The breakfast was continental ie cereal and toast. cooked breakfast you had to buy but was very cheapy and absolutely great, once of the nicest cooked breakfasts ive had in a long time. Dinner menu is ok but way too expensive - dont go- great restaurants just 5 minutes away on oxford street and much cheaper! overall though the hotel is really good and i would definately go back, making sure i asked foa large room of course....

The lifts & corridors are a little tired looking, but our room looked as though it had been refurbished recently, and was very pleasant & clean. Very nice continental breakfast, cooked breakfast (at a small extra charge ) was cooked to order. The hotel does afternoon tea in the lobby which is very welcome after a day at the shops. There were a few restaurants within walking distance, the one we tried was 'Island', which is right next to the tube station, and was excellent, and is highly recommended. All in all, for our a short stay Commodore Hotel was just right.

If you are looking for a new hotel then keep looking. The Commodore is a hotel from the 19th century, in other words small and old. The location is great for any sightseeing you want to do. Hyde park, Kennsington garden and Palace are a few minutes walk. The tube station and Paddington station are only minutes walk away. For the money this is a good hotel because of the location. I would recommend the Swan Pub just down the street for a pint and a good supper. I think that a 4 star rating is a stretch but using the hotel for a base while sightseeing you can't beat it.

It was situated in a nice area (Hyde Park) it was a tad far from the rest of the city, but the 2 block walk to the tubes wasn't bad. If you are from the states and are not accustomed to being on a hard bed, watch out, was like a slab of concrete with sheets on it. All was quaint and the staff was friendly (at least by London terms) but had a great time. The morning staff was of help when my cab didn't show up in the morning, but otherwise; they did hail for a radio taxi to get me to the train station asap. Had no problems with the internet and the breakfast was decent.

Having stayed in numerous hotels within the London area including Croydon, my first impression of this hotel was somewhat sceptical. The bedrom I was allotted on arrival was no bigger than a shoebox, there was no room whatsoever in which to relax. The TV was in the wardrobe and not viewable while lying in bed because the wardrobe door obstucted the view. The bathroom was abismal, small, towels where located on top of the toliet cistern. The flush did not work, only by accidentally knocking the cisterfn lid did the cistern fill to enable the toilet to flush. We had not had the pleasure of breakfast when the maid knocked on the door to remind us that we had to check out by 11000am. Outside the bedroom new linen and towels where deposited presumably ready to be ensconched as soon as we cecked out. Overall it will be a long time before I even consider returning if ever to the Commordore Hotel.

After 3 weeks of staying in hotels all over Europe with poor water pressure and little or no hot water, it was a welcome change to stay somewhere with a great shower. The staff was friendly and helpful and even helped me find my cell phone I left in a car service we used. The bed was not awesome (small and very hard) and the carpet had seen better days, but it was clean. It was convenient enough to a few restaurants (which I never ate at, and a couple pubs, which also I never visited) but pretty close to both Paddington and Lancaster Gate tube stops. Just a hop, skip and jump to Hyde Park which is a very pretty park. The bed was unusually hard and another blanket would have been nice, and the heater didn't work when it was freezing outside, but was nice when it did finally work. The staff was pretty nice, and no complaints about any of them. It wasn't "fabulous" which I think of the Intercontinental Hotel, but other than the rock hard bed, I find it pretty equal to that of a really small Hilton Gardens here in the states.

This is in Central London so all major attractions are very close. Cons: Hotel reception could be a little more friendlier, most were with the exception of the woman who greeted us into the hotel who did not even smile or made us feel welcome. One nice perk was that the hotel staff did let us leave our luggage at the hotel since checkout was at 11 and we returned later in the day to pick up which was really generous of them. I got a really good rate for my hotel room and after reading some of the horror stories about lots of low budget London hotels - was expecting, not so much the worst but just not much. I was pleasantly surprised, even though it took me a while to find it as the maps on Hotels.com, while generally good, fall down when accomodating London's tiny, old fashioned streets. Once you find the right street, take note that the street numbers are all on the same side NOT 'even' on one side 'odd' on the other, AND they don't necessarily go in a straight line. As is the case with the Commodore the street number curves around an old Church square so the Hotel is tucked around the corner in the street. Once you get there it's beautiful, the reception area is gorgeous, and the room I stayed in was comfortable, clean and warm. The restaurant is modern and elegantly decorated. The buffet breakfast was very good the food was fresh and abundant and the service was professional and the staff were lovely. Minor gripes were the size of the lift, it's tiny (3 people and a small amount of luggage and it's full) and the only just warm water in the shower. That being said, the bathrooms and room were spotless, warm and comfortable. The receptionist was professional and courteous when I arrived and had all my information ready. I would absolutely choose to stay here when I return to London - its not the most modern but where you would like it to be, like the bathrooms and the restaurant it is. I felt like I was staying at a wealthy relative's London town house when I was in my room - it was charming and comfortable and great value for money.

It fit everything we needed - comfortable, very close to a London Underground station. The rooms are smaller than US hotel rooms, but this is standard to all London hotels. We requested and received a non-smoking room, which is very important to us. The staff were helpful with questions on what sights to see and how to get there. They even did us a huge favor: My daughter, studying in Madrid, had broken her camera. She would be coming to London after we checked out, and would be staying in a hostel The staff kept my camera locked up and gave it to my daughter three days later when she came by. That was quite considerate of the them.
