Very nice hotel
"Excellent value; best breakfast; splendid views"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 27, 2012
We were drawn by location, price, and past reviews and were not disappointed, even though EAV buses on strike for first few days (relied, instead on SITA, less frequent schedule, to get back/forth 2 miles to/from town center and Circumvesuviana train for Herculaneum Ercolano and Napoli). Hotel is still developing, soon to have bar/lounge and refurbished guestrooms (especially bathrooms/showers). Breakfast is bountiful; wi-fi works; TV all Italian except for France 24, but we weren't there to watch TV.
"Lovely hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 13, 2012
My wife and I had the best time in Sorrento. We spent four nights at La Vue D'Or and enjoyed the hotel amentities. The family that runs the hotel are wonderful and very helpful. The hotel shuttle was extremely helpful in getting us to and from downtown Sorrento. We enjoyed our stay so much that when we were stranded in Italy for an additional six days due to Hurricane Sandy, we returned to La Vue D'Or instead of staying in Rome.
"Great View"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 12, 2012
Staff great service -- one of best recommendations was to try local family-owned restaurant. Ideal location for visiting Amalfi Coast & Naples...! One of better free breakfasts hotel on our 3-week Italy trip! Recommend to offer free Wi-Fi (bit misleading on site to note Wi-Fi available -- please make note "with a fee.")

Very convenient location to train station, but one of the best parts of the hotel was the friendly service we received from Luigi at the front desk. Our luggage was lost for 3 days and he helped us make phone calls to the airline to retrieve our luggage. He was super friendly and helpful.

"Excellent Customer service!!!!!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jul 23, 2012
Everyone was incredibly friendly and went out of there way to ensure our stay was amazing! They have the most incredible view of all Sorrento from the Roof top patio. The hotel is so close to the Train station and a very short walk to the Ferries. It is on a quiet street and the customer service was amazing! We had to leave very early in the morning before breakfast and the front desk had packed a breakfast to go for us! That was attention to detail! They also suggested the boat tour of Capri with our Captain Francesco. It was truely an amazing experience and our best day in Italy. We can't wait to go back! We had a family room with bunkbeds and a queen size bed that overlook the orange grove. I would recommend this hotel to families! We really enjoyed the breakfast as well.
"Great views and amazing staff!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 22, 2012
I didn't realize how far the hotel was from sorrento and was apprehensive until the views sunk in!!! Amazing sunsets!!! And, the buses are very easy and convenient to use!!! The staff are very very accommodating and helpful. They provide free car service to 3 different restaurants which are pretty decent. I would highly recommend this hotel!!!
"Decent hotel -walking distance to everything!"Reviewed by Kim L of "Los Angeles" on Nov 25, 2011
This hotel is situated away from all the hustle and bussle of all the commotion in Piazza Tasso. It took us approx 20 mins to walk from the train/bus station to the hotel. There is a laundry place right across the street and tons of mini supermarkets and restaurants around the corner which was super convenient. We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, and after the first couple of days we were tired of the same breakfast over and over again. The breakfast consisted of: juice, coffee, tea, an assortment of super sweet tarts, sliced cheese, ham, bread, milk, cereal, prunes, jams, and a few other items. You gotta ask for salami if you want some. The Panini press came in handy. As for the rooms: the first 3 nights we were assigned to a corner room with an ocean view. It was nice and all but the shower stall drain was horrible and kept flooding. We complained and they finally moved us to a room that was triple in size with a bath tub. We were really grateful for the upgrade however I got 6 bug bites the morning after our first night in the new room. Not sure if the bites came from the room or from outside, but I counted 10 bites total when we departed. There is a big jazucci tub on the roof level…we didn’t use it because the water was COLD. The floor right below has a nice patio where you can enjoy something from the bar. The concierge was somewhat helpful but I suggest going to the info booths in Piazza Tasso for accurate sightseeing information. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it since it is walking distance to the port, the train station and many quaint restaurants.
"on the harbor"Reviewed by kathy fi of "eugene or." on Jul 24, 2011
if you come by boat this place is less than a block from the harbor. the boat is cheap and more fun than the circumvesta train, consider it. hotel location is fantastic, unless you cant do uphill walks. the whole town is above you. a one euro bus will take you up the hill, get it right out front.
