Continue to have success with this hotel. Is always clean, a good value and staff is responsive to most issues. My two concerns this trip centered around not being given the correct tier room that I reserved and put into one that smelled extremely foul do to smoke. Not just a little smoke, a lot of cigarette smoke! Be prepared with room details before you go in the event this oversight occurs here for you as well.
"Nice Hotel"Reviewed by C D of "Atl,USA" on Apr 12, 2012
Very nice staff and helpful. It is in a ally way and near a busy area but all is safe and is a quite hotel. You have a very nice travel agent ajacent to the reception of the hotel. Plumbing needs some work. Food was good and nice breakfast. 20 min walk to spice market and Red Fort.

"Good hotel- neighborhood is not great"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 21, 2012
We stayed at this hotel for 5 days and had a very nice time. The staff is great and friendly. The food is good. It was the cleanest hotel we had in India. The Neighborhood around it is not very nice.

The hotel was very clean. The service was great and helpful. The free wireless was not very good. I guess you get what you paid for, not much. It is hard to find this hotel, but otherwise it's a very good hotel. Price of the hotel is very reasonable.
"Best located hotel for shopping & eating out"Reviewed by Ginny W of "Washington DC" on Mar 5, 2012
Hotel is well maintained and staff is generally friendly although some staff are more helpful than others. Hotel is one block from a shopping street that includes a nightly shopping market. Two blocks away is a wonderful restaurant
"Good for Delhi"Reviewed by Travis K of "Hopkins, MN" on Feb 24, 2012
Hotel Emarald is located near Connaught Place and the New Delhi Train Station. The room was very modern and clean, with a shower and toilet. You need to run the water for at least 10 minutes to get warm, but it will eventually be hot. It is about a 30-minute walk to the train station, and not an easy route to follow, so I would recommend taking a cab or autorickshaw. The location of the hotel is a little difficult to find at first, so you should tell your driver it is near World Trade Center or LaLit hotel. The staff were very helpful, but not overly friendly. Free breakfast is included with the room, although it is nothing to get excited about. What you should get excited about is that the wifi internet actually works, which we have found rare while traveling over seas.
"Hotel Alka, clean and comforable for Delhi touring"Reviewed by Jean and John P of "Connecticut, USA" on Feb 16, 2012
The hotel was clean and comfortable for a February 3-day stay. It was convenient to governmental, historical and cultural attactions - our main interests - with short taxi or rickshaw trips. Is 40 minutes from Indira Ghandi Int'l Airport. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Restaurant on site and room service were good. Breakfast buffet food was good, although a little limited in variety. An ideal hotel choice for people constantly on the go touring Delhi. Not luxurious but comfortable and economical. (We are retired and in mid-sixties.)
"Quiet and clean"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 24, 2012
Very nice hotel. Quiet, clean and easy access to restaurants and shopping (30-100 rps auto rickshaw ride to near-by shopping areas). 45-min taxi ride from airport.
