"A fantastic option in Athens"

Probably the best thing about this hotel was the fantastic view of the Acropolis from our balcony. The room is pretty modern-looking in terms of room decorations, but cleanliness is lacking just a tad. It's convenient to get to from Monastiraki metro station, and very easy to walk to the major sights of historical Athens. I think I'd rather stay here than in Plaka itself, since it was pretty quiet and we got good rest.

We were very please with our room and the view from our balcony. The staff were extremely willing to please. While in Athens it was cold.....even had first snow in 6 yrs but our room was cozy warm. The bed was very comfortable with a down mattress and cover. The room was small but we adjusted because everything else was so nice. An easy walk to the Acropolis, Metro easy to use and nearby and tram was very convenient . We used X 95 Bus to the airport. It takes a little while longer but you can see more of the city.... Cost was €5 (srs) for the two of us. Restaurants near the hotel were not the tourist type eateries ...but more traditional cuisine at a fair price. Breakfast at the hotel was somewhat limited in the choices of foods.

We were starting out our Greece vacation and so this was the first hotel we stayed in during our two week trip - the two of us - My wife and I.. The staff at the front-desk were extremely friendly and also helped us a lot with basic questions, where to eat, safety, sight seeing etc. etc. We had a very good time here and the room was decent sized and comfortable.. Now the breakfast ... GOOD .. VERY GOOD.. eggs, different breads, cereals, juices good coffee (Not greek, thank god) etc. etc. The wifi worked :) NNow about the locations - very well located in the heart of the city and close to the parliament and Syntagma square... Just stay a block away from the parliament if there are any protests :) Monastricki square with GREAT food and Taverna's open all night were walking distance and so was the Metro.. the only negative in this hotel was the size of the bathroom.. The shower was the tiniest I had seen in my life - however, the other hotels in greece were about this size also - so seems like a Greece/Europe thing ... but tiny tiny shower wasn't the best experience.. All in all we will stay here again - Highly recommend the place :)

Front desk staff were outstanding. The location is convenient, but there are people doing drugs in the nearby streets at night. There was no alarm clock. The instructions on the phone for, e.g., requesting a wake-up call, were in German. The shower was tiny, with a wrap around shower curtain that sticks to you as you shower, and that doesn't keep water from spraying on the bathroom floor. Street noise is a problem at night, so you want to keep the door to the balcony closed. With the door closed, the room was too hot and stuffy unless the a/c was turned on. The a/c had no external temperature control (it originally came with a remote, which was not available in the rooms), and it cooled the room too much. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Interior is dated but clean enough for the price.
The best thing about Athenstyle was the location - a block and a half from Monistraki metro station -also the restaurant on the roof served good, fresh food (really good bruschetta) and had a nice view of the Acropolis.
