The Buenaventura is located just a few blocks from the "happenin" Malecon and restaurants. We did not do all-inclusive during our stay so that we can enjoy the restaurants in the town. We were promised a European Plan breakfast through Hotels.com at this hotel, but the hotel didn't know about that deal. We explained to the manager and showed them our printed confirmation and they honored the request. For that fact, I think the staff was attentive to our needs. The condition of the hotel was nice, except that our hotel room door wouldn't lock. Our room was located on the street side of the hotel without a balcony, so it was a little noisy, but ok. The bathroom smelled a little like mildew, which is common in warm climates. The lock on the room safe was busted open, and not usable! The staff was all very friendly. The pool side entertainment was fun. The pools and grounds were great. I would stay here again due to it's location and that it was a clean hotel.
Great place to stay at very fair price. Food was always good at the buffet, it was excellent in the Italian restuarant and not so good in the steak joint. Did not try the Mexican specialty dinner. Bar was good with plenty to drink. Our only disappointment was the wireless internet service that did not work well at all.

Presidente Intercontinental is a wonderful hotel for a relaxing beach holiday. We have stayed at this hotel several times and the staff is excellent and the beach and grounds beautiful. This area of Puerto Vallarta is near Mismaloya so both beach and mountain rainforest. It is a 15 minute bus ride into town and a world away from the tourist/cruise ship Marina zone. Bus runs every 15 minutes and taxi's always there. Bus $1.00 / Taxi $6.00 us. Great Hotel

My neighbors were staying a week in their time share. I found a better rate on Hotels.com than my corporate web site. I only stayed two nights but found it to be very enjoyable. The grounds were perfect. I had an ocean front room. I did not hear any noise at night. I am considering bringing my family here some time. I know it might be hard to understand but it can be both a family vacation and also a romantic get away
