The hotel is across the street from the side exit of the train station. We had a triple room. Our room consisted of two floors--2 single beds on main floor and another on the second floor which would give you privacy when travelling with children. There is also a frig in the room. Our room was clean and comfortable and a great value for what we paid. We had planned to take a boat to Capri but the seas were too rough. Backup plan was to take train to Sorrento but that private train line was on strike. We went back to the train station as the main train line was running but within the next 30 minutes they too were on strike. Back at the hotel we mentioned this to the hotel reception and he made a few calls and offered a car with driver.
"Excellent Hotel for Enjoying Naples"

We were a bit worried based on other reviews, but after our 5 day stay, we were just extemely happy with this hotel. Here are the positives: (1) Extremely helpful staff with excellent English skills...we got them to get a taxis, book a train side trip for us, contact a pre-booked tour complany to confirm, explain local restaurants and generally give good advice. Their restuarant recommendations were A+. (2) The room was large and comfortable and everything worked. (3) The included breakfast had no meat or eggs, but was highest quality pastries, coffee, juice, etc. (4) The hotel is very central...we walked easily to 5 of our book's "Top Ten in Naples" attractions. Taxis and busses are less than a half a block and it is 3 minute walk to the "Dante" metro station. The hotel is on a side street and it not like a four star hotel on a main boulevard...if that is a problem, find another hotel. If not, you cannot do better than this for efficient and affordable lodging in the heart of Naples. For us, this was an absolute gem!
"Great location, wonderful hotel"

This hotel is in a great location. It is close to the center of Naples. You can walk to all the attractions. The staff is very kind, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Great value for the price. We will stay here again the next time we are in Naples.
"Very convenient and clean"

There was a big construction project in the piazza right in front of the hotel, but the walls and windows kept out the noise. We were near the breakfast room; the noise from that did wake us... the cappuccini made up for that. Clean spacious rooms and so close to the train station that hauling luggage is no problem. Good inexpensive restaurants right outside the hotel. I definitely recommend this place.
Great Hotel and the best and safest location in Naples. The restuarant next door, Penelope's, is one of the best that we had in all of Italy!! On the weekends, they have a singer and musician (Ciro) that rivals Elton John and Bocelli! If you get a sea view, you can catch a sunset view of Pompeiii and Visuvius from your window, but also from just walking our the front door. Most of Naples is dirty and run-down and you have to weed through it to find the treasures , but you will forget that when you are walking in the Santa Lucia area. Don't hesitate to book this hotel.
"Excellent budget choice in Naples"

There are several hotels in the small streets south west of the main train station in Naples, and Luna Rossa is an excellent budet choice among them. The location is convenient to transportation links, the hotel itself is comfortable, including air con and flat screen tv. Several restaurants in the nearby streets stay open late. The east section of Giuseppe Pica street is deserted and iffy at night; when coming from the station walk along Piazza Garibaldi instead, and take the second small side street left directly to the hotel, thus avoiding the problematic section.

The Hotel had a wonderfully friendly staff, but did not speak any English. Everything was exceptionally clean, the breakfast was nice, location was great. The internet never did work, even though we had the code.
