"Best Hotel we could've asked for!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
Hotel was beautiful and clean, staff was very friendly and most spoke English. Room was amazing, larger than most in Japan. Even had a jacuzzi tub! Only downside is its distance from the rest of tokyo, which is really no big deal because there is a JR station about 5 min walking distance away. Great place to stay, recommend to anyone travelling through tokyo that likes a little luxury for a decent price!

"Wonderful hotel in a great location!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 19, 2013
We really enjoyed our stay. Staff was wonderful and for the most part spoke English. The hotel seemed very popular with foreigners. Several excellent restaurants with guest specials and wonderful service. Kid friendly and a short walk to some great destinations including the Miraikan. We'll be back!

"True Japanese hospitality"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 11, 2013
If you want global luxury, opt for the Conrad, Peninsula, or Grand Hyatt. If you want truly unique Japanese luxury at it's finest, you can't beat the Imperial Hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and supportive without being overbearing. It's the subtle things that matter. The staff at the Imperial Hotel clearly showed they understood this. The room was perfect. The food superb. The pool, bath, sauna, and fitness facilities were all excellent. I used them several times. We had our two kids with us but they supported us all. Thankfully we never got the sense that "kids don't belong here."

"Easy access to subway"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 23, 2013
Clean rooms, with everything one would need. Great views of the city. Having a subway stop directly below the hotel was a plus, and the shuttle to and from Shinjuku station (free) is very useful if you want to get on the JR lines or are taking the train in from the airport. One thing I felt a bit deceived about was transportation from Narita. I was under the impression that the hotel had a free shuttle to and from the airport based on the website and previous reviews. It was not until I called the same day that I was told it was 3000 Yen per person to take the recommended bus company, and that it might take 2-3 hours to reach the hotel. With that timeline and price, we decided to take alternate train transportation and not have to wait for the bus, spend hours on it, or pay even more than the already-expensive Tokyo train system. For the price you pay to stay here, my cost-benefit analysis leaned towards staying at the Hilton because I thought it provided airport transportation. Not the end of the world, just a miscommunication I suppose. Otherwise a great stay, and enjoyed the on-site restaurant (Checkers) and pool (only 12m long though)/gym facility.
