This hotel is well situated for an Amsterdam stay. It is a walk or easy tram or canal-bus ride to all of the sites you will want to visit, and yet is in an area that is much less crowded and gritty than the area next to the main square (The Dam). I was traveling with my teenage daughter and appreciated feeling comfortable with the neighborhood. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient but the concierge service was inadequate and bordered on surly. For example, no one had any information on how much the trams cost and about ticket options (i.e., good for an hour only or day passes). At checkout, they tried to add a charge for in-room Internet usage, which I did not incur, but eventually relented when I protested. We used the computers in the hotel lobby to check email, etc., which was very convenient.”
The hotel was wonderful. The staff and the concierge were extremely helpful. The rooms had good air conditioning. The breakfast was great. The location was off the center ring, making it quiet from the buses and trams. The walk to the tram was on 7 minutes- slowly- and we were able to walk to the National Museum. Only the internet was a bit costly - but available. Highly recommend the hotel.”
Die Port Van Cleve Hotel is great! We stayed for two nights. The room was clean and the bed was comfy! The front desk people were helpful and friendly. The location is amazing as you can walk everywhere. There is a grocery store very close by and a great vegetarian restaurant. The hotel bar was nice as you can sit outside and relax! Try some of their Drjopes! Yummy black licorice!”
cant fault this hotel in anyway. The reception staff were brilliant right from checking in to checking out. Location was right in the centre. Room was clean spacious and would definitely stay here again and would most certainly recommend to anyone.”
The hotel location is excellent, literally 5mins from the train station and 5 mins to the Centre of Amsterdam. The hotel standard was exactly what you would expect from a 4* hotel. The beds were lovely, the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The hotel breakfast was a typical buffet selection, it was nice but very expensive at 25€”
Wow, A different experience, but one to remember for the good. The hotel is situated less than 5 mins by tram to city centre and looks out onto river. Our room was fantastic with superking size bed and the softest most comfortable bed!!!! Recomended stay with great customer service as well!!!”
I'd say this is a 5 star quality 3 star hotel. it was clean, modern, quiet, and has a superb location next to the park and museums. its a 3 star hotel because the rooms are small. room rates during the week are low, but weekends fill up fast, so book ahead!”
I was there during the week, new hotel, 15 min by tram from the train station, quiet residential neighborhood near the museums. Good quality /price a room in Amsterdam.”
I had a really comfortable stay at the Hotel Casa. My room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and pretty helpful. I got a great deal on it too, so the value is nice. It's about what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel room. Don't expect 5 star quality. You'll get comfortable rooms and a pretty nice bathroom. The area is quiet as well. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the city center, but public transportation is close by and is 5-10 minute ride to downtown. However, it's close enough that you can walk. i ended up taking the metro in the morning and walked back at the end of the day. It is a lot of walking, but I found it nice exercise and the city is wonderful to walk in. I'd stay here again.”
We adored that we could walk out the front door and get food, drink, or shopping within one block. The hotel is also within a short walk to the tram, which goes to all major tourist destinations. The room was comfortable and the usual "large by European standards / small by U.S. standards" size. The fitness center had towels, water, several aerobic machines, yoga mats, free weights, and TV. The one drawback to this location is the wireless Internet charge: It's about $30 (20 Euros) per day. Lucky for us we arrived on a Thursday and left on a Monday, so we only needed the connection for the first 24 hours.”
