"Nice hotel from far from town"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 16, 2012
Great service, only thing is that its far from the city centre. Thessaloniki being pretty cheap means that it's not expensive to travel via cab (or bus which stops right outside the hotel) to go to the city, but it'd be nice to be in the city centre. Did not realize that it was out of the way until we reached here.

"Close to airport."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 3, 2012
Enjoyed the pool. Saw bugs in the dining room by the open window. No AC in the lobby or the dining room but the bedroom was quiet and comfortable. I did recommend to friends who needed a hotel near the airport and they also stayed at Athina and were satisfied. The breakfast offered many varied selections. Dinner was good. We had to call the hotel to get the free shuttle but it arrived promptly.
"Excellent Value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 12, 2012
I recently stayed at the Tobacco Hotel for two nights. I selected it for price and location and was not disappointed in any way. My room was large, quiet, and comfortable with good a/c but no view. The staff spoken excellent English and was friendly and helpful. Wi-fi was fast and free, and the complimentary breakfast was satisfying but not exceptional (no fruit or pastries). The hotel is within reasonable walking distance to most tourist sites: the landmark Arch is a good 10 minutes walk with another 10 to the White Tower. I definitely would stay there again.
"City Hotel in Thessaloniki, GRC, is a great place."Reviewed by Lino M of "Washington, DC, USA" on Sep 5, 2011
The City Hotel is an excellent hotel. It is centrally located near most of the sights and next to lots of shopping and restaurants. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. For example, we asked for recommendations for good fish restaurants. Without hesitation they gave us several. The first on the list, turned out to be excellent and reasonably priced (sorry, don't remember the name). By Greek and European standards, the rooms were roomy, modern, and quite comfortable (ours had a balcony we could sit on overlooking the street. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was excellent, a buffet with a large selection and good quality. From the hotel, Aristotelous Square and the water front were 2 blocks away. The White Tower was 6 blocks. Shopping and restaurants were around the corner or as far as you wanted to go. The Rotunda and Arch of Triumph are less than 2 km walk.
