"Everything a Hotel Needs to Be"
While the decor is not as nice as a boutique hotel and the hallways were a little scuffed up.. If you can do without the green apples in a white bowl and the cute lobby this hotel does everything you need. Room was spacious and comfortable with a view of the Coit Tower. We got in late and needed food, the lobby bar/restaurant was still serving and the […] food was better than expected. Service was excellent for some tired travelers. Location was great, right next to a BART Station and near the Ferry Building, which is a great spot to grab breakfast and/or lunch. The Ferry Building also has a farmers market on Saturday that was fun and delicious. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. And there was an earthquake. "Close to Ferry Vuilding"
Great place to stay. I wish hotel staff would clean the bathroom walls and doors each time they change a room. I saw what looked like poo on the bathroom wall and door. This hotel can do better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall my experience was great..arrived early and got an early check in. Customer service was great..only wished that room had a microwave..but me and family had a great time...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Grand Hyatt Regency is in a perfect location! There's a Bart station right outside and is walking distance to a number of sites and restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel, located directly across from the Ferry Building. Easy access to public transportation and local attractions. Will consider another stay in the future when visiting SF.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Looking old and tired"
Layers of State and local taxes make San Francisco impossible to afford. This hotel needs a refresh.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, great location"

"Convenient, but unprofessional."
The gentleman at the front desk needs to work on his people skills. Not very personable. I was unaware of the $64 valet fee but was offered to park myself in their lot (which was full) for $33. My $300 room did not come with wi-fi in it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel and view of the bay. Services was excellent! Only negative is the valet parking is twice as much as other hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Large Rooms, Great Dessert"
The room was very clean and spacious. I did pay more for a bay view, but I wanted to enjoy my 4 night stay and did use the large balcony and double sliding windows. Not many TV channels to choose from. The tub and shower are a bit small. There was always a line at concierge, but they had good info when you got up there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location, Nice Hotel, Bad Service"
Perfect location in SF: near all public transit, and the hotel is decent in terms of condition and room comfort. Unfortunately, I found the service awful in that as soon as I tried checking in, the person at the front desk tried to push me into a $200+ "upgrade." When we saw what the room was like, in the corner of a lower floor near an electric closet, […] we decided to cancel the upgrade. The man at the front desk said that was no problem, and the charge would be cancelled. When I got my credit card statement, the charge was still there! I have spent a week disputing the charge with their billing department, and the charge is still not removed, so now I have to spend even more time and effort disputing the charge with the credit card company. "Beautiful view of the ocean"
Hotel is very beautiful. The rooms have a great view of the bay. Many things are walking distance from the hotel. Great restaurant in the hotel too. Food was excellent. Service was impeccable. Rooms are beautiful. Only thing I would say is if you have an issue walking request a room by the elevators. Our room was very far from the elevator.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Slipping on Details"
I was put in to a very loud (street and hotel noise) room with no working air conidtioning in the peak of summer (July). It was a brutally uncomfortable stay. I asked to change rooms and was told they had no more rooms. The paid for my dinner as a courtesy. I give them credit for trying to make it right, just confused why they would put me in a room […] with these issues in the first place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Hyatt San Francisco was great. Extremely polite and helpful service, an outstanding location and very nice rooms. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"position and comfort - could offer more services"
No doubt: this is an outstanding structure offering a central position, great view and superior comfort in SF. Only negative note is concerned with the services. The WI-FI, PCs, and breakfast are all at extra cost. I understand this being an extra income for Hyatt, however I expected to receive something more for the rate paid. Asking for an extra 5$ […] for using a PC on a 300-600$/nightly rate is pretty much a lapse of style... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall very nice experience"
Upon check in we were surprised to find out that the room with 2 queen beds we reserved wasn't available on the assigned floor. A room on a much lower floor was offered with the correct number of beds and I agreed to view the assigned room first. After we saw that the room with a king size bed and a fold up for our teenager was the size of a closet, […] I then inquired about the other room offered. We were told that the alternate room was only a few inches bigger with the 2 queen size of beds so we opted to stay in the closet with a great view. Overall the room was very clean and the king size bed was comfortable. The television in the bathroom mirror didn't work and the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling slightly. ON the plus side the cleaning staff was very friendly, everyone said hello and good morning/afternoon. The Regency Club access was a wonderful relaxing environment and the food provided was delicious. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Solid business hotel"
Nothing fancy, but it's clean. The cement makes it feel a bit old, but the condition is good and the room was fine. The access to the regency club is always nice. If you aren't too picky and don't want a super large meal, it suffices for breakfast and dinner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Family visit to SF"
We were booked for a double bed room on the Concierge Level (16 & 17th floors) but when we arrived they had us in a King room which did not work since we had our to kids with us. They moved us to a "city view" room on the 9th floor and gave us privileges to 17th floor concierge food and services. It was great to have free breakfast and the view from […] the top was fantastic. "Get the Balcony"
We made sure we had a bay view with the balcony. It is gorgeous, Coit Tower, Ferry Building, the boats on the bay. We went to the Ferry building which is steps away and got some munchies and enjoyed the sun and view. The staff was top notch and the stay was perfect. Just steps away is Tadich Grill, it is expensive. but the meal we had was fantastic. […] Old San Francisco , as it was started in 1849. All in all a wonderful stay. "Walkable on the Embarcadaro to dine & shop"
The #4 ratings were due to the construction areas at the street level, which were not hotel issues.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean and fancy hotel that wants to grab every dime they can from you. The room was small. We paid extra for a view of the Bay. Unfortunately, a large wall obstructed a clear view. Food at the hotel is exorbitant. Wouldn't go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fun for the most part"
I've visited the Hyatt SF restaurant and bar for years, since it's a convenient meeting place near my work. But I've never stayed there before. It's a sprawling giant, a huge beehive run very well for the most part. But because I booked through Expedia, they gave me a room next to a massive air duct. Add to that constant throb the whirring of my room's […] AC, and I could not sleep. I got earplugs, but then missed my wakeup call, only to be awakened by a strange man standing the the foot of my bed (I'm female, traveling alone), shaking my foot. Luckily I didn't scream, and was sleeping in pajamas! Another evening my door flew open, I startled up from my dinner, and another male employee shouted "Just bringing you water!", threw a small bottle of water on the hall table, and ran off. Was that to make up for the first time? I never found out. I started to think I was in a sit-com. So this particular stay was bizarre. And when I finally insisted on talking to the head of security about the wakeup incident (I had to fight for that), he was great, and said they'd address the problem (send a woman to a woman's room, for heaven's sake!) The hotel is sparkling clean, the newly-managed Eclipse restaurant is good, the bar is fun, the location perfect for SF. Just, be careful where they locate you, ask for a change if you don't like it, and girls, double-lock your doors! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great if you love huge hotels with $64 valet"
Hotel is huge, on the lakefront, and a hassle to get in and out during peak times. They charge $64 a night for valet, outrageous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"best baseball stay"
took amtrak to SF. The thruway bus dropped us off at the ferry building, right across the street from Hyatt. We checked in and then walked to Coit tower. Next morning, we had breakfast in the magnificent lobby and then walked to the Giants game. What a wonderful way to get out of the car and relax.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"trip of a lifetime"
My family stayed in a 9th floor suite and an adjoining room. The rooms looked out on the bay bridge and the PG&E building. Weather was beautiful. We watched the light show on the bridge that evening and the super moon. They walked down to the Giants game the next day. We traveled to and from SF on Amtrak. We didn't have to mess with trying to park. […] Great trip! Try it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel but on a noisy street"
The hotel is fancy both from the outside and the inside. It is located conveniently near Pier 1 and the F train that takes you to Pier 39 (if you walk it is about 20-25 minutes walk to Pier 39). Everything went well with our stay, but I want to mention that if you get a room on the Market St. side, you will have street noises all day and night, and […] we were on the 7th floor! Also, the hotel has a huge inside space, which is very fancy, but is prone to echo. One night there was a wedding there (or at least some preparation for a wedding) and people were shouting, and you could hear it in every room. But other than those noise issues, a good hotel. "not so pleased"
it only looked good in the picture. it was a blah when i went in. nothing spectacular. the worst part about it was the construction. so loud and noisy. jackhammer was my alarm! with my luck, our room was right next to the construction site- that was our view. i guess that was supposed to be the city view. with my luck, which up to now i still don't […] understand how they decide on assigning rooms, we were placed on a lower floor. bathroom was tiny. expensive parking fee but i guess that's how it is in SF anyway. i should've just stayed somewhere else- of course, that was after the fact. "Nice hotel with friendly staff"
The concierge helped coordinate massage therapists to come to the hotel for my husband and I. The location was convenient to where we needed to be the next day but the area does seem to close down early so late night eats were limited. The restaurant that they recommended was delicious, though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay"
The room was nice and clean. The bed was hard as a rock. It was very uncomfortable. Besides that it was a good location and most of the staff were friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only negative would be that the beds are double's and not queens in the standard rooms- still a comfortable bed though. Other than that everything was wonderful, extremely clean, helpful staff, and we got a very reasonable rate through hotels.com. It was a perfect home base for doing the tourist stuff. Loved being so close to the Ferry Building […] and Embarcedero. Its was super convenient to jump on MUNI, Cable Car, and BART. We were very glad we stayed here and not in Fisherman's Warf or Union Square where it was mobbed with tourists. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovely View if you Can REALLY SEE it"
My second time, and it makes me appreciate my first room Even More! This room was an upgrade, they said (to one with a balcony), but it did not do the view justice. However, it WAS better than no Bay view at all (which is what I requested). A sniggly complaint: no food available past 11 pm when we arrived. Bar was open, but no bar food either. So we […] phoned for Italian food (pamphlet the hotel provided) and it was mediocre at best: the lasagna thin, and they gave us the wrong salad dressings, altho' we specified two others. (No-fat "Italian" anyone?) The next day, late morning, we had a good Scrambled Egg/Bacon on Grilled Sourdough sandwich in the Eclipse Lounge/Restaurant, as I was able to then use the wi-fi for free. I did have complaints about our Bathroom, which the woman on check out was so-so on taking my comments: water easily comes out of both sides of shower, needing us to use two of the precious bath towels to mop up, no extra toilet paper at all, nothing in the shower to hold on to (oh, then "you need to ask for a wheelchair accessible room" -- ah, NO, it needs to be more universally safe in the tub-shower combo). And the long-standing -- no towels rods, and they expect us to re-use towels that won't get dry? Generally a very nice hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"tried to plan ahead"
Hi, We chose the hotel due to its location and spectacular views if you are on the right side of the hotel. We had a super noisy room the first night, handicap, and then requested we move. The new room caused us to need to pack our stuff, and move. I had requested all the details in the reservation for what we hoped we could get in regards to our room […] but it was obvious that the notes were ignored. The little details but reasonable requests are something I feel is very reasonable to ask considering how much it costs to stay in the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
