"Minor improvements could make this much better"
Conveniently located close to both tube and bus transit. Basically good value for the money. However, the A/C was extremely NOISY and couldn't be fixed. The wait for a table at breakfast was extremely long and due to inefficient organization. Thanks for free wifi service. If some minor improvements were made, it could be highly recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
"excellent location for getting around"
hotel was located in a great spot for easy access to public transport(buses & underground). also it being near a finacial center there was plenty of quick bites available. Didn't always get out at same time in morning, but if we hung the housekeeping sign out, the room would be clean by time we got back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room states "Soundproofed rooms " it was not, next to elevator and could hear guests in hall and also lots of outside noise made it into the room. "Daily housekeeping" yes but, twice the room was not made up and I had to call, they were right there, but should not need to call. "An Excellent Place in London"
All in all, the Meilia White House is solid, reliable pick for a hotel in London. It's stylish without being pretentious. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The housekeepers were responsive to requests. I would recommend booking this hotel on a major booking site (one you trust) as the rates are probably better and, after watching someone walk up and […] try to get a room, it seemed the staff do better with pre-bookings. We had a few quibbles. We dislike duvets (vs. sheets/blankets) and found the single beds a tad on the small side; making us wish we'd taken the superior king instead. The hotel is very close to a Tube station and buses, but if you're heading for the downtown the tourist spots, there's no straight shot. Breakfast is extra - so don't expect a full English thrown in free. Yes, I would definitely use this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent London Hotel"
I was honestly quite worried about the size of the rooms based on the reviews from others, but it turns out, the room (and the bathroom) were both sufficiently sized for two adults. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the doorman and our luggage was taken to our room for us. I loved the location. The […] hotel had a few restaurants of its own and a lovely bar with a pianist, but there was also a great local tapas restaurant within a couple minutes' walk. The Great Portland Street tube station was across the street as well which made for great access to the London sites. Will definitely stay here again, and the value for money was phenomenal! "Great location for the tube"
We had a great stay at the Meila White House. The staff was very pleasant and the room always clean. The bathroom is a bit small but we expected it to be small since it was in London and others commented on the small size. While it was small it wasn't unmanageable. The location of the hotel was perfect for using the tube, which is very easy to navigate. […] There was a great pub nearby and many restaurants. Overall, a great experience. "Elegant but small rooms, Nice and clean."
Was very nice, people were very helpful and accomodating. Was clean, lighting was weak, and rooms were small, especially bathroom, not enough storage. Beautiful outside and lobby was beautiful, all marble, elevators were awsome. No ice machines. Guess we Americans are used to larger space, and larger rooms. Coffee and tea were good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fine Hotel But Eat Breakfast Somewhere Else"
This is one of my favorite hotels. It is a little too pricey, especially the breakfast. At twenty three pounds per person it would cost me almost $100 a day for myself and my wife to eat breakfast. This is the only complaint that I have concerning the White House. Staff is helpful and the hotel is meaningful to me. It is the hotel I stayed in the first […] time I visited London. "A wonderful mid- priced hotel"
Very good experience overall. Did not have face/bath cloths in the bathroom. Staff very accommodating . Breakfast was delicious and enjoyable. Overall, a great stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
Our stay was fantastic! Hotel is a very short walk from many underground stations, so you can anywhere very quickly, great location, felt very safe walking around, and the staff was amazing. The room was great and hotel restaurants very good. Highly recommended!Genuine Expedia guest review
"melia white house hotel"
The best of this hotel is the staff, nice and helpful. the hotel hallways and rooms smell a little to mold, there are no drawers for clothing. Good location.Genuine Expedia guest review
Maid service was ok she forgot something every day, like coffee cups, washcloths, etc. Also she removed 2 dishes that I left in the bathroom that were gifts I was given in one of the pubs we had gone too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. Staff was rude! Very unfriendly and not helpful what so ever. Way over priced. The beds were hard. I about broke my neck getting out of the shower, the step out is huge. I am fit and I can't imagine how hard it would be for an elderly person. The walls are paper thin. The door would not lock. "Great hotel for business traveler"
would use again. very good neighborhood. central to most of london. I think this hotel is a gem.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is right across the street from the Great Portland Street tube station, very good location for using the tube system. Wireless internet didn't work very well in our room but I do know they were working on it so hopefully that gets fixed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value in London"
We were very satisfied with the Melia which was well situated, close to the tube and the theatre district. The room was comfortable with a small bathroom and all the amenities. Concierge service was good and we used the business office for e-mail. Great breakfast offered. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Everything a little off"
Everything about this hotel is a little off. To start, it took me 5 requests at the front desk to get a roll-away bed in the room. We've got two kids. The desk staff insisted that the pull-out couch was plenty big for 2 kids and seemed to ignore my insistence that the kids sleep in different beds. The Internet service at the hotel is dreadful. I have […] a mobile broadband device that was more than 100 times faster than the hotel Internet. Further, the hotel Internet is limited to 2 computers and each time the computer dropped the wifi connection, I had to go through the login procedure again... difficult in the dark when the kids were sleeping. Plus the Internet connect went down every 30 minutes. The cleaning staff disabled the power in the room each afternoon. This meant that our computers and iPads that were charging stopped charging... we always had to struggle to keep our devices charged. The elevators were whacky (no floor selection buttons in the elevators) and the "call elevator" boxes failed once every 4 uses. The car service that the hotel arranged to get us to Heathrow took us to the wrong terminal and then wouldn't drop us at our airline's door (getting kids and luggage as close to the checkin desk as possible is key.) All in all, I wouldn't stay at the Melia again. I'd stay at the Citadines... it's less expensive and the staff is more polite. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The good news: The lobby is pleasant and welcoming and the room and bathroom were clean. The bad news: the room was small and cramped, just 18 inches between end of bed and wall, with no chair. Hallway to room was very stuffy and often smelt of food. The maid service was erratic e.g. dirty cups and glasses were not replaced. Worst of all, the bathtub […] did not drain so showers were taken in ankle deep water (with little improvement after registering a complaint), and bath gurgled when neighbor took a shower. In short, they have a big-time plumbing problem. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

nice hotel with free wifi in bar/lobby; must pay for service in the room; breakfast was ok but not as good as the breakfast in Melia Barcelona.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great food great staff great location bad TV"
I enjoyed this hotel. The staff is wonderful and they really do a great job of cleanliness. I was disappointed that the ad had pay-per-view movie channels but that instead they only had about 30 crappy TV channels. Also the room was a bit old though it's an older hotel so it can be expected. Great food, great staff, great location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"small rooms but pleasant big hotel"
This hotel is a busy large hotel near Regency Park. The room we had was small but reasonably pleasant. It was quiet. The breakfast was not peaceful and too expensive. The free wifi did not work initially, but then they fixed it. They gave us a free hour on the other wifi service in compensation. The staff was genearally helpful and friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was OK, bed matress was in bad condition, rooms are small but clean. Staff was helpfull.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is a good but not great London hotel. Nice staff and good room. Close to underground. A few things kept it from being 5 stars. More of a business neighborhood. Not Mayfair as I ahead thought it would be. Only 1 hour of relatively slow wi-fi and when we bought continental breakfast we were given seats at a bar or a few high tables not in restaurant. […] This was not a good experience and there were no restaurants nearby to get continental breakfast. Later in stay,we stayed in a Kensington hotel which was 5 star. "Beautiful hotel, some recommended changes"
This hotel is stunning from the lobby, restaurants, bar to the rooms. The area is very nice and Regent's Park is a few minutes away by foot. I thought it was unfortunate that the wifi internet access fee was so high. There were also some organizational problems with the front desk regarding our reservations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't overlook Melia White House in London"
The Melia White House is a great London location. Close to the tube, great for a run in Regent Park. A "Virgin Gym" just steps away. The Hotels comfortable amenities make you feel at home.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful accommodations, when you can check in!"
My only disappointment was that I was supposed to be able to check in around 1 pm, and when I went to check in after arriving from the States (feeling gross and wanting to shower/change), I was told the room wasn't ready and that they were going to notify the housekeeping staff to put it on priority. When I asked when I could check in, the staff member […] said 3:00. I then heard another staff member saying the exact same line to a couple who was also trying to check in. I think they should get it together! Other than that, the room was lovely, and the lobby area was also beautiful. I really liked the bathroom decor. Very nice place, but it was a little hard for me to find at first. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Melia White House in London"
The Melia White House Hotel in London was absolutely oustanding. Everyone in the hotel was willing to help. Extremely good service. The meals were great as well. The location was central and from it it was easy to go all over. I will definitely go back to that hotel. Melia is a great chain of hotels from Spain and this hotel is no exception.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great experience all around, we would return. The only minor inconvenience was no wireless in the room, but they were installing cables while we were there for that to be offered.Genuine Expedia guest review
"First Hotel stay in London"
My wife and I (US couple) visited London from Tuesday through Saturday, Nov 8-12, 2011. The Melia is located in the Regent's Park neighborhood and had Excellent access to the underground with the Great Portland station just a 1/2 block away (2 minutes). There were 2 other stops within 5-8 minutes in opposite directions. Also, one of the "Original Tour" […] sightseeing bus lines stopped 200 feet from the front of the hotel! The room was a 'superior' double with a king bed and was clean, comfortable & comparable to any "Better" US hotel room. Per Hotel.com it was supposed to have a microwave and small refrigerator, but it only had a minibar fridge without room for additional food. As usual with European hotels, bring your own washcloths! Good service, excellent location. The only inconvenient is the poor internet service. Charge 8 pounds for a 2 hours connection is a shame!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is pretty standard for the 3-4 star range of establishments in London. If you're used to American standards, don't expect a large room if you book a Classic with a double bed. Nevertheless, the place was clean and service was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable, full service, great location"
Service was first class - received an early check in, espceially valued after on overnight flight and the ordeal of Heathrow. First level room was totally soundproof. Room was very clean, fully equipped but small even by European standards. Bar was chic but relaxing. Regent Park and Warren Street tubes were only a few blocks away. Portland Street tube […] stop is closed. Green Man and Pret a Manger one block over great places for casual dining. Always a cab waiting outside if you need one. Quite reasonable for a first class, four star London hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The smallest bathroom in the world"
Overall this is a nice hotel. The ambience is good throughout the hotel with warm colours, and in particular in the lounge/bar area for that late night drink/coffee. Service was let down badly one evening with very poor bar service, but other than that one event, the hotel staff are excellent and helpful. The bathroom we had is not only the smallest […] in the world, but also an accident waiting to happen. The gap from the bath to the main bathroom floor is tiny. One foot on soapy bath and one on bathroom floor, created a hazard for me. Older folks might be unable to use the bath/shower as a result. The tube station (Great Portland Street) is very close. There is very little of interest in the close vicinity. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Melia White House Hotel in London"
This is a lovely hotel located in a quiet neighborhood & convenient to bus lines & tour buses. "Melia White House Hotel - I'll tell my friends"
This Hotel was great. Price was right and close to everything; bus stops, tube station, always a taxi standing by. Only negative - Breakfast much over priced and rooms was too small. But I guess I could have paid for a larger room. Great helpful staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"NOT in Mayfair and NO WIFI"
First of all, if you advertise that you are in Mayfair, you should actually be in Mayfair. Not the case. It's at least a 20 minute walk. For the price, I would stay somewhere else. Also, they charge you 8.50 Euro per hour for WIFI. Excuse me??? That is PER HOUR. If you think it will not matter, check again. Even if you need to make travel arrangements, […] boarding passes, etc., it gets crazy. Business center always packed with frustrated travelers jockeying over only two old pc computers. It was a mess. And, even a local call, will cost you almost 3 USD per minute. The hotel itself is fine. Concierge not at all helpful. Best that I can say is that it was clean and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, would not recommend or stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
