We spent 4 nights in the hotel for a long weekend. This hotel provided the worst service ever in a 5 start hotel. The rooms and facilities are OK but the property begs for a new management. Staff hardly speaks in English and even if they do they are not helpful at all. In the room either there was no hot water in the shower or no water pressure. After […] complaining we got upgraded but did little to increase our comfort level. Staff insulted us in the club lounge, a waiter rejected to serve us with a pride (!). In the restaurant we were rejected to receive the table what we liked even if it was not reserved, and I could go on... Unless for corporate reasons you have to go there try to choose another hotel. This was without a doubt one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I am only giving the hotel 2 stars because we finally fell on a Manager that actually understood what service was about and tried making it up to us by upgrading us to a suite (we refused as it wasn't worth our trouble for one night) and sending up a bottle of wine and some […] cheese. I'm afraid I misplaced the note from that Manager, which is a shame since he deserves a promotion. When we checked in, the receptionist mistakenly deleted our reservation and it took us over 20 minutes to get through the process. In the room, the smell was bad so we had to wait for somebody to come up and spray it and the towels were dirty - another 5 calls and 40 minutes to fix. The internet wasn't working - another 20 mins. Throughout all this nightmare, the people we spoke with on the phone just sounded bored. The following day, after a long walk in the town, we came back to find that somebody had taken a packet of cookies from the minibar and left them half eaten on the counter. Are you kidding me??? We called the manager again and this time - at last - found somebody who was sympathetic to our situation. The rooms are decent, though the shower is entirely visible from the room. Oh, and as other reviews point out, you need to pay for EVERYTHING. The parking, the Internet, the pool (!!!). Stay away from this hotel if you value your vacation. Read more

The hotel is very well maintained; great spa/pool, foodie restaurant (though, not cheap) on the top floor with awesome views of the city; service is excellent; lovely breakfast. The neighborhood is quiet at night, but if you don't mind walking, you can be in the happening Baixa/Chado within 20 minutes.

This property is highly overrated by American standards. Not a good location for tourists - far from shopping and restaurants or any charming Lisbon areas. Nearby there are mostly pastelarias (snack bars) and vacant streets with empty stores for rent and stray dogs. The hotel is from the 1970s and looks it - dark and dated style and decor, low ceilings […] that give you a closed in feeling, flight attendants seem to flock there which is never a good sign. The lobby and bar on the roof reek of cigarettes. The designer must have a thing for dark brown because everything is done in brown tones, even the walls in the rooms! Room service was mediocre at best - bland sauce and overcooked pasta. Breakfast was mostly stale carbs and room temperature juice. We would not stay here again. Read more

Club Rooms not up to standard compared to other Sheraton locations. Breakfast is limited (no omelet station) and the hot dishes (scrambled eggs, potatoes, etc) were all cold. Limited variety at breakfast, better to eat out. High fee for internet access in room.

The staff lacked the enthusiasm and seemed almost not interested. They werent very helpful in providing tourist information. The lobby bar was excellent most of my time there. However, one time I told them I was allergic to mushrooms and ordered a sandwich without mushrooms. My sandwich arrived with mushrooms. I returned it and the next round, "most" […] of the mushrooms were removed - but not all. A mistake once is acceptable but not correcting the mistake by making me a new sandwich?? I can only say good things about the hotel. The front desk staff are very helpfull. The rooms has been recently refurbished. The spa is good, the gym is very new with modern equipments. The Internet is very expensive, 19 Euros for 24 hours, but depending where your room is, you can connect with a public wifi service called FON_ZON_FREE for 2.90 Euros […] a day. We visited Lisbon before returning home having attended a wedding in Tomar. We stayed 2 nights at the Sheraton. The room was great, very comfortable king size bed, and a nice extra bed for our 13 year old. Bathroom was ultra-modern with all you can ask for. The room was clean but we found a flip-flop behind the curtain, forgotten by the previous guests […] which leads us to believe they didn't vacuum everywhere. The metro is only a few steps away and the ride to the center is quick and easy. Also there is a shopping center across the street where you can have breakfast at reasonable prices if you do not wish to pay the Sheraton prices. We would go back to this hotel. Read more

Fantastic hotel. We really enjoyed our stay, and after bagging a really good deal online we found it to be fantastic value for money. The rooms are amazing (although you want to be comfortable with your roommate as the bathrooms are see-through) - but for a couples getaway it was novel. The views from the rooms (if you are up high and facing the water) […] are amazing too! The service overall was great, as was the lobby bar and top floor bar & restaurant. The food at the top floor restaurant while a little pricey, was fantastic, as was the port and cocktails in the top floor bar. Its worth it for the views! The pool & spa were really nice, although pity they didn't allow alcoholic drinks by the pool. They should also offer a late afternoon discount for using the pool - €12.50 is ok if you plan on being there for a few hours, but not for a quick dip. The only other thing we noted was that they were very sparse with the in-room shower gels and soaps. And the in-room coffee facilities would be made better with one of those Nespresso machines, rather than just a basic kettle and little sachet. But overall we loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again and recommend it to family & friends. Read more

I paid a great deal to stay two nights in a five star hotel. I expected that by paying a lot to stay, many of the amenities would be included. There was a fee to use Wi Fi, and to use the pool. Two things that I think should automatically be included with your stay. Be careful when ordering room service, the expensive prices don't include the room service […] fee. When I was at the spa I was offered a glass of water, then charged for room service- 4 euro for the water and 6 euro for the service fee. Look closely at your bill when checking out, I was charged for items from the mini bar that I did not take. Luckily they removed these items from my bill before I paid. Worst of all, I found the hotel staff to mostly be unfriendly and unhelpful. I will not be staying at a Sheraton again. Read more

Not a very good check in experience. Lots of staff but only one girl dealing with the lengthening check in queue. The rest seemed intent on either staring at computer screens or fussing over the airline crew who were taking priority over everyone! Be careful using the Internet in the lobby which is free. You must do this EVERY time you want to use it! Cannot understand why this so called 5star establishment charges for Wi-Fi in the rooms. This should be free of charge in 2012! I recently stayed in a 3 star hotel in the US and it was free there, come on Sheraton, get your act together! Could not fault the rooms. We used the Sheraton as our base for a week whilst touring Lisbon and surrounding areas. Great to come back to, but we did avoid the expense of breakfast, spa and swimming pool. We found the staff incredibly helpful and friendly and the comfort level high. As for getting around in Lisbon, there is a constant flow of cheap, metered taxis. I cannot emphasise enough how disappointed I was with this hotel. Whilst the lobby area and hotel rooms are furnished to a high standard, the abismal customer service and total inability of staff to communicate effectively made for an extremely poor experience. Upon check-in, my partner and I were upgraded to the Club Floor. We were specifically informed […] that breakfast was included in light of our upgrade and that we could either have breakfast in the club lounge or downstairs. On the first morning we opted to have breakfast downstairs and afterwards we were presented with a bill. When we gave our room number there was no indication this would happen and nor was it expected in light of the specific representation made at checkin. Naturally, we protested and after an embarrasing conversation with the hotel mananger he reversed the charge but maintained that breakfast downstairs was not included in our rate. He did not say that breakfast in the club lounge was not included either so my partner and I chose to have breakfast there the next day. We were also presented with a bill there! This hotel is not in a great location - over 2km from the city centre. Top floor bar lacks character. Maids look away as you pass and wish them a good morning.
