beautiful hotel, good location. The rooms are all nicely remodeled. I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in 3 months and have problems all 3 times. The staff did resolve the problems and apologized in a timely manner. I will stay here again and I do recommend this hotel. I was in the hotel business for 15 years (not Hyatt), and I understand things can go wrong, I just must have some bad luck.

Great place to bring kids. Only complaint was that our room could have used a lot more in the way of lighting - in the room there was only bedside table lighting and one desk lamp, which is probably fine during the day but not so great at night. Other than that, great swimming area for kids and very close to Sea World.

The Hyatt was very picturesque, with a choice of rooms in the main high rise hotel or the adjoining, low rise suites. Great food and room service, very attentive staff. My only complaint was the $20/day self park or $25/day valet park that I was not informed about on the hotel listing.

This is a great resort. The food at the restaurant was fantastic, though the selection was somewhat limited. For swimmers there are three pools, one with a two big water slides and a smaller one kids. Our room was great with a wonderful view of Mission Bay. Staff was very helpful.

Room had a stale odor smell when first entering. Room's view was of the bay was blocked by a temporary tent. Rooms near by has a group of people partying into the early morning hours.

Rooms were bigger than expected and it was very clean, spacious and comforting. Looked and smelled like brand new. Kids had fun at the 3 heated pools and staff was very courteous and professional.

when i checked in i looked at the garden, i was surprised that they had a beautiful garden and pool area.

I stayed at this hotel once before and had a wonderful experience. But this stay was a complete 180. The staff was less than helpful, we were put on the first floor in the front of the hotel where everyone comes to valet or pick up a cab and since there were 3 wedding parties staying at the hotel, you can imagine the noise. The first thing we saw when we walked into the room was a huge stain on the couch, which also set the tone I think. After we checked in, I requested a bottle opener from the concierge and since they didn't have one they sent me on a wild goosechase around the hotel to find one. All in all, totally overpriced for the accommodations and the service. On top of the price tag there is a $20 self park charge which is also crazy. Avoid if possible

The hotel staff were VERY friendly and accommodating. We had a late arrival and they were quick to get us up to our room. When we asked about places to eat, they suggested some really great spots - right on the money for a family with young kids! The only thing that bothered us was the dresser drawer in the hotel would NOT stay closed, kept sliding open. We rigged it with the pad of paper wedged along side - -ha! No biggy.. . if we weren't going to use the dresser - we would have never known (it only happened with clothes in the drawer). Over all - - OUTSTANDING!!! We will be coming back to stay!

It was a nice location with a great staff. We were out most of the time so didn't get to go to the Red Marlin Rest. but had a late night snack at the pool bar SWIM, awesome latte & cheesecake! The fitness center is small but well equipped and is a great place to watch the sunset out on the deck overlooking the marina. I must agree with all the guest reviews that I read before booking about the twenty dollar per day parking charge to be a spoiler over all the good things that they do for you. Aloha, Mike

This was a great get away hotel for lounging and had most of the comforts of home (I wasn't in town for Sea World or Fishing). I had an amazing view and the room was beautiful. I would have spent time in the spa if it seemed like there would have been more to offer then an over-priced "Eco-friendly" massage. I would have paid the money if I could have had water therapy to relax in or other things that made the "eco-friendly" massage or facial worth the expense. (Or they just need better advertisement or a friendlier staff inside seeming interested in what I wanted.) There were kids there but it was appropriately separated as there were adult restaurants like Red Marina on site. The food was outstanding but the service could step up a bit for the prices I paid. If your local this seems to be a great getaway hotel. If I go back to visit San Diego and would like a relaxing get away I would come back. It was a GORGEOUS property that was well maintained and the hotel staff was amazing.

My Boyfriend and I were looking for a hotel near Seaworld and the Hyatt was right there! We used self check-in which was very convenient, got to our room and realized the suite was not what we were looking for (Too big and the balcony was overlooking the gift shop)! We called the front desk and asked if we could change rooms and they did with out questions! We got a great room in the towers on the 7th floor w/ a great view....and loved it! There was no charge for parking unless you used valet! AND though there was no nightlife around the hotel the concierge/front desk suggested restaurants surrounding the area and printed a map to help us find our destination! We loved our stay!!!!!

They do not tell you on the web site, that the only parking available is either self park for $20 per night or $25 for valet parking a night. Also, if you have kids, plan a lot of extra money for TV, because there is only one Disney channel available and all the others are charged extra starting at $2.99. Also, they do not tell you on the web site, that thy will charge your credit card right away with a security deposit of $75 per day! The only restaurants in walking distance charge horrendous amounts of money for very poor food. Bring extra cash. A LOT!

My family (2 kids - 5 and 8 yr old) stayed at the Hyatt for three nights and had a great time. We stayed in the older part of the hotel (not tower) and were a bit apprehensive when we walked up to the room. It was an older room (evident by the popcord ceiling) but a GREAT room. It was very clean. The bathroom was big. The beds were comfortable. The window was odd - higher up on the wall, long and short. Great style. No complaints. The music outside (they play it throughout the hotel grounds) was a little loud the first night, but a quick call to the front desk took care of it. The staff was so great. Two of the three pools were closed the first night (8 pm) we were there due to a private party on the patio. My kids still got to swim in the warm pool - having a great time - and to make up the difference the front desk offered us s'more kits. The family loved making s'mores by the fire pit before our swim. The last night we decided to eat at the restaurant at the hotel. We usually avoid this due to sometimes over-priced food. But we were pleasantly surprised with a WONDERFUL meal, great ambiance, great service. We really liked this hotel - even though it was more of a place to sleep and just spend the evenings.

Best thing: Hotel location and pool for the kids. Needs improvement: hotel room size and also the room was not the best at accomodating a family" (ex. small cooler in the room- NOT considered a refrigerator and also there was no microwave, which was inconvenient).

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Location was convenient with multiple restaurants and within walking distance to Sea World. Room was clean and comfortable, though a bit aged/renovated but location next to parking lot was loud and hallway was loud due to a wedding event. Doors slamming and people talking were as loud as if our door was open. Air conditioner coming off and on was very loud and we found that leaving it on all night eliminated all the other noises. Shower leaked to the point of flooding the floor unless curtain was tightly sealed. Hotel could also offer free in room wifi.

The hotel is a well maintained typical Hyatt with small rooms. It's not really a family place even with the water slides and many pools. The music is loud, the mini fridge is tiny, and even the garbage cans are super small. Beautiful location and views, but this hotel is more for couples than families of 4 or more. The staff is nice. Also, your kid must be taller than 42 inches to use the water slides (no exceptions). They also charge you for everything (internet, movies, parking, water)

I arrived to a clean, beautiful hotel, the staff was... nice. Perhaps if it were not 11pm, they would have been more welcoming instead of mechanical... The rooms were great, I stayed in the main hotel building. Had Breakfast at the Red Marlin... waited 40 minutes for water and service. After that however the stay was very nice. I'd stay where again, check in in the daytime hours and perhaps request inside seating so i get noticed quicker. Oh and... the cabanas in the court area are fantastic to lounge and read in!! Oh... for whatever reason, the beds were not as comfy as I thought they would be... but maybe i'm sesative to the comfort of my amazing bed at home. ;o)

We had a suite, and it was not as nice as I thought it should have been. It was not very clean, and the bathroom needs updating.

Great Hotel stay! Very clean room that overlooked the bay, pool and hot tub were nice, half-mile walk to the beach and amusement park, and very friendly staff. Also close to SeaWorld. It was a little on the expensive side, but a very nice stay.

We loved our stay at the Hyatt. We would definately choose this hotel again. Beautiful location. Would love to bring grandkids here to play on the water slides! We received a complimentary bottle of wine for our 35th anniversary! Wonderful staff too!

Friendly helpful staff. Great location, decor, and atmosphere. $20 self parking, no parking spots so had to valet for $25 plus tip for each in/out. SURPRISE! Room had obviously been cleaned in a hurry, not thorough. Furniture stained, kinda' gross. Air conditioning controller not working, fortunately not too hot. I did enjoy the balcony slider open all night and listening to the sea lions in the harbor. I slept very comfortably. Would not repeat - I expected better from that brand at that price.

Very typical Hyatt experience.Great service,clean room,wonderfull view from our balcony,Beautifull grounds close to all attractions in San Diego.The "Water taxi" to Sea World was a simple pleasure.

This hotel was great! They had a convenient water taxi to Sea World for only $3/person, pools & grounds were beautiful, and we could see the city of San Diego and Sea World from our balcony. Also, I wasn;t able to get a parking spot either ngiht so they did not charge me for the parking which was awesome! I would recommend this hotel to any Seaworld traveler or San Diego traveler who does not want to stay right in the city!!!

Stay there for 2 nights. Location is great (overnight parking is $20 extra per night). The fire alarm went off at 3:00 am! what a nightmare for the kids. The room AC is not working properly (unit is too old). The refrigeartor (cooler) is broken!

I would stay here again and again. Such a wonderful staff from the moment you enter the lobby.

I would definitly return to this hotel! Everything was amazing!! The service stands out the most. Everybody here is so helpful and nice. Not nice in a fake, obligated type of way, but sincerely nice! The room was amazing as well. It was clean and bright and had all the amenities you'd need and want in a room. The location is perfect and there is a coffee/bagel shop right there. It is also right next to the docks and you can go down and rent a boat or a sea doo. The best part of this place is the pool and the people working at the pool! They are super cool people and the whol epool area makes you feel like you are wisked away to a resort in the carribean. I love everything about this hotel and i plan to come back for a weekend every summer. It just makes me feel so relaxed and summer like!

Hotel was nice. The room was a little over priced. It is an older hotel that has had a makeover. Slides at pool were great but they close the slides at 6:00 PM.(check in is at 4:00pm) So if your only staying one nite and have plans the next day, the kids have very limited time to enjoy slides. No microwave in room. Nice view of marina. I would stay there again.

This hotel is extremely well maintained and has very friendly staff. The service was excellent and the location could not be beat. Within easy walking distance is boat, kayak and sailboat rentals, parasailing, and other sportfishing. The pool and water slides are great for kids and families. The food and service at the Red Marlin restaurant was excellent. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of Mission Bay where the action is.

Very outstanding hotel location,employees, ammenities,etc.

Loved hotel and beautiful view, great for adults and/or kids, children loved all three pools. Would like to have seen a restaurant or coffee shop that kids could eat at. Room was clean and confortable, except night stands had coffee stain from previous guest, other than that I would highly recommend to anyone and I will stay their again.

I expected more for the rate we paid. The room was small and I found the decor to be kind of cold and uncomfortable. The pool area is nice, but not enough seating (if not there first thing in the morning, can't get a lounge chair). Also, not enough towels available by the pool!!! In general, the people working at this hotel were pleasant. I wouldn't go back.

I would say that I would stay at the Hyatt again. However, it would have to be at a lower price. There was no WOW factor but was please with the overall stay. Pool area was nice, great for kids of all ages. We stayed in the suites on the marina side. The pullout beds could be updated. Noise from the street traffic and marina is a little much. As others have posted the daily parking fee is a little pricey.

stunning place a gorgeous marina full of million dollar boats not a lot there though.a few restaurants,shops n places to hire jetskis,do sportsfishing and the like.the beach is a 15 mnute walk.to go downtown its a 16dollar taxi fare to station then a 25min trolley ride.san diego is a huge city.a good family hotel but its expensive the rooms are basic and the toilets are disgrace and need updated

Took my teenage daughter and her friend to visit universities. Hotel was great, clean, easy to get to/from and close to airport. Beautiful hotel--would recommend and stay again. My daughter and her friend loved the pool and hotel.

Hotel was OK but is a little out of the way. Mission beach was a mile or two down the road so if you want a beer outside the hotel restaurant or pool bar in the evening expect a walk or cab ride. Probably a good place if you gave kids as the pool has a slide and it was packed with families (also has a ferry shuttle to Sea World). All in all a pretty average hotel

Very pleased with this hotel. One evening the jacuzzi was out of order but other than that things went well. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Who says that you must choose between a high class hotel and a fun hotel for kids? My 3 kids really loved staying at this hotel. The 3 water slides (with one of them adequate for even 2 years old w/ floating device) kept them happy. The service is outstanding except for repeatedly not bringing us enough towels despite the fact that we were 5 people in the room. The breakfast was very good comparing to other American hotels, but no vegetables of any kind. Valle parking was outstanding in its speed. The location is a little remote from San Diego main attractions so you have to take a car for everything outside of the hotel, but I Would still stay at that hotel again for the right price.

We were very hapy with the joice and would definitely stay there again. The only problem was that our stay was prepaid and they charged us again, but the amount differs from what you charged us, so I will get back to you regarding that after I have my bill adjusted on Monday

This hotel is beautiful. However, most of the staff seemed to display a "we know you're stuck here, if you don't like it, go somewhere else" kind of attitude. I asked for a late checkout upon check-in and was told that it would "inconvenience the housekeeping staff." Later that night I came down to the lobby looking for a vending machine, and was told that the hotel did not have any. I then went to go up to my room on the 17th floor, and waited for the elevator for about 5 minutes before I figured something might be wrong. I picked up a house phone and an exasperated operator said, "yes, they're broken. I just got here, I don't know what's going on. Call me back." No one could tell me when the elevators would be fixed, but a manager was kind enough to send someone from maintenance with me up the 17 flights of stairs to my room to open the locked stairwell door. While I was treated to several expressions of "sorry for the inconvenience," I feel like the staff at this hotel did the absolute bare minimum they could for me during my brief stay. That was very disappointing.

My stay was very comfortable and the staff, including housekeeping and grounds maintenance, were friendly and courteous. If I had not been in meetings all day long, I would have enjoyed the opportunity to lounge by the high quality resort style water complex of multiple pools, waterslide, and tropical foliage.
