"Not close to airport"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 8, 2013
We stayed here one night because we were led to believe the hotel is close to the Bristol airport. It's not. So if you want a hotel close to the airport, this is not it. On the flip side its a very nice hotel. Great pub area & pub food. Nice staff - very helpful. I'd stay here if you plan to be in the area for a while.

This hotel is exceedingly convenient because it is directly across the street from the main Bristol (Temple Meads) train station. Most of the buses also leave from this station. It is about a 10 minute walk to many seafood restaurants.

I know the title is cheesy, but it's true. I surprised my wife with a stay here as an early anniversary present, so I had high expectations for this establishment. I bought the deluxe room and later emailed the hotel and requested that it be one with a nice view and had some other accommodations arranged (champagne on our ice for our arrival and chocolate truffles for a nominal fee). There was no disappointment. We were given the Duke's Bedchambers (the room used by Henry VIII in the 16th century). The staff was excellent and most helpful. The castle is beautiful. The grounds are incredible. Yes, it's a little pricy, but when you consider everything, it is worth every penny.

"Great Reponse to Issues"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 20, 2012
This is a very good hotel (facilities, location) with excellent service. I couldn't get a couple of things to work in my room and so called Reception. Within five minutes, two staff arrived and stayed until everything was addressed. In particular, they couldn't get the Internet to work. Rather than simply leave it, they moved me to another room after confirming it worked there. When I arrived back in my room later that evening, they had left some snacks and a bottle of wine with a note apologizing for my inconvenience. GREAT service and would definitely stay there again. Only downside is that wireless internet is not available in rooms just yet. Will be in May 2012 aparently.
