"Great access to metlife stadium"
Very close to Metlife stadium with shuttle service to game for nominal fee. Shuttle service to Secaucus station to catch train to Newark airport was very convenient. Hotel could use some updating which was unusual for a Hilton property. Could use some maintenance for example elevators had panels missing and looked dilapidated. Restaurant was overpriced […] and my meal was not good at all so I recommend other food options. But overall, definitely will stay again for future events at metlife stadium. "My stay sucked"
This hotel sucked! You had to flush the toilet 10 times in order for it to work. The water coming out of the shower was so forceful it hurt your skin. The ac was not very cold. I originally booked the hotel because they said there is a shuttle to NY only to realize when I got there that it was only to the train station and you had to pay $8 to get to […] and from NY. Also, it said that you would be given complimentary water then when I got there I was told that it was only for gold and silver members. The description of the hotel was very misleading. It was also very pricey. I think I should have gotten more for what I paid. The pool was also not very clean. I would never stay at a hilton hotel again. I got a king size room and it was tiny. No room to walk, the bed took up most the room. There was a desk but it was so cramped, you couldn't even use the chair. The hotel looks amazing from the outside and the inside was just as nice. In house Starbucks and Restaurant was very convenient given that there is nothing withing walking distance. "Perfect for our group"
We recently had a group of 18 (girls volleyball team) there and it was fine. I had read some pretty rough reviews so I was nervous but it was great. The front desk staff seemed somewhat inexperienced but they went out of their way to help on multiple occasions. One of our 6 rooms had a bathroom that we asked to be re-cleaned but it wasn't anything major. […] It's NYC and the price was great they have buses and shuttles to all major train stations to help your travels. It does show some wear and tear in some places but it's busy... "The Best of the Worst"
We have family in the area and have stayed at a lot of different hotels in the area over the years. Frankly, it's hard to find a decent hotel in Northern NJ. This hotel used to be the Sheraton Meadowlands before it was the Hilton. Not much has improved since we stayed there then. Hotels in the Meadowlands area tend to see a lot of hard livin' so they […] need to be renovated often. This is not really a business hotel (although it looks like it could be one) but more of a hotel for guests who want to see an event at the stadium and party in the rooms. As a result, this hotel shows some wear and tear and it's not quiet. One of our mattresses was literally a giant sink hole. I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel with such a bad mattress! Looking beyond the trendy lobby and Starbucks, this place needs a DEEP CLEAN and investment in basic things like mattresses, towels and bed linens. Additionally, it is also a NIGHTMARE to get to from the NJ turnpike. Only positive thing I can say about it was that when we brought the mattress situation to the attention of the front desk, they did take money off the bill for it. Did not service our room the first day. When I asked about this on our return after 7pm they said "the housekeepers went home for the day" I'm a General Manager in the Hospitality industry and my housekeepers never goes home. There is always at least one or two on duty should guests need a sudden room refresher, or if a child had an "accident" in bed. […] Let them work shifts. "Good option outside NYC"
We have stayed here before (it used to be a Sheraton). Is a good option if you don't mind not satying in the city and you want spacious rooms without breaking the bank. If you are attending an event at MetLife Stadium, then this choice is a no-brainer. We choose this hotel every time we go to NYC because they have free shuttle service to/from Seacacus […] station in NJ, and from there is an easy $3 USD ride each way. However, the service is quite flawed: They use a van that can hold only 12 people. And every morning there's like 20 people trying to get a seat. And the same goes at night trying to go back to the hotel. So everyone is tripping over each other to cut to the front of the line. Coming back at night, we were some of the first at Seacacus station and formed a line... then more people showed up and when the van arrived the line broke apart and people didn't respect the order in which we showed up. The driver doesn't care, he says he just takes any 12 people, he doesn't care who showed up first. I think the hotel should come up with a system where people call and list for a specific time, so no one rushes to the van door and call "shotgun". The elevators were very slow we had to wait 5-10 minutes everytime even though they had five elevators. No bag in the garbage pails in the room.
