The hotel itself was less than a mile from "the hood". I wouldn't recommend walking anywhere in the vicinity. The room was nice, but there was obvious water damage near the windows. "Best to have a car rental"
This hotel is away from the downtown area and you will need to get a cab or have your own car. Cabs are hard to find. Usually have to call them. Be sure to allow 10 to 15 minutes. As far as rooms, the ac wasn't keeping the room cool even though I set it to 57 degrees.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

They Accepted early check in without any issues. Very nice staff and facilities. Room is beautiful, quiet, clean and comfortable. Swimming pool and jazzy are good size. The only complaint I have was the strong smell of deodorizer when you get off the elevator on the eleventh floor. That's the floor we stayed on so don't know if it was like that on the other floors or not. You could smell it by the elevator on the first floor too.
