This elegant, affordable hotel is a great place to stay for a night or two between flights. The shuttle service from the airport makes getting to the hotel easy, and also provides a convenient way to get into the city to explore. Everyone associated with the hotel was courteous and helpful.”
Spent two nights here in mid-August. Excellent location- fairly central to all the sights and close to fine array of restaurants and cafes. Requested room overlooking the river Liffey. Rooms a little worn. Queen bed actually two twins put together- not particularly comfortable. Windows do open. Hallways quiet. Restaurant not open- undergoing remodeling. Courtyard was closed. Extremely helpful front desk staff.”
This was probably the best hotel I have been to in a while. Great front desk staff who are very helpful, comfortable clean rooms, a good restaurant with attentive service. Too bad this hotel couldn't be in Dublin center! Highly recommended!”
Not much available within walking distance of hotel in regard to restaurants - stayed for two nights and ate in hotel restaurant both nites. Wireless internet available for additional charge, unless you use one of two computers avaliable in the lobby. Hotel was clean and nice and shuttle service provided to airport approx. every 45 minutes.”
Nice clean and tidy hotel. Reception helpfull on arrival as we arrived late. Some noise from a wedding party in the hotel but this finished at 1.30am and no noise after then. About a 30 min pleasant walk into the centre of Dublin, buses were easy to use instead of walking. Would stay again.”
This is my 3rd stay in the Iaac Hotel in Dublin in 8 months. Must say i cannot say anything negative about my experience. I will say i have learned to pack a pair of ear plugs, just in case i get a room looking onto the street where the trams and buses run, this can be a little noisy. Staff at the reception are very competent and polite. Will stay here everytime.”
The hotel was extremely easy to find, just a 10 minute walk away from where the bus from the airport stopped on O'Connell street. The hotel is situated directly on top of a working fire station and although noise from this can be noticeable during the daytime there was very little noise at night and it did not keep us awake. The hotel is situated very conveniently for Trinity College and the Book of Kells and is just a few minutes away from the route of the city's open top bus tour (a stop is directly outside the college). The Temple Bar area is also quite close but sufficiently far away so that the noise from the nightlife cannot be heard. The hotel staff were very friendly and polite and the atmosphere in the hotel was good. Meals were very good in the hotel with breakfast being a hot and cold buffet and lunch and dinner available without needing to book. Rooms were very clean and pleasant, there was a reasonably large desk and facilities for connecting to the internet (although I never tried this so can't comment on the ease of use). There was a good choice of television stations in the hotel rooms but the reception wasn't very good in the room that I stayed in (not really a problem as I didn't want to watch anything anyway). This was my first trip to Dublin and the hotel was a good choice, I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to others.”
This hotel is in a great location to visit the city. One of the oldest and most historical hotels in Dublin. The room was good if a not spacious. Staff were polite and helpful. However, we had constant problems with the keycard for our room and had to go to reception FOUR times to get it rectified. On the first night the fire alarm sounded at around 4am. A call to reception give us no indication whether there was an emergency or not and a promise to return our call with more information was not returned. Eventually after a number of calls to the night porter we were told that everything was in order! The second morning we were awoken at 8.30am by the sound of drilling from workmen in the adjoining corridor. A call to reception resulted in a visit by the duty manager who apologised and an offer of an upgrade which was pointless as we were checking out that morning. No offer of a refund or reduction was made. Lovely hotel but I feel that these petty incidents should not occur in what is regarded as a premier hotel.”
This was one of the best European hotels we've stayed in. The location was superb, the customer service was great, and the food at the Abacus restaurant (part of the hotel) was excellent. We recommend this hotel very highly to anyone visiting Dublin.”
The room was nice but not configured well. Had a room with a sea view. The bed was centered on the room which made the two chairs very tight to use. It also made the fridge a bit awkward as the door to the fridge opened the wrong way for the configuration, which could easily be changed by switching the swing of the door which would have been easy enough if I had an allen wrench. All in all I really liked the hotel. The service left a little to be desired a couple of times in Hardys bar but was good over all. Easy access to the DART and the price to get into Dublin was only euro 2.30. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.”
