  Crowne Plaza check in time is 3 PM. We arrived at noon and they let us lock up our luggage in a room until we were done shopping at a local market. I requested a specific room, which hotels.com confirmed would be available to me at a certain price. Hotels.com confirmed the room price but Crowne Plaza stated a higher price for the room I wanted. Not good!!

  We always stay here when we drive to Puerto Vallarta. Some staff speak English..the rest speak enough to communicate. Staff is very hospitable. On site restaurant is convenient and good. Hotel is older on the inside be good enough for an overnight stay and it's easy to get to. Also straight shot to the road to PV. SECURITY is GOOD. Parking lot is SAFE. Also bell staff is very friendly. Rooms on the road side can hear street traffic. Ask for room on back side.

  I had stayed there about 15 yrs ago and was pleased to find it to be as good or better now. One gripe is that there was no clothes storage space except the closet, i.e. no drawers to put things in. Also, it was a quiet week for the hotel so the restaurant wasn't open part of the time and the bar was never opened. Other than that, it was good and the staff was friendly and helpful.

  Regarding the pool, I saw people cleaning it every morning, but the water would probably be more clear if the filter were replaced or improved. The hotel is great and the people who work there are friendly. The only inconvenience is the location close to the train which passes a couple of times in the night and is loud. They would do well to insulate doors and windows for noise. Great location, close to many restaurants.

  hotel itself is great...generic but it has all you need right there and nearby.
