"Secluded and low-key"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
Loved staying here. My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and we loved the natural and relaxing atmosphere here. Perfect for someone wanting to get away from the usual vacation crowds.
"I love Amansala!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 28, 2013
I love this property and will stay there again. It is our second time staying in the newer part of the resort. I love waking up to the sunrise and the waves! The only thing I would like to see happen is better security in our room there is no lock on the door. Thanks Amansala!

"Best Beach LOCATION"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 27, 2012
the location is the best thing about the hotel..right on the Beach. Sound of the tide is wonderful and always a breeze. The room was "balcony"on 3rd floor. It was spacious with a king bed & futon & hammock chair. The balcony was as big as the room with lounge chairs. It seemed clean, but our 2 day stay did not include maid service. The only complaint is that there was No Hot or even Warm Water. The Cold Water is NOT Potable! There was no food or drink there or phone, clock, tv etc. The power went out for a little bit the 2nd nite..no biggy! W didn't pay much for 2 nites so you get what you pay for! I liked the place for location & true beach feel.

Good hotel to stay and have fun. But the breakfast should be improved.
"Eco Chic Living"Reviewed by Autumn N of "Los Angeles, CA" on Jul 10, 2011
I have been staying in the Tulum area and have stayed at many resorts/cabanas/hotels along the boca paila road. The Hemingway was a very nice eco chic place to stay. If someone is excepting a 5 star resort in the Tulum area, go else where. Electricity may be sporadic and hair dryers are highly frowned upon due to their high energy consumption. The beach is absolutely breath taking. If you're lucky, you can catch sight of nesting sea turtles. The breakfast, consisting of fresh fruit, fresh pastry, baguette, preserves, and a varying egg dish, along with coffee and freshly squeezed juice was perfect. Our Cabanna was situated towards the back of the property, thus, the sea breeze was not very easily felt and it was a little warm in the beginning part of the night. Unfortunately, it rained almost every day we were in the area and we had business to conduct so I was not able to get a complete feel of the resort other than breakfast and coming home for bed. My only complaint is that the wifi was nonexistent. I had read reviews earlier citing this complaint as well.. I, however, chose location over connectedness. There is an excellent restaurant across the street from The Hemmingway whose name escapes me but the food was excellent-- very mexican fushion-- The grilled fresh fish was perfection and the tomatoe/avacado/papaya gazpacho was to die for-- also-- the salad with black beans, chaya, carrots, and zucchini became my new personal favorite! A KM south down the road or so is La Zebra-- which offers free wifi for the traveler who needs to get their technology fix. I would and will be going back again.
