Check in was efficient and staff were friendly and professional. We couldn't have the room until 2.00pm but we were up-graded without extra cost. Concierge held the luggage, and there was no wait to deposit this. The room was newly furnished and contained all the facilities we needed. The air conditioning control outlets in the well below were noisy so windows had to be closed during the night, which was OK for us. Self-service breakfast gave us a very good choice and staff were plentiful, polite and efficient. When a small queue formed because tables were full, a second restaurant was immediately opened. Check-out was speedy and again staff were courteous and pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located at Marble Arch Tube station on Oxford street.

I have stayed at the Thistle Marble Arch on many occasions, it is a very nice hotel with some of the best staff in London. I was a little disappointed on this visit to pay for an upgrade and then find myself on a floor that was being refurbished and so decorators, the smell of varnish and noise was what greated me in the morning. That said, it is a very good hotel, just make sure you stay away from the floors that are being worked on. The staff are excellent and the breakfast very welcome.

Very good breakfast hot and cold buffet but as our stay was midweek the dining room was very busy. My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 8-11 April -3 nights - and will certainly make it our choice when we next visit London. The hotel's location in Oxford Street is excellent - convenient for everything: shopping, restaurants, the underground stations of Marble Arch and Bond Street. The West End theatres and the many places of interest are only a short distance on the underground. The rooms in the hotel are very comfortable and clean and have everything you would expect of a 4 star hotel ie safe deposit box, ironing board and iron, trouser press, tea/coffee facilities, television, seating area etc. The staff are polite, friendly and very helpful. There is an excellent choice of food offered at breakfast - hot/cold buffet.

Our room was comfortable and not a bad size for London. Marble bathroom was lovely - very art deco. Staff were friendly and more than happy to supply the extra tea supplies we asked for. We had no view from our room as we were at the back of the hotel, but it made no difference - the room comes equipped with Sky channels.

I was surprised to find a hotel of this quality in this location for the price, this hotel is on Oxford Street (although the entrance is just off it), over the road from Marble Arch and a few mintues walk from the tube station. If you are looking for somewhere to be a base for going out for a night or staying longer I don't think you could find a better placed hotel. The rooms are big, well equipped and comfortable and the coomunal areas are well presented. If I had to say one downside of the hotel its that the lifts are at one end so if your room happens to be at the other end you will have quite a walk which isn't great if you have had a long day walking around the city, but as negatives go this is pretty minor and would certainly not stop me from staying here again. Something to note is that if you are driving to the hotel there is a car park next door which is very convenient and does allow for a 24 hour stay for about £36, so be sure to factor this into the cost if you are comparing it to a hotel with free parking (if you can find one in the city!). It will still be my first port of call when looking to book a room in the city centre in the future!

When we checked in we upgraded to the business floor for the equivallent of an extra night. We got breakfast, use of the computer (which comes in handy for checking in for flights) and a paper. I think they also served cocktails at night but I don't drink so I didn't take advantage. The hotel is right off Oxford street, which is a main shopping area, now this is a good and a bad thing. It is great to be near so many stores, a tube station also, but because you are near so many stores it is really crowded and noisy. My only compliant about the hotel is the room service. We ordered room service only one night and the food was good..don't get me wrong. The cost was not however..our two meals were about 20.00 pounds maybe the vat tax and the tray fee, yes tray fee, hiked it to almost 30.00. Needless to say we never ordered room service again!
