"Disappointing out-dated rooms"
When we walked into the beautiful lobby we were expecting great things, plus we had just stayed in a great hotel the night before that was modern. When we walked into our room, I felt like we had stepped back into the 70's. The room was dark, some updates had been down but the basic layout was outdated. The sink was in the bathroom, there was no bar […] sink, there was a mini bar with outdated, overpriced "snacks", there weren't enough outlets for phones, tablets, etc. The list goes on and on. It really is the little things that make up a hotel. On the plus side, the pool was beautiful but the "slide" was rough at the connecting points and only open until 5pm. The grounds were beautiful. And we had to pay at $20 resort fee for stuff that people obviously never used like the tennis or golf because the staff didn't seem to know how to get us these things and it was just an unnecessary add on. The bottomline is when I am paying $200 a night, I was a beautiful hotel suite and that is not what we got. I won't mention the dust on the ice bucket, the bug in the coffee cup, the towels 10 feet from the shower, etc. It's the little things that make a stay great and this did not have it. I would not go back even though the view was beautiful, there are plenty of other hotels that have that, too. Also, add a docking station for Iphone/Ipods. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Stayed the night for an event instead of driving"
The beds at resorts are always to hard, this one was no different. I thought the hotel was a little to stuffy and i didnt appreciate the resort charge when I still had to pay extra for wifi and the pool closed at ten, plus I had to have a wrist band to prove I was staying here. There also was not enough parking. The room was nice. At the Event , the […] hallway outside the ballroom, where the reception was, was really warm, and the ballroom itself was chilly, so fixing the air circulation issue would be great. There also were hardy any chairs in the reception area ( and standing 2 hours in heels really hurts). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The front desk, spa, restaurants and valet service were helpful and friendly. The grounds and golf course are scenic. Cleaning service needs to clean sinks, tubs and floors, not just make the beds and provide fresh towels. Emptying trash cans on the grounds would improve the cleanliness. There were pot holes and cracked pavement areas between casitas. […] Pool security needs lots of help!! Embarrassing guests is the worse offense. Security is appreciated. How you handle verifying a guest at the pool shouldn't be so difficult! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel but walls are paper thin"
Everything was great with the exception of how thin the walls are. A couple was staying next door and we could clearly hear their conversations, alarm clock and phone. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly and the grounds were very well maintained. The pool was area was nice and relaxing. We enjoyed the use of the tennis courts that comes witht he […] resort fee. We would consider returning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not as nice as the pictures. Bad service"
The hotel room AC didnt work and it took the staff several hours to even come to the room and when I complained about the delay the manager came down to the room and gave me a bunch of excuses as to why it took so long. He practically scolded me for complaining. If my kids didn't like the pool so much I would have went back to the Loews Ventana Resort, […] where we were earlier for a business meeting. The Loew was significantly more upscale in terms of room, location, and definitely service versus the Hilton. My contact with the manager was so negative that if I used profanity I would definitely have some words to describe him. They are lucky they have a pool that kids love or no way would I have stayed. "Nice Hotel, great view of the mountain"
Weather was great. We enjoyed the relaxation and sun. I was able to play golf at the country club twice. The layout is nice and the cost was reasonable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice grounds, old room, toilet would not flush."
Disappointed with our check in, we were not provided details about the resort. It was difficult to find parking due to the conferences going on. Our toilet didn't flush and kept running. Be aware of the MISC. fee, ask about what you get for it, we got different answers on what it covers.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Short stay in Tucson"
Very relaxing, although the golf practice facility and both 18 hole courses are off-site. High end restaurant could use a better thought-out menu. Pools are really nice, and fairly quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Spring break with the kids"
I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you have kids unless it's for 4th July or Memorial Day weekend. It was pretty dead over Spring Break and the kids were bored. The pool had one person working at the bar so the service was slow and not exactly luxury. She wasn't even pretending to be happy to be there. The restaurants were pretty good. We had breakfast […] and dinner there. I would recommend breakfast but go out for dinner. I just think that they could jazz it up a bit when you spend that much money. Paid $30 for room upgrade.. they gave us a Jr suite upgrade but stuck us in the corner with no view.. right next to the ice machine and laundry facilities. . Don't get the upgrade you might get my Jr suite..lolGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Warm staff and accomodations"
People on staff were very helpful and friendly. I liked how the restaurant, maids, and front desk people were considerate, caring, and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"surprisingly noisy rooms for a mere $20/day resort"
The first surprise was the mandatory resort fee of $20/day plus tax. Supposedly this gives you the "extra amenities" of free WiFi, and use of stuff one would not need (driving range, one hour of tennis daily, etc) The rooms were clean, but noisy. We especially enjoyed listening to the folks pee and flush in the rooms above and next to us. The light […] shone brightly thru the four sides of the door, and we could listen to the conversations as people walked by in the hall. The coffee maker didn't and the hair dryer didn't either. The facility is beautiful and convenient to northern Tucson area activities. Parking is difficult, especially when busy. Typically a 5-8 min walk to room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic and Friendly!"
We just spent a week at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Hotel. The entire family went along as my husband was there on business. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Okay, it could use a little face lift (i.e. the paint in the bathroom) however, that was just the smallest point. We were so happy with the way we were taken care of. The staff could […] not have been nicer....EVERYONE.....from the front desk, to the restaurants, to the pool stafff. We were thrilled. We would definitely stay there again. "GREAT SERVICE. SPECTACULAR VIEW!"
We have been there a few times and we love it. This time was my birthday weekend. We received a complementary upgrade for our room. We had a suite and the place was spotless. We loved our beds, the pillows and the robes felt really soft. Every staff members had a small and were very attentive. Housekeeping was fast and efficient. We left for breakfast […] and when we came back, our room was completely done. Loved it. We had dinner at Epazote restaurant and the January featured menu was delicious. I had the lamb skews and butternut squash soup and both dishes were absolutely delicious. My husband had the oxtail and it was really good too. We tried Sundance Cafe for breakfast and I loved that they served buffet up until 1pm, so no rush in waking up early. The buffet was ok. It had fruit, oatmeal, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, specialty eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, bread pudding and pastries to name a few. Overall, it was a great weekend vacay. Ive stayed here a couple times. The first time was in a room With a very nice view, unfortunately the sounds from the room Above were far too clear. So the next time around i got a villa which was nice but the patio is not very private. Overall the hotel is very nice, rooms could use some updating but not bad. The location is just beautiful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My only critique would be you don't have a shuttle service. Our car broke down in Catalina when we were arriving in town and had to call a taxi. We have been going to Hilton resorts in Phoenix for a long time and they had a shuttle service. My 3yr old Granddaughter was ill and we could not get her medicine because my vehicle was at Catalina Automotive […] and you had no one to take us to Store pharmacy. Your hotel was beautiful, but unfortunately we will not be coming back. Thank you, Anne Marie Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The views and a dog"
Great way to wake up in the morning and love that it is a dog friendly place though I do think the pet charge is a bit steep when there are no issues.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved it. Nice and clean, beautiful scenery. Golf course close by, as well as tennis courts Would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A wonderful place to spend a night before the Tucson Marathon. Great views of the mountains and nice grounds. The location is great with lots of choices for good food nearby. Did not care for the extra charges for amenities I did not choose to use though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was great except the parking.Due to multiple corporate Christmas parties in the balllrooms, I had to drive around the parking lot for 20 minutes before someone pulled out of a spot behind the service entrance, a long dark walk from my room. There should be reserved parking for overnight guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel , Clean with romms with a viewGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We have stayed at the El conquistador on several occasions. The grounds and setting are beautiful and the staff is excellent. We used both restaurant facilities in the hotel and found the food to be very good. We will definitely be back!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Wonderful stay but $20 resort fee seems a bit much"
Everything was great about our stay except for the resort fee. We only used the pool of the all resort offerings (and I don't think that warranted an extra $20 - we don't golf or play tennis, etc.) so I think that is something we will consider on our next visit. Other than that this is a lovely resort, nice rooms and very friendly and helpful staff […] . Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not impressed one bit!!!"
Beware of casita rooms... There is a LONG walk on an old rocky road that needs to be paved in order to not have to carry luggage because the ground is too bumpy and degraded to roll your bags. They promised to follow-up about a closer room and I never heard back Wednesday to Saturday. Phone reception in the room was bad so when I went out on the back […] patio (not private) and closed the sliding door, I was automatically locked out (at 10pm in nothing but a robe) and had to hike back up to the hotel to be let in. Since I locked the latch on the main door, I had to wait another 20 min for security to let me in while making the statement, "this happens all of the time." I found the service to be subpar and this Hilton did NOT meet my expectations. I took it upon myself to request the handicap accessible room for Saturday night with the expectation to sleep in and rest on Sunday in such a beautiful location in Tucson. I was able to hear every sliding door (and screen) open and close which rumbled loudly over and over and over and over until I gave up by 7am and woke up. I think a little bit of WD40 would make sense be a quick fix! Huge line to check out... But the location is absolutely beautiful and golf is epic! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Mountain view"
/the Hotel was beautiful the mountain view was exceptional would recommend to everyoneGenuine Expedia guest review
This property is VERY outdated!! The grounds were nice to look at and the pool area was nice with the slide and hot tub, but the room was pretty bad. Old dingy carpets and drapes, and the most uncomfortable bed and pillows we have ever had at a Hotel of this rating. Not worthy of the 4+ stars it has.I also had a ring stolen out of our room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Relaxing family oriented resort"
excellent value off season, quiet, well maintained, good service, loved the pool area, location of resort very private. nice but tough 9 hole golf course on grounds. Good for both adults and families. I think they should add the $20/day resort fee into price of the room instead of adding it on later because price is reasonable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Everything was very good, prompt service, rooms were ver nice, clean, would recommend to allGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel close to the city"
Was good..The only thing I did nor like was that the horel charged me another fee beside the price for one night...they did not explain to me that the hotel would charge a fee when I cheked in..they should have told me.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beware of Hidden Charges"
The hotel/resort was very clean and up-scale. However, I was surprised to find a mandatory $20/day "resort fee" when I arrived at the hotel that was not covered by the booking through Hotels.com even though Hotels.com mentions the fee in its confirmation email and says in that email that "We have included all charges provided to us by the property...". […] The resort fee was for such things as a shuttle fee (I had my own transportation); internet access (not needed); local phone calls (there was no phone book in the room and, incredibly, no phone book at the concierge); in-room bottle water (two bottles; the tap water was OK in any case); and a free hour a day at the putting green (closed). Had I known about the fee not being included ahead of time, I would have stayed at a regular hotel much more convenient to downtown. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall good for the price"
Hotel stay was overall pleasant. Biggest gripe was the lack of parking space near the main building. If you dont park early you either have to walk to the overflow or pay for valet. Rooms were pretty clean and comfortable and satff was overall friendly. Location and view are a definite plus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a wonderful time. The hotel did an outstanding job of providing family-fun activities for the Labor Day holiday. We will definitely return for another Stay-Cation!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I live close by but wanted a short getaway with my husband and pets for Labor Day weekend. The room had its own pet bed and food/water bowls, also a sliding door with grass access which was perfect to take the dogs out. The hotel is very pet friendly and the staff is too. The pool area was full and there was limited space to seat but very nice and clean […] area overall. There's an adult pool (over 16 years of age) and that was very relaxing. I wish the hotels had more dining options but overall this hotel is great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful facility that is great for families"
We stayed here for Labor Day weekend with our 2 kids and it was awesome! The staff is so nice and accommodating and the resort had activities planned all weekend long for kids and adults! The resort fee includes so many extras, definitely worth it. We will be making this a tradition every year.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"bad experience hotel"
It's should rate more 3 stars hotel like a rate right now, we stayed at the rooms outside the resort, the room just like a 1,2 stars hotel, we didn't have a kitchen and didn't connect together like the hotel staff told us.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was very tired and certainly did not represent itself as it was presented on the web site. The water slide didn't work for my kids...IN THE SUMMER! The best was I booked through Expedia and they have a $20 per room mandatory resort fee that wasn't included in the booking price. I will not go back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Out of the Way Resort"
We arrived close to 6:00 PM, so we were tired and just wanted to get settled into our room. The pool looked nice and inviting but we didn't make it there. We booked a 2 queen villa. The room itself wasn't bad but it did feel a little "worn." We had a patio but there was really no privacy to it. The beds were quite comfy and I absolutely LOVED the toiletries […] that they gave us. I wanted extra's because I thought we would all fight over them and when we went to the front desk to get more, the girl gave me 4 extra and then said she would have housekeeping bring me more since she only had one extra hair conditioner up at the desk. Within the hour housekeeping showed up with a nice little baggie of two of everything! Even extra things that didn't come in our room originally. That was a real nice touch! We ate at the resort restaurant and for the 3 of us we paid a lot more than we had hoped. The food was tasty however. Overall, I would give this resort a 4. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"You won't be disappointed"
My kids and I stayed for 6 nights in August and it was just perfect for us. We were mostly there to be near family that lived nearby, but have always been told by them that this was a fantastic place. Great customer service and staff. Beautiful grounds. Good food. Nice pool. The off-season rate was extremely reasonable. We will be back for sure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Expensive family trip"
Enjoyed the resort. A little expensive for a younger family. The slide has certain height requirements and various operating hours. Clean and posh resort, more of a couples or retirement trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
