Upon arrival I noticed that the hotel is undergoing a major renovation and that worried me a bit - but there was no reason. I was given a room on a... higher floor and was not bothered by any kind of noise. Despite extensive lobby reconstruction, there was no noise or dust evident. Staff was excellent, professional and very accommodative. We had the suite on the 4th floor and it was enormous. I was overall pleased with the Hilton Downtown Tampa. I have stayed here before and love the location and how clean the hotel is. Only disappointment was no free wifi and according to my bank statement, I was charged for the in room coffee.

Overall stay was adequate however, I would expect to receive the same amenities that I have had at hotels @ half this nightly rate. No microwave, no refrigerator, no water glasses in the bathroom and an extra $16 + tax for parking. Worked out wonderfully for our 1 night stay but would not stay there again.

We visited Tampa for an event at The Forum. There is a partnership that refers you to the Hilton. If you want a beautiful facility with substandard rooms --- this is your place. No refrigerator, nice bedding, or ample towels. I was asked upon checking out since there was no "fast check out" button on my room phone if anything could have made my stay […] better and I simply got an apologize. I thought it was overall a good place to stay but for the price, they should have a small fridge and microwave in the room. Have stayed in cheaper places which have had both. Don't like being nickle and dimed to death. Parking, fees, tips, etc. But the worst! Why is the dining area not open after 11 pm? They should know, this is a hotel, people are […] here for the events and coming back, the events ALL end at 10:30 or 11:00 o'clock. Keep the kitchen open until midnight on the weekend! Eighth floor smelled like people were dedicating in the hallway. Staff was exceptionally kind, but I assume that was because of the gasparilla parade, area was ok but there were too many homeless in doorways at 8 pm and beggers from prison with there prison pants still on in the area. Somewhat unnerving area with lack of police which should have been […] patrolling on foot at every corner,; disappointed with lack of security in the area.hotel rooms were overpriced for the area and horrible ghastly smells in hallways of dedication. Even with the discount, it wasn't worth the amount but what hotel in Tampa is? Pay $200 a night for a toilet and a bed, nothing complimentary, rather stayed at a motel where I can get a breakfast & fridge& microwave& bigger room for a fraction of the cost. Those areas even have less bums and more security.the worst part is the elevators, the stupid idea of elevators not running to a level without a room key. 8-10 people trying to go to different levels after 11 pm - 6 am is a huge inconvenience . Needs 24 hour room service and a better restaurant,$200 for a room and a restaurant I would be ashamed to bring business clients to but I guess for Florida clients they would understand there is overpricing but nothing worth paying for here. The parking rates are ridiculous, $18.00 per night, $14.00 if you park it yourself and walk a half of a block back. I have never had to pay for parking at a Hotel that I was staying in. All the other services were great.

The hotel was nice. Except check in is not till 3 and we arrived at noon and there valet parking was already full, was told by the staff it was full by 9 am. HOW? I did read about the hotel before going and they say they have vallet and you are to pay for your own parking. And that is fine! But the parking is in a public parking garge 1 block over and […] 1 block down (thats 2 blocks away). I have a really bad back and it took over an hour for me to get to the hotel, And when I got there I asked if I should have called ahead and told them I have health issues. They said "no it wouldn"t help due to the vallet was full as of 9 am". There site says 14 per day parking thats not true! It cost me alot more! Never stay her again! Read more

The hotel charges for internet most all hotels do not charge for that now. The food was good however, expensive for breakfast, etc.

The hotel was overall satisfactory. The room was very clean, Front desk personnel were very courteous. Trying to call the front desk from your room was quite a challenge, phone rings over 20 times before anyone answers, so make sure you ask all your questions at checkin. One issue which was very important to us was transportation. Hotel uses a company […] called Blue One Transportation. The representative at the check-in desk was a joke. He made us all types of promises to take us everywhere with no issues, BUT His company's performance was horrible. We asked if it would be a problem picking us up at 1 AM on New Year's Eve from Channelside, Joe responded, "not at all". There were 8 people in our party. Low and behold, I called for a ride at 1am and was told they would be there in 10 minutes, 1 hour later after 2 phone calls to them, they finally told the truth and said that they were running about 1 hour behind. We ended up walking back to the hotel (over 2 miles away). Read more
