"Couldn't really ask for more"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 23, 2013
This was a great stay. The room was huge and comfortable with a nice canopy bed, plenty of storage, and a nice TV. View was amazing as we could see the ocean from our 3rd floor room. The bathroom was very large with a giant tub that easily fit 2. The shower was lovely and a nice size, though the water pressure could of been a bit better. The location of this hotel was perfect. We came in at Edinburgh Waverly and several buses (5, 44, 113, 24X) all stop RIGHT in front of the hotel. There is an ASDA (walmart super store) with a wonderful breakfast cafe about 10 minutes walk. Porto Bella is about 15 minutes away which is a gorgeous little beach front area with an amazing cafe in the swim center that makes homemade food. The bus will get you into Edinburgh in about 30-45 minutes. Edinburgh castle, Arthur's seat, the Parliament, etc is all there. One of the best hotels I have stayed in at a great price. The Bistro, Bar and Restaurant downstairs were good but very expensive.

This was my favorite town and hotel out of our stay and we'll be coming back. The staff was so friendly and suggested some really wonderful places to eat!

"Nice hotel, some surprises"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 9, 2013
We initially chose this hotel because the city centre was booked for the days surrounding New Year's. The hotel itself was very nice, new, clean--but the train that is two stops away from city centre wasn't running because of the holiday. So our only options were taxi or a long walk to the bus. Just something to ask about if you are trying to save money OR have problems walking.
"Comfortable and clean, good wi-fi"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 12, 2012
I stayed here when visiting the University of Edinburgh for two days. The hotel room was comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. The wi-fi was fast and login was easy. The location gives you great access to the area around the university and the train station. The only negatives are that the rooms are on the small side and the windows are very old and drafty. You have to keep the blinds/drapes closed to keep the room at a comfortable temperature.
"Close to airport and buses at So. Gyles."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 7, 2012
We enjoyed our stay. The restaurant was very good.
"Decent option"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 29, 2011
What the hotel lacks by way of modern infrastructure, it makes up with character and location. We got a spacious bedroom overlooking the main street. Carpet was warped in places and the bathroom didn't have full privacy (attic windows from across the street can look straight into the shower stall!). But very friendly and helpful hotel staff, nice warm breakfast and 15 minutes walk to the Royal Mile. Close to several mid-price excellent restaurants.
