"Rio Okay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 1, 2012
The Rio is older and in a not so great neighborhood, however, it was clean, inexpensive and very close to a Metro stop. The older gentleman at the desk during the day was great. He was very helpful. Breakfast was very good and you could eat outside in the sidewalk area. It was wonderful early in the morning. Overall I would rate it a good stay.
"It was a good experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jul 25, 2012
It was a good hotel considering the price. The neighborhood is the worst factor playing against this hotel. Overall I had a good experience.
"Perfect for Athens!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 29, 2012
At first people told me the hotel was great but not safe location. I have to say it is a great hotel with big rooms, friendly service, great pool with bar and just 3 blocks from the metro. I could could around Athens safely and enjoy my great room and the pool on the top! I will definily come back!

"A perfect Mom and Pop Hotel for a good price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 26, 2012
I cant stop saying good things about this hotel and its service . It was not what i expected and went far and above my expectations. The service was phenominal and the view from the rooftop patio of the Acropolis took my breath away, especially at night time :). The hotel puts me in the mind of a New England syle mom and pop bed and breakfast but placed in a mediterranean city. The neighborhood is not bad at all and the hotel is less than 5 minutes walking distance from the train . The only downside of this hotel and although its my personal opinion is 1, i prefer higher set beds which the hotel didnt have and 2. the scrambled eggs the hotel provided were either too dry or way too runny . Besides what i listed above , the hotel is a perfect mediterranean paradise , which is not onloy easy on the eyes but on the pockets as well .
