"Family Reunion !!"
I stayed at the Sheraton this past Labor day weekend. My stay was enjoyable yet a few things left me feeling iffy; such as housekeeping and other room services took their sweet time bring towels and the microwave/refrigerator that I requested. The "view" wasn't really a view but yet a balcony overlooking a pool and more rooms. There was nothing in walking […] distance and the shuttle only travels within a 2 mile radius of the hotel. And to top it off when I checked out I was told there was no extra fees charged to my card and yet when I checked my bank account the Sheraton had charged me $25 unbeknownst to me. Very nice hotel. About 8 mi from downtown and approx 5 from the Opryland Mall, which were our two points of interest. Workout facility is 24 hours and nicely equipped. The hotel was lovely. Rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. We loved the balcony overlooking the gorgeous pool! NOT ONE BUG! Inside or out! (That I saw) No mosquitos at night or spiders, they must spray a good insecticide! The staff was just as friendly as could be! If you need a refrigerator in your room, they will bring one up (if available) free […] of charge. There is a canopy covering part of the deck with fans above where you can eat, very good service. Food was good and a bit pricey. But we expected that. The breakfast bar was great for $15.00. I think it should have been $10! :) We were just 10 minutes (if that) from the Grand ole opry, Opryland, the mall and great food! You MUST eat at the Santa Fe cattle company! "Overpriced in My View"
It is a cash cow, but a comfortable one. There are charges everywhere you turn. I was taken aback by a subtle deception: for example, the client (I felt like one) is given one smaller bottle of bottled water (read the small print on the hangtag), whilst right next to the smaller bottle is a larger container of bottled water for $5 (again, watch out […] and read the small print). Once I finished the small bottle, I nearly opened the larger one, by mistake! Oops, there would go $5. The internet service: I had not a clue that the charge was nearly $10/day. This fact needs to be made abundantly clear from the moment you check in. In addition, since there are no restaurants nearby, you become a prisoner to their higher prices for ordinary cuisine. For a world traveler, I was left with a very mixed impression of this property. There are, however, excellent amenities: for one, the shuttle service to the airport. "Nice hotel but..."
We've stayed here before a few times, but this time was not as pleasant as those before. The hotel staff appeared to be short-handed at check-in. Then the power went out and check-ins couldn't be completed. Keys couldn't be made due to computers being down. There was noone to help with baggage, or direct traffic for drop-offs. We sat for 30 min. just […] waiting for people to move their cars - that was after we checked in! Pillows on the bed are horrible, resulting in little to no sleep! The cool air return vent in our room was covered in dust and we left a note (plus tip, I might add) for the maid asking her to clean it. It was still dirty when we returned. The maid took our dirty towels but didn't replace them. Thankfully, we still had 2 extra towels in the bathroom. As I said before, we've stayed there previously and it was great. Sheraton Music City is a very large hotel with large, clean, comfortable rooms. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the stay. The drive to downtown is roughly 15-20 minutes but the deal I got on the room made up for the drive. Hotel is older but nice and VERY large.
