When I got there they had me on the 15 floor which is a low floor. I went back to the reception and requested a higher floor. They gave me a beautiful room on the top floor. It was wonderful and spacious. Would love to stay there again.

I spent weekend here after coming into Grand Central on the train from working a week a little outside NY. Although the first room they gave me smelt of stale cigarette odour, the next room was a very comfortable king. Subway is directly beneath, as well as the worlds most impressive train station hall. Room wa quiet, large and bed was huge (king) and super comfortable. Rate was very reasonable by NY standards, and overall much better value than my last trip at nearby slightly cheaper hotel, which was shabby. This one is very stylish. This will be my new NYC standard - but I'll be sure to ask for a room that has never been used as a smoking room previously. Read more

Horrible. Barely a wink of sleep. Felt like a rowdy dorm of teenagers who know their parents are twenty-floors away. I notified the front desk about the noise in the room across the hall at 10 pm. There were 6-10 people moving back and forth between rooms, laughing, screaming, opening and letting doors slam closed FOR HOURS. I was so frustrated I wanted […] to cry. Security came once, to little effect. It seems that once you've checked in and disappeared into your room, you become just a cog in the wheel -- completely unimportant. The staff in the lobby at check in was lovely, but that hardly makes up for the loud, obnoxious kinds of guests that the hotel attracts. It definitely doesn't make up for the ineffectiveness of the security to handle the problem. Adding insult to injury, the next afternoon after checkout, we were racing to catch a train and attempted to use the $8 voucher in the lobby market. We were told we needed to charge it to our room and then would be credited. When I explained that we were already checked out, the poor clerk was perplexed at what to do. She made me wait while she summoned a manager to approve my purchase of apple juice, for which (after a night without sleep) I had no patience. What was supposed to have been a nice trip for my mom and me turned into a nightmare. Read more

Not accommodating at all. Needed use of a microwave, none to be had in hotel. Went across the street and used one at CVS. Felt like there were craigslist "dates" taking place in lobby, thuggish atmosphere. Then get up to my room and experience dried vomit on side of toilet in bathroom. Mold on inside of shower curtain. Lousy TV reception. Small couch […] with four very pronounced stains on it. It should have been CLEANED at the very least or removed. I was too exhausted to change rooms but I would never stay here again nor recommend it. I've stayed in cheaper places and with better staff and cleaner rooms. Read more

We came into NYC for an evening for pleasure and decided to stay uptown, as we usually opt for locations in lower Manhattan. The Grand Hyatt was extremely convenient and a very pleasant hotel to spend the evening in. I highly recommend it.

All was great- super fast check in and being next to Grand Central made it an ideal location to anywhere. One block over there was the shuttle bus stop to all the airports. Plan on eating breakfast out as no cheap solution for that. Rooms were modern with touch switches and iphone speaker alarm clock. Would definitely stay again with the kids.

Hotel was mediocre.at times the hot water wasn't working. Front desk was defensive. ...as if I had nothing better to do at 1 am than call and complain about no hot water. They wanted to send someone to the room at2 am to test the hot water. Yeah- I want hotel Mtx in my room in the middle of the nt.

We were at the hotel for a dance competition. Booked a room with club room access which was a real plus and worth the price. Very comfortable beds and clean rooms. Room service prices were ridiculously expensive and the food was not very good.

I was awake most of the night as the people next door fought, cursing and loud. The hotel was outstanding, staff were terrific and room was very nice. I'd hope next time to have better neighbors as it was a fairly sleepless night.

pretty much in the middle of mahattan so locationwise it's pretty much perfect. room was in pretty good condition although we got a back room and there were sometimes loud whinning noise from the outside which was pretty annoying but... other than that everything else was pretty pleasing. staffs were helpful in general.

The staff at the front desks where fantastic. When we arrived our room was not clean. We found hair in the bath tub; floor needed to be vacuumed; food was left in the corner by a lamp. We immediately called the front desk and were told it would be cleaned. We left for several hours and came back.
