Everything about the hotel was quite nice with only two exceptions -- the elevators were strangely bouncy, and one of them went only to floors 9 and 11 on one night, no matter the button pushed. "I Expect More from a Hotel This Expensive"
The Crowne Plaza - Billings is a nice hotel, don't get me wrong, but it's not as nice as they seem to think it is nor for what they charge. We reserved a Queen bed and were given two doubles. (I'm 5'-11", my feet hung off the end, and it was a little TOO small for a couple our age . . . even on Valentine's day.) The blankets are some waffle-like material […] (that oddly match the shower curtain) . . . are these from a hospital??? . . . the handle for the shower didn't fit the fixture (was it off of some other model tub???), was difficult to adjust and rattled, and the toilet kept running all night. The internet access was great and easy to use, the room was clean and comfortable (in spite of the weird blankets), but the other things (like we got maid service even though we specifically asked for the room not to be serviced) that just didn't rise to the quality that one expects from a 4-star hotel. And, believe me, they charge you like it's a 5-star. We were extra happy to have our car parked under cover this trip. We stayed an extra day because the roads where bad. We arrived late at night and they were not prepared, even though we prepaid, but the gentleman was apologetic and very nice. He gave us vouchers for breakfast. Stayed here prior to an early morning flight out of Billings. Staff provided help cheerfully and proactively. We were very happy with our room, from the comfy beds to the bathroom set up and amenities. We didn't eat in the restaurant but we had a very pleasant drink (mine was complimentary!) in the bar downstairs before we headed out to dinner (several […] good options within walking distance, but if homeless people make you nervous then perhaps driving is a better option as there were a few in the neighborhood - they weren't aggressive but they did panhandle). Only 10 minutes from the airport. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel restaurant is a bit pricey though. My experience with this hotel was great. I read several of the reviews before booking my reservation and I must say I did not agree with many of them. I found everything to be very pleasant. The room was very tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I ate at the restaurant on the top floor for breakfast […] (had the buffet) and it was very good, and the view was amazing. If there was anything odd about this hotel it would be the parking. There is an outside parking lot on the south side of the building that has very few spots to park in for such a large hotel. Across the street on the north side is a large parking garage you can park in and it is connected by a covered walkway on the second level to the hotel. At first the parking thing seemed a little confusing but after you do it once it's a piece of cake, and the front desk will validate your ticket so it won"t cost anything. The Crowne Plaza Billings is an efficiently run businessman's hotel, conveniently located in the center of town. Good quality restaurants abound in the area, easily walkable. There is also a "co" cathedral (so named because the Bishop shares a seat elsewhere) and an excellent used book store nearby. Our room on the 15th floor had some great views of […] the surrounding area. And, because it was on the 15th, breakfast was included. The 17th floor concierge lounge where the breakfast buffet was served has some great views of the surrounding area, including the mountains. The buffet was fulsome and had some variation every day, including fruit, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, etc. If you arrive near closing time, don't expect a full plate unless you complain to management, which some people did. The Crowne Plaza is a nice hotel as far as location and view of the City of Billings. However, there is much room for improvement. A few issues I experienced over a four day stay included only decaffeinated coffee available in the hotel rooms and the maid staff forgot to put any in the room on a daily basis. Local calls from the hotel cost 75 cents […] and there is no awareness made of this fee on the phone or in the room literature. Overall the maid service was less than satisfactory. The Kleenex box ran out on the second day and was never refilled. I would probably stay there again for business but would be aware of a few less than desirable quirks about the hotel. Attractive and well appointed room with very comfortable bed. My main complaint was a stale musty odor like old cigar smoke which was really off-putting. Proximity to rail tracks and frequent train noise also interfered with good sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
