We had a wonderful time at this resort and only wish we had allowed more time at it. The grounds were beautiful and well-maintained. The pool area lobby etc were all great. We enjoyed our connecting rooms but did not like the location because we could not drive near it and had to haul luggage down an uneven path and even lost a wheel to one of my bags. […] Next time we will request rooms that can be reached by car, but we will be back one year for sure. When we brought up some concerns to the front desk (dirty hot tub, no available towels, broken sauna) they were not accommodating and defensive. They say people break things and towels cannot be left out....too much theft. Kids could not use items at facility, everything locked up as of 6:00 p.m....Definitely not recommended!!!

I was very disappointed in the resort. For the money, the room was no better than an average hotel. Our bathroom door was broken and wouldn't shut, there was a hole in the bath floor, the patio furniture was weathered and had no cushions. The kids pool was suppose to be open by 8:00am but didn't open until 10:30, leaving my grandchildren only a few […] minutes to swim before check out time. We were confused about extra charges and assumed that if we drank the two bottles of water, we would be charged an extra fee. Ridiculous! Expensive and not worth the money in my opinion. Read more

Dim lighting in only area available for computer use, otherwise average quality for a non-fleabag hotel. Rip-off daily rate add-on ($20) for facilities not used and WiFi not used. Front desk was misleading about the add-on charges (whether to be billed or not).The ratings questions exclude the most relevant comparisons.

Updated resort. Needs a better attetion to details. Lamp shade water stained. Red stains on the wall. Have to be blind not to see it. Breakfast plates outside the rooms well into the eveing hours.

We loved staying at the Hilton El Conquistador. The location was lovely and the friendliness of the staff was wonderful. We have stayed there in the past and during this visit noticed improvements all over the hotel - especially how immaculate the grounds were kept. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

we chose the hotel for the location - close to where our friends live. It really is in need of updating. The rooms are dark and not very attractive. The bathroom had poorly constructed fittings. The staff were friendly and the grounds are lovely but we won't stay there again.

This place was very nice and we enjoyed it very much. Our only complaint would be the room size, which was quite small. We had also asked to have our lost luggage sent up to our room while we were away, but had to call when we returned to get someone to bring it there. The location was great, staff way courteous but sleeping in the hotel was horrible.When my sister-in-law, myself and my daughter arrived, it was pretty cool in the unit. We thought like many l places we have stayed at, they had the air conditioner on. So we switched it to heat and for a brief period it did heat up the room. After that period it cooled […] off significantly. After a few hours, we called the front desk and they sent a representative down. He noted the problem and asked if we would like blankets. My sister-in-law replied no since we did not know we would freeze the entire night. The next morning it was FRIGID in our unit. We called the front desk to see if anything could be done because it was too cold to take a shower (please note that evening it was in the upper 40's). Maintenance came down and found there was a bad solenoid and we would have to be moved (it was already 9am and check out was 11am). We decided to stay and they offered to bring by heaters. We were told that the heat was not turned on in the hotel but if that were the case, we would not be the only ones making the the complaint. I really do not think for the amount of money you pay to stay in such a fine establishment the management would not turn on the heat until November or December. ROOM SERVICE: Was very good but the food was not. My breakfast was burnt and not what I requested. I didn't even pursue calling because I just wanted to leave to finally get warm. Read more

My only complaint is that the walls are thin. I could hear doors slamming late in the night and early in the morning. I could also hear people in the room next door. They were very, very loud (part of it was them and part of it was the thin walls). It was awful. They woke me up out of a deep sleep. They were so loud. I knocked on the wall and yelled […] for them to keep the noise down. Then they started trying to unlock the door between our rooms (potential adjoining rooms). They were saying, "who is in there?" and kept trying to get into my room. I was terrified. It was 1am and I was a woman alone. I called the front desk who put me through to security. They were very responsive and came and asked the people to leave me alone. So, the problem was solved. That said, the rest of my stay was wonderful. The resort is beautiful with incredible scenery. The staff was very nice. I just wish the walls were thicker so that I could sleep better! If only there was a way to put guests in a quiet end of the hall (for those who go to bed early) and the other end with the partyers! Then everyone would be happy! Read more

Great location; golf, trails and country club all nearby, the inhouse gym was smaller than we expected but workable. Restaurant and bar were not world class but definitely a nice enough place to enjoy dinner. The house keeping service was a daily challenge. But overall it was a great vacation and we wouldn't mind going back to this place.

We booked at the last minute, purchasing blindfolded; we know Tucson well and felt secure getting a hotel in the northwest side of town. We were pleased it was El Conquistador - when we lived in Tucson, we came now and then for brunch, and have always found it to be gracious. Came back to the room two nights to find that there was no air-conditioning. They offered to let us move but at midnight that is the last thing you want to do. After moving your aunt all day. The room was not clean. There was socks under the bed coverings on the the floor.

The hotel is very beautiful, the pool was fabulous, nicest i've ever been in and the view was stunning. The room was a disappointment. We spent three nights in 3 different rooms due to problems. We were pleased that we were allowed to check-in early and the receptionist was very friendly but things went downhill from there. The room was missing some toiletries (shampoo) and calling the front desk resulted in a one-hour wait before we had to call back again to get it finally delivered. The man who eventually delivered the shampoo was unfriendly […] and acted like he could not understand what I was saying. He also forgot some items I had requested (toothbrush and toothpaste) which finally arrived on the third attempt. The pools were overcrowded for Labor day so there were no chaise lounges available but more importantly no towels, which we discovered to our dismay after we had already gotten soaking wet (we should have grabbed them ahead of time but we were eager to cool down in the Tucson summer heat). Parking was very limited at the resort and the valets basically stood around while we loitered in the front lobby (a stark contrast to every other resort we have been to where the valets bend over backwards to help you). The service is really quite poor for a resort of this supposed caliber and I cannot recommend it based on my experience. However, the beds were comfortable and the view is very beautiful, and the prices are fair - so if you don't require the level of service it can be a decent deal. Read more

I just really wish that the rooms were bigger, able to offer a reasonable priced suite, a refrig and microwave, and just all around bigger room with more options!! The stay was awesome. Adults and kids loved the pools and the water slide! The only problem we had was with our shower head in our room was going kind of crazy with not spraying water at times but other rooms had no problems.
