"Excellent Staff!"
Extremely friendly and responsive staff. Nice breakfast with actual food and not just sweet stuff. Rooms very clean, just worn in some places but not enough to take anything away from the experience. Only negative is that there is only one entrance into the site, which means only one exit. There was construction outside so the one entrance/exit was only one lane, so only one car at a time could get through. However, would definitely consider staying here again. Price very reasonable.

"Very nice place in a less than special area"
Good points- great beds, cold A/C, nice bathroom, comfy chairs. We were in town for a funeral, so we only stayed one night. The location is convenient in that it is right off the highway. But access was difficult. Had to drive through the ghost town mall parking lot to find the front of the hotel. Texas City isn't your scenic vacation destination, but if you need a good place to stay if you have to be there, the Fairfield is probably one of the best choices in town.

"We Will Be Back"
The only major "defect" in our room were the matresses. They felt a bit worn, but they did not make our stay less pleasurable. We will definitely book here again. We had easy, quick access to Galveston w/out paying the higher rates for a "on the island" hotel.

I thought that the over all hotel was very nice. My room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the hotel pool. The breakfast was very good, there were plenty of choices and they even had fresh fruit. The only complaint would be the fire alarm that went off at like 6:00 in the morning and continued to go off for about two hours. None one at the hotel informed us what was going on. I had to get dressed go downstairs and find out myself and then I didn't feel safe afterwards because it continued to go off. We never found out why just that they didn't suspect any fire.

"Away from the hustle of Houston"
We were here to photograph a wedding a short distance away, and this was an ideal location. The hotel and staff, as well as the breakfast were very accomodating and met our needs. The bed was extremely comfortable! My only complaint was being able to hear the guests on the floor above moving around. There was a lot of running for a time, caused by excited children, I'm sure. It did stop by bedtime, and we didn't complain to the staff. I feel sure that they would have addressed the issue had we asked them to. I suppose floors and ceilings can only block out so much noise. I would definitely stay there again. Very clean, updated, and pleasant.

"Different from expectations as set by website"
The rooms were supposed to fit 5 people because it was 2 beds and a sofa, but the sofa was not there. We reserved 7 identical rooms through hotels.com, and ended up with rooms that were different from what we expected them to be and different from one another. Some had microwaves, some didn't, and again, none had a sofa. The water pressure in the bathroom was very low and the elevators were very small! We even ended up paying more than our invoice from hotels.com stated because of some room tax (in addition to state tax), which is significant when you are reserving this many rooms. Our stay was okay overall, but did not meet our expectations.

"Very good hotel!"
It was great. The beds were soooo comfortable! I didn't know our room did not come with a refrigerator until we got in the room, but over than that every thing was great! Breakfast wasn't too bad considering it is hotel food. It is right next to the mall and was right down the road from Gringo's mexican food! Which was also excellent.

"Good, not great."
We stay in hotels ALL the time. When we booked this hotel, we spent quite a bit per night knowing it would probably be really nice. I was dissapointed in the room. There was a couch and a bed and being 4 of us, we had to make the couch into a bed each night (but couldn't find where the sheets were for making the bed up. When they cleaned the room the next morning, and we unfolded the bed for sleeping, the sheets were still on it. (So it was never checked or changed). It was a good hotel, including food, just not GREAT for the price we paid. (expecting more for the $).

"Okay, we spent most of our time in Galveston."
The breakfast was one of the worse breakfast at a hotel that I have ever ate. It was so bad we left and went across the street. The lobby the furniture needs to be replaced. It is old and very soiled. I was so amazed that they have not changed any thing. We had two rooms and we left at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning and we were returning back at 3 p.m. and our rooms were not cleaned. I even told the desk clerk when we left. They finally came back at 5 and then they were rush us because they were going off the clock. They made the beds and pick up the towels that was all. They did not vaccum or cleaned the bathroom.

We have stayed in a lot of hotel/motels. This one had by far the BEST customer service we've ever had. Every single staff member was friendly, willing to help and always smiling! If I ever happen to need a hotel in this area, I will DEFINATELY stay here again. Well worth the money!

"Very quiet and comfortable"
The hotel itself was not as new as some other hotels but the room was very nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. Our room was right across from the elevator but we didn't hear a thing the whole time. Very quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

"Worst Marriott ever"
The hotel stay was pleasant considering we weren't in the room much. This particular location needs some updating... The worst part of it all was the sheets on the bed had three yellow stains and when we told the front desk the assistant manager who served as the clerk came and change the sheets. While this was a good gesture one would think something would have been taken off the bill or we would have been compensated in some manner...an apology and change of sheets was it!!! While the location was great for our trip I think we will stay someplace else next year... This definitely wasn't worth the amount we paid., I think Motel 6 and this particular location are about what and what!!! Looks nothing like the picture

"Nice hotel, great location for our activities"
This was a great experience, I had my two grandchildren and we had daily activities planned, then they could come in and spend time in the pool. All the staff were so friendly and they greeted us like returning family everytime we came in the door. They were extremely helpful with suggestions of restaurants when we told them we would like seafood and chinese and gave us directions that were easy to follow. The breakfast was very good well presented and someone was there to help with the waffle maker if you needed instructions other than those written, she kept the breakfast area stocked with food and cleaned. I could come home there again.

"Central to everything!"
We stayed over Father's Day weekend and chose this hotel for the location. 20 minutes to Galveston, 15 minutes to Kemah, etc. The staff was great, everyone was really friendly. Myiesah was the name of the front desk attendant that weekend and she was great! My two year old spilled cough syrup on the comforter and we asked her if housekeeping would change it when they cleaned the room, five minutes later the guy from housekeeping showed up to change it. He was just as nice!

"Helped during our loss"
My mother had passed away and we had to travel Texas City for the funeral. The staff had heard of our loss and made sure my family was taken care of as if we part of their own family. Would recommend to my friends & family. The only problem we had was with our shower & it couldn't be fixed until after we left. We couldn't understand why they could have done it while we were gone during the day. It was a simple backed up drain that could have been roto-roted.

We stayed here the night before my husband's half ironman race in Galveston. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, going as far as to set up breakfast 2 hours early since there were several other athletes staying who also needed to leave early. The room was also clean and comfortable. Thank you!!!

"Loud"
We could hear everything in the rooms next to us and the hallways. We had left a Do No Disturb sign out because we wanted to sleep in on our last day of vacation but that didn't matter. House keeping was so loud banging on doors around us and YELLING "housekeeping" that we couldn't sleep. The rooms had a weird odor and the pool and hot tub water was light brown. We did not dear get in it! Only positive I can give is the desk clerks were very friendly when we checked in and out.
