We stayed at the Raintree for 3 days until we were able to get into our timeshare at another resort. We wanted to stay in the Marina area so we could see more of this area and become more familiar with it. We found that all the staff were very friendly and would greet you with a smole and "Hola" . The room was clean and all the rooms have a spa tub on the balcony. Our room was on the Marina side and had a view overlooking the Marina. While the resort is not right in the Marina it is close enough that you can walk to it and enjoy the food and sights there. The beach in this area is very nice and we enjoyed walking on the beach. The only thing we didn't like about the beach were the guys a little ways from the resort that would try and sell us pot as we walked by, it has been several years since anyone on the beach has asked us and we had hoped Vallarta was putting a stop to this. Overall we would stay at the Raintree again.

We came on a guys' volleyball trip and were not disappointed. The staff was very attentive, with definitely a big shout-out to Gustavo and Ozy, who helped us at the volleyball court during our tournaments. The only complaint I would see is the standard dinner. They do have a gourmet restaurant for which you need reservations and we didn't try (but heard was good). But the standard dinner seemed a little too cafeteria-ish. They could improve it by doing a nice buffet or sit-down. Otherwise, all was good and we had a fun time.
"Perfect location to walk to town"

This hotel was perfect if you want to walk to town. It is close to all things you will need if you are not all inclusive. There is a continental breakfast included which did us perfectly since we were on an all inclusive the week before. Whatever issues we had at this hotel were rectified almost immediately, so service is great. It is a quiet hotel so stay away if you want action and to party. It has a fridge, cooktop and microwave so you can make some of your own meals if you want. It is so close to good restaurants you can walk there in a few minutes.
"Good beach; good food"

Best Western Plus in PV is set on a great beach with sounds of waves. The restaurant was actually above what I expected for a Best Western. The hotel is showing some signs of benign neglect from when it was the El Presidente International. The beds are fabulous and I fell asleep in minutes each night. Bus service to both Mismaloya and Old Town PV is frequent and cheap (6.5 pesos). Try bus in daylight hours, cab after dark due to uneveness of sidewalks etc. Would stay again. Price is right.
