"Great Weekend in NYC"
Great stay. Super easy to get into NYC for sightseeing. Hotel provides a free shuttle service to the train station. Only downside to the shuttle is it is very small and both times we took it it was totally packed. Don't know why the hotel wouldn't use two shuttle vans or one large van. We ended up driving to the train station and it was easy to park […] there. $9 on the weekends for up to 12 hours (note: if you are a minute over 12 hours the rate goes up to $29)(there was also a $20 event rate on Sunday when the Giants were playing). The hotel is nice and does the trick for tired sightseers but could certainly use some updating. The lower floors seem renovated and the higher floors are not. The room was very hot. Maintenance had to come in and reset the panel in order to cool it down. The shower was cold for about 10 minutes and finally turned hot as I was about to get out. We were in town for a Jets Dolphins Game. Got the hotel for a great rate. Hotel was very nice, bed was super comfy, food was good and there was a Starbucks inside the hotel! Took a shuttle to the game. That was just ok. On the way to the game the shuttle was right out front and got us there in minutes. Coming home we had to wait in the parking lot 45 […] minutes until the shuttle could keep dropping people off and coming back and cabs don't drive you back to hotel because they say it's too close. The hotel is ok if you are not expecting much...the free parking is a plus. Initial check in was friendly and honest and she did her best to get us a quiet room away from the visiting high school students.The lobby and resturaunt were obviously chilly. I mentioned this to the desk clerk the following day, and she looked at me like I had lost my mind. […] EVERYONE in the lobby was wearing their jackets to compensate. The desk clerk blamed outside the colder air etc, but I could not see how that effected the resturaunt. My wife also mentioned the obviously cold gym room..go figure:(. I waited in line to give her our keys and tell her we were checking out. Another thing that we were not happy with was the housekeeping staff was knocking on all the doors at 8:30am asking if we were still in the room and when we were leaving. Check out is not until 12pm! We found if very strange that they did not have a bartender on duty until 4pm while they had a conference going on in the hotel as well as a Giants game that day. It was dipped in in the center of the bed and the bed was uncomfortable. My back was aching in the morning. A 2 star hotel/inn can provides better customer service, cleaner rooms, faster wireless internet services, and breakfast.
