I have stayed at this location several times over the last few years and have always been pleased with the service and quality of the accommodations. It is a well-run facility, courteous and very quiet. Rooms are good size with good beds and nice touches like thick, personal bathrobes. Dining and other services are somewhat pricey, but this is a golf resort and this is to be expected. I will certainly stay there again when I am in the area.

We were looking for a nice place to sleep at for one night and we wanted it to be clean and comfortable. However, when we got to our room it was every travelers nightmare, the sheets where old and dingy with a faint smell of smoke, the bed spread was so dirty and smelly we decided to kick it off the bed (thankfully I travel with a sleeping bag), the pillows I can only imagine are heavy with the accumulation of mites, the carpets where disgusting and old, the furniture and bed are also very old and the bath tub was stained with rust. Furthermore, and here is where it gets even better, throughout the night there was a loud noise coming from within the walls, it sounded like someone was badly playing a Cello. I know what you are going to say, "why didn't I complain"? We were simply so exhausted to do so, and it was very late in the night when we checked in. Please read all the bad comments first, the good ones, looking back sound so doctored I almost feel like it was my own fault for being naive.

We were VERY pleased with the hotel and room. It is a great value for the money. There may be spots of flaking paint and on occasion, a whiff of musty smell but I think that is due to the warm climate and proximity to the beach. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The pool and spa are brand new. We really enjoyed the steam room. It is really close to everything - Solana Beach and minutes to the freeway so you can drive the short distance to La Jolla and San Diego. This residential neighborhood is very nice. There are great strip malls nearby if you need anything.

While you can tell that this isn't the newest resort, you can also tell that the staff here most definitely takes pride in keeping everything well maintained. We also found the food and service to be great. The brunch was great- not just some muffins and cold cereal- and everyone there was on the ball. I would definitely recommend staying there and would return myself.

Due to unforseen circumstances, we booked this hotel only a short time before our trip. We were surprised to find a room at the low rate we were quoted, and read many of the reviews to see if we could determine why the rate was so low. We decided to take a chance, knowing we could always leave if need be. However, we were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. We were greeted by Mickealla (sp?) at the front desk and we asked to see the room before we checked in. She gave us keys to our room, and also to a room she was suggesting as an minimal price upgrade. After seeing both rooms, we opted for the upgrade, as it was a full suite, complete with two full baths, living room, fireplace, two TV's, wet bar w/fridge, two closets, king size bed with upgraded linens and comforter, etc. All this for a price lower than anything else we had found in the area for a single room at a lesser location and with fewer amenities. We were very happy with our stay and would stay there again.

I would never recommend this to anyone. I think the only reason they are still in business is it is close to the horsetrack and maybe thats who stays there.

I was very impressed with the facility and the customer service. The lady at front desk was very helpful and accommodating. I had called earlier and could not connect to the internet. When I ran into her a few hours later in the lobby, she somehow remembered me and asked if I needed the engineer to go to my room and help me with the internet. Then I got take-out from their restaurant and the service there was also wonderful. The room was spacious, clean and simple. I noticed a few things such as a ripped lamp shade and the chairs were a bit old. But aside form that, the room was really good for the price. I enjoyed being in such a nice community with the golf course, the gym, etc. Great surrounding neighborhood if you care to take an evening walk. And the coffee shop in the lobby was also great!

After reading the reviews on this property-we were expecting the worst!! The primary purpose of our visit was to attend the horse races at Del Mar. This hotel location was great - about 15 minutes away. When we arrived, we were offered an upgraded room for an incremental fee. The upgraded room had nicer amenities and a view of the golf course. We were glad we took the offer. As noted in other reviews, the furniture was not the most up to date, but it was fine, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. If you are expecting a big name chain hotel experience - you might want to look elsewhere. The "Business Center" was a desk in the lobby with a computer and printer. Internet access from the room is included in the price of the stay. If you are looking for a quiet country club ambiance- then this is the place. We really enjoyed the laid back country club experience. Everyone was gracious and friendly. We especially enjoyed the company of our servers in the bar and restaurant. By the way - we enjoyed some of the most fantastic meal deals we have found in some time. One night - a great prime rib dinner special was offered for $19.95. Another night - we dined at the restaurant on the "Ten for Ten" menu. A special menu was available with entrees of $10 each (you could double up for $5 more). A salad(enough for 4 people) was $5. A wide selection of bottles of wine were available for half price. A table was reserved in our name and we were addressed by name. We felt like members of the club!! (if you do this - make sure you get a reservation - the place was packed). Next time we will plan some time for the spa and golf. The value for the price was outstanding and we would not hesitate to stay here again!
