is very good. Family oriented place to create good memories. Did see dogs at hotel, but the seemed to be confined to one area; however I did have dog hair on the end of my bed. I would come back as there is a lot to do at this property. Just bring a large pocket […] book! You will be spending major cash. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but expensive"
In general it’s a nice hotel with very good staff. We stayed at one of the lakeside cottages with double beds in June. The cottages are arranged in a way similar to a U-shape, the opening of the U facing the lake. However because of the relative position of the cottages and the trees in the green area the view is mostly blocked for most of the lakeside […] doubles; the very first two cottages on either side have the best view. If you arrive early you have a better chance to check in one of the better view cottages. Food is very good at the main restaurant in the main hotel building and at the beachfront restaurant. Even though the beachfront restaurant is very popular compared to the other one, the food at beachfront isn’t any better; but the restaurant has a richer menu and is more expensive. One big negative was two events in the garden in front of the cottages: The noise level and barbecue smell were very disappointing. It would be a good idea to call and make sure that there would be no events during the stay before making a reservation. Otherwise paying extra for a room with a view that you cannot enjoy doesn’t make sense. Breakfast included stay makes sense since the breakfast at the hotel is good and more expensive if it isn’t included. Overall this stay was enjoyable. There are other 4 and 5 star hotels around. Those ones could also be good, especially considering the lower rates they have. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hyatt at Incline Village"
We got booked a room at the Lakeside Cottage. I don't recommend the Cottages if you have little kids. You have to take a narrow staircase to get to the room and there is an unsafe balcony. We tried to change to the hotel room's but there was no availability for two double beds. Very disappointed. My 2 year old got a black eye from a chair that was all […] wood. "Hotel Good, Expedia booking, not so much."
I am not certain if it's the hotel's short comings or Expedia. When I booked my vacation through Expedia, I definitely reviewed what amenities the hotel has to offer since it's a family vacation. I wanted to make sure that it is a "kids" friendly hotel and has plenty of activities to offer which they definitely did except Expedia did not mention that […] the hotel is under construction until May '12. Expedia also failed to mention that some of the rooms are not in the same building of the hotel. So when I made my reservations, I picked a room with a "garden" view and balcony. I unfortunately did not get that room, instead our room view was the parking lot and no balcony either. Both beds were making a lot of annoying noises each time you move which makes me think the mattresses are really dated. I do have to say though that the hotel staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. My family and I agreed that we definitely would like to stay with the hotel again but it will most likely be during summer so we can take advantage of the outdoor activities. I think I am going to book our reservations directly with the hotel this time so I am fully aware of what the hotel has to/and cannot offer at that time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A destination hotel"
By the end of our trip I totally wanted to just stay at the hotel for a couple of days and relax and enjoy. And that's just what we did. The pool and hot tubs were excellent, as was the food at the lakefront restaurant and the entertain was fabulous! We loved sitting by the lake; brought our bottle of wine and just read a book for a while. I'm not a […] fan of casinos and quit smoking last year, so I stayed away from that, but it seemed like a nice casino. Having the option to grab a bite from the deli shop was such a welcomed aspect of the hotel. I love choosing my tea leaves by being able to smell them in a jar. We had a fabulous time and would love to return and spend a little more time with a ski day. Great place! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A beautiful retreat"
A wonderful hotel, near all convenient places and resorts in the North shore of the Lake. Main building with all the facilities, little cottages across the road by the lakeshore with gorgeous views. Very warm welcome and service at all times. Great restaurant (though a bit expensive) overlooking the lake. A place to remember forever.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hyatt - January 2012"
Overall had a great time. Hotel is well furnished and has all amenities you need. Couple restaurants and bars on site as well as gift shop and casino. Rooms were nice, stayed in Executive King and bed was very comfy. Location is nice, right by the lake. Most rooms have mountain view, due to location you won't find many rooms with good view of lake. […] Incline Village has plenty of nice restaurants within a 2 minute drive. If you will be skiing Heavenly or spending much time in South Lake Tahoe you may want to find a place there due to 30 minute drive. Pool and hut tub area was nice as was fire pit. Cons: hotel advertises "free valet parking and wifi". By free, they mean they charge you a $21 "resort fee" per day. So free parking and wifi cost me $84 during our stay. Staff attentiveness: Room only had one robe upon arrival. We called first day for extra robe and it did not arrive. Day two called front desk and requested again. Never arrived. Casino: convenient and have most popular games. Not the type of place if you are looking for some fun games/talkative dealers. Blackjack dealers all three nights deal cards, give/take your chips and avoided conversation. Not a deal breaker but we had more fun at the bigger casinos in south lake (Harrahs and Harvey's). "Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort"
Love this location & have stayed here several times. Summer, Fall & Winter. We visit our daughter who lives in Tahoe and just love this hotel. This is the first time we've stayed over the holidays and it was a very busy time for Hyatt and not once did we have to wait long for our car at valet, to be served or seated at restaurants or help with the concierge. […] All hotel staff were friendly and more than happy to accommodate us when needed. We entertained twice at the hotel once in Cutthroat and once in the main restaurant with large groups and it was a wonderful experience. But the best is the Lone Eagle Restaurant, beautiful location with breathtaking views. A must even if just to have a drink. Will be back again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"i would look around before settling on this one"
Too expensive for the level of service and the room quality. Spa was the priciest I have ever seen and I have stayed many nice places with similar profiles. "Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe"
The Pros: 1. The service at the hotel was excellent and very friendly. The valet, the bellhop, the front desk, and the concierge were all great. 2. We dined at Sierra Cafe and Cutthroat Saloon. They both had great food. Kids meals were cheap. 3. The hotel recently went through a renovation which was nicely done. 4. The heated pool can be used year round. […] Yes, even when it's 30-something outside, people were swimming. We were one of them. 5. There's a park across the street from the hotel. It has a huge play area for young kids. I think it would be really nice in the summertime. The hotel has a small play structure, too. And an arcade... 6. Not sure how it happened, but we didn't have to pay the resort fee or for valet parking. Cha-ching! 7. A free 10 min shuttle ride to Diamond Peak from the hotel. Cons: 1. There's a small casino within the hotel. They allow smoking there and the smoke drifts into the lobby area. 2. The housekeeping wasn't thorough. The first day, they didn't replace the coffee cups or the water cups. The second day, they didn't come until late afternoon (we were gone all morning and afternoon), so we ended up skipping housekeeping that day. 3. There's not a lot of stores/restaurants in that area. We ended up eating and buying stuff at the hotel most of the time. Expensive, but convenient. 4. The mixed drinks at the restaurants weren't that great... Stick with beer if you're going to drink. We would definitely stay at this Hyatt again. Maybe this coming summer since the hotel is right by the beach... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel , but with surprise charges"
Nice hotel, conveniently located. But beware! They charge a significant "resort fee" (plus taxes) at checkout, that is very well hidden in the hotels.com reservation. "Hyatt Lake Tahoe- North Shore"
Very nice hotel, wonderful views, great service, dining options were great. Suite was very nice, pools were well attended even in December, very happy with the experience. Be prepared for garbage fees are 33% per night from Nevada for Govt. tax shortfall fee. And the 23% /night for "wireless and complementry?" valet was an ouch not expected. "Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe is a relaxing get-away"
We've stayed here several times and all the rooms we've had featured great views. Just checking in is wonderful as you're greeted by a warm fire and complimentary glass of champagne. We got a great deal on the room, and we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the surrounding area. Fall colors were amazing! The service was great, and we really enjoyed the casual dining / lounge area with its multiple TVs and great food. We were there for the 2011 World Series, and got to watch the series while keeping tabs on the Monday night football […] game, too! Everyone was very friendly. "Bait and Switch"
We booked our stay at the Hyatt online days in advance. We were staying only one and had no need for a suite so we chose a standard hotel room. We arrived at 4 p.m. We had chosen a king size bed when we booked our stay online but instead we were placed in room with 2 double size beds. We showed the bellman our booking print out with a king size bed […] and he told us they had none left. Also, the room was tiny with no ventilation. We woke in the middle of the night dehydrated and miserable. There was no AC and the windows cannot be opened. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. Stay in a suite if you plan to stay at all.
