The staff was very helpful. I needed change for $100, and they immediately gave me change at the front desk. I took an ice chest and they offered me a room with a refrigerator at no extra charge. What a lovely location! Unfortunately, I have nothing else nice to say. I heard water falling past my headboard, thankfully in pipes, beginning promptly at 4:25am every morning. We asked for a king-size bed and the receptionist said, "Sure!" But he warned us it would be next to an elevator. We got a queen-sized bed next to an elevator. I thought that for the price that I paid for the room that I was at least going to have an extra bath robe (I had an extra guest) and that the bathroom would not have mold and a ceiling that was warped and stained and leaking. I like the convenience of the this hotel and the comfort level. It is what I generally expect at each visit. The room is comfortable, and the service is mostly very good. While this was a lovely hotel and the closeness to the Galleria was nice, it is not a great place to stay with kids. We chose the hotel because it was close to a family members residence, but we should have chosen another location. The pool is especially bad. I would have given this place a 5, but we had to wait almost two hours to get our room. We were told that we would be called once our room was ready, but no contacted us. They did let us leave our bags with the concierge, so that was helpful. An hour and forty-five minutes later, we returned to the front desk and the front desk staff said that our room […] was ready...fifteen minute ago. You might be interested to know that the $50 charge was for incidentals. It should have only been a pending transaction that we release when you check out.
