"Excellent Affordable European Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 11, 2012
The Villa Maria is excellently kept in an old Italian Villa. The rooms are clean, with cool antique furniture and the staff is attentive. Be aware that it is a European hotel- so the showers are in the tub with no curtain, and breakfast is the same every day- but it is at the top of what you should expect unless you are staying in a super-luxe resort type place. We stayed there for 10 days and loved every second. It is a truly special place. Be warned as well- for those with limited mobility, the hotel is at the top of a steep hill, my 70 year old mother occasionally found the walk home a little challenging, but was able to push through- though people in wheelchairs or severely limited might want to stay somewhere not on a hill. Otherwise, it's a great way to work off all the pasta and wine you will have while in town.

wonderful and helpful staff. Nice breakfast buffet. Room service beverages outrageously overpriced. Unique, interesting and authentic decor. Nothing easily accessible for those with physical limitations.

The owner of the hotel was very nice and welcoming and very proud of his "family hotel" (his sons sit at the front desk and the walls are covered with family pictures). The hotel is certainly adequate, though not as elegant and nicely appointed as the many other hotels we've stayed at in Italy. However the rooms were clean, the staff was helpful, the location is good; so we really had a pretty good deal.
"Enjoyed the stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 6, 2012
Our stay was enjoyable. Good hotel, excellent location, friendly people. A bit too nosy on the casino side but the music calms down after 1 a.m. The hotel offers free breakfast, which is rather "monotonous," but you can always order out of the menu and have what you want. Overall, we enjoyed staying there and will definitely come back again.

"Hotel Maristella - Homely and Awesome"Reviewed by Bryan D of "Henderson, NV" on Nov 2, 2011
Location was great. Rooms were great, just old. Staff was fantastic. I feel like a low budget renovation would go a long way here, they could really use a bunch of small things like fresh paint, internet, and linen upgrades. Still can't beat this place for the price, I would stay there again.
"Hotel Sorrisso"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 7, 2011
This was the cheapest hotel we could find in Sanremo and for that it was definitely not bad. Great location, very close to Sorriso's only nightclub and also the main square with restaurants etc. However Sanremo is very small anyway so any hotel would not be that far. 24hr reception was very handy and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was a little disappointing (although they make great coffees!) and our room was very small and dark, although clean, but this was not a problem because we didn't spend much time in the room. As budget travellers we still felt it was a little pricy, but overall a good experience.
