"Ideal location to stay and a wonderful restaurant"Reviewed by Geoff H of "England" on Nov 22, 2010
We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of Nov. I can unhesitatingly recommend it as a fantastic place to stay in Marrakech. As previous reviewers have said, our room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated, and the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Many people have also mentioned the good location - but as first-time visitors to Marrakech we hadn't realised how important that was. It really IS ideal - just a couple of minutes walk away from the main square, but without all the bustle and excitement that goes on there ! You couldnt ask for better ... We got the Riad to organise our pick-up from the airport. Very smooth experience, and recommended as the taxi can't get to the Riad, so we were met by someone from the Riad who took us for the last few yards though the alleys. We also got the Riad to arrange a days excursion for us, out to the Ourika Valley in the Atlas Mountains. That worked out very well. We had our own car and driver, and he took us to interesting places on the way ( and found us a guide for the walk up to the waterfalls at Ourika). Finally, I MUST mention the Restaurant, which really was excellent. Wonderfully good food, and surprisingly good wines ( all Morroccan).
"The Raid Dar Sara - a gem behind medina walls"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 12, 2010
We booked this hotel online just a few days before we arrived without giving it much thought or much a look through. Even though we didn't look that closely at it we totally lucked out. The riad was so beautiful - all built around a stunning courtyard with a huge tree and chirping birds. The rooms were large and comfortable, and decorated in Morocco style. The plunge pool and huge rooftop terrace were wonderful surprises. The breakfast was huge and delicious. A little hard to find and a little far away from the action (14 minute walk to the main square) but still a truly wonderful place for a great price.
