"Great Times"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 23, 2013
My parents and I had a great time at El Cid El Moro. The room was clean, spacious and quiet to the world around the hotel. We enjoyed the ocean view from the hotel. EL Moro staff was attentive and on top of taking care of our needs. I want to specially thank Luis Front Desk and Oliver Valet/Belly Boy or going the extra mile. I look forward to visiting Mazatlan and El Cid El Moro on my next vacation. Thank you
"nice hotel with local spanish architecture"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 18, 2013
Stayed at this hotel for a week with a friend during Carnival. Hotel is nice and in a good location in the golden zone. We booked the all inclusive package. Food ranged from not good (pool bar) to very good (Italian restaurant and Roberto's Mexican Restaurant). The buffet was typical cafeteria food. The terrace restaurant also had menu food but we did not order off the menu during the stay. The all inclusive plan includes alcoholic beverages but not bottled beer. The only beer on tap is Modello light and dark. Service can be slow from the bar if the hotel is crowded. The beach is nice and there seemed to be plenty of chairs and palapas to accommodate guests. Vendors stroll the beach but are not much bother. There are restaurants and bars within easy walking distance to hotel. hotel is close to Malecon for a nice walk. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and accommodating. The main pool is in the center of the hotel and was a bit dirty during our visit. The rest of the hotel was clean and well kept. The hotel is older but has been updated. There is a nice sports bar on the second floor. The beach is kept very clean by the hotel. The hotel is right next door to Joe's Oyster Bar. Overall, I give this hotel a good rating. it is not 5 star but very authentic and comfortable for a stay in Mazatlan. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Everything about this hotel is great. The only downside was the adjoining room had a smoker in it and the smoke seemed to seep into our room.
"Nice hosts with good taste."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 7, 2013
Even though we only stayed one night as we were enroute to Nayarit we really enjoyed our stay. Glen and his lovely wife were very accomodating. The room was a joy and the breakfast wonderful.

"A nice hotel in a good location with a great view."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 31, 2013
If "new" is important, this isn't the hotel for you. However, if a well maintained hotel that in its day was one of the finest, that is well maintained, clean, comfortable and if you pay for the ocean view, has a great, unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean will work for you, this is it. The staff was courteous and helpful at all times and the room appeared to have been recently painted. Be sure to be aware of the per day additional fees added to the Hotel.com purchase price that apply.
